Interview portion is very cool. The performance footage is from Ultrasonic Studios, Hempstead, New York on September 19, 1974. Thank you! My father was Lowell George.
I think the interview was from the Aussie tour around 1976. Greatest band of all time Forrest but Feats were never the same without your Dad IMO. And love Inara's work to! Good to see the genes passed on!!
I actually cried when I saw your pop’s jacket and a guitar in the hall of fame museum. Lowell and John Hartford are my favorite artists to ever live. I never got to see either🙏 Much love from the hollers of West Virginia v
That's addiction for you. You can see Janis Joplin's excellent interviews on Dick Cavett's show, and then realize she was dead soon after the last one. Some made it through - e.g. Bowie, and (unbelievably) Keith Richards. All smart, talented people.
that's some of the best LOWELL GEORGE footage I've ever seen. They were never the same without him, when he went solo and then passed on shortly thereafter
Two degrees in Be-Bop, a PHD in Swing, He’s a Master of rhythm…. Lowell’s style was musicianship unsurpassed. Left us way too soon. Thankfully we have his recorded legacy.
I've been trying to understand what's so special about Little Feat for years; for the first time, I can sort of see it now after watching this "rock n'roll doctor" performance. Pretty groovy with all the different backup voices and the call and response, etc. Wish I could find a whole set from this early period.
@BreconWalsh Lowell was heavily into dope unfortunately which led to his demise, frank zappa as wild as he seemed was very strict about substance abuse hence he terminated Lowell in his band
He didn't sell out for money. He kept his integrity, and played his music as he felt it. Too bad he was done in by his addictions- (and there were many).

Your Dad had great taste in cartoons too. Love the Bugs Bunny Shirt!
Lowell looked so clearheaded, together and cogent. Incredibly sad ending to a major talent and under appreciated band.
Not sure about them being unappreciated especially not in Britain.

One of best bands, period. And one of very few American bands that were elite, period !! Yeah, saw them at their peak. Lucky me !
I could listen to Lowell’s voice all day and nice. So relaxing and smooth.
Wow..thank you for this lost gem! There's never been another like Lowell and the mighty Little Feat!
2 degrees of bebop, a phd in swing, he's a master of rhythm, he's a rock n roll king.
It takes one to know one Mr. George.
Outstanding, one of a kind band. I saw them 4 or 5 times here in Houston. Even the original 4 piece line-up! 😻👍

Thank you! Good to hear from you Forrest! All the best!
One of the coolest people to ever live
Man I miss George!!!! RIP.
1:28 "do I look worried?" He knew he had the best band in the country at this moment.
Two degrees in Be-Bop, a PHD in Swing, He’s a Master of rhythm….

🎵 "Nacodoches to New Orleans." I'm living in Nacodoches now. 😻
"Do I look worried?" 😂😂 No Lowell, you didn't look worried in the slightest.
Kenny Gradney looks so cool with that monster Afro and distinguished moustache.

They're out there if you look...
There's a crap ton of soundboard recordings from the 70's on.
this is australia 1974, they did a tour here, unfortunately lowell passed away just a few short years later, outstanding talent, very original
1976 on tour in New Zealand and music from 1974 in Ultra Sonic Studios in NYC.☆☆☆☆☆
@BreconWalsh Lowell was heavily into dope unfortunately which led to his demise, frank zappa as wild as he seemed was very strict about substance abuse hence he terminated Lowell in his band
Steely Dan, Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead, Little Feat...are there any other bands that epitomize '70's rock?
GFR, BTO, BST, CHICAGO.
DOOB IE BRO'S.
SWEET.
Marshall Tucker Band, Traffic, Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac
Nilsson.

🤩
Forrest! Tell me you were blessed with some of your father talent!
Interviewed in Sydney International Airport. 😎🇦🇺👍🏻
He didn't sell out for money. He kept his integrity, and played his music as he felt it. Too bad he was done in by his addictions- (and there were many).
Good ole days.
& Came Out SmellING like A ROSE!. ROCK ON CHILDREN.
Yes, the interviewer has an Australian accent, probably the ABC, Australian tour.
Mentions Sabbath interesting labelmates...Lowell and LF were interesting lot...where the weird meets the familiar.
Fuck….Lowell died too young.
Golden Throat.
Do it lowell
too "deadish" for me. see
Little Feat absolutely mopped the floor with the Dead. I don't hear the comparison haha.
@@boaz9208 I agree 100%
I don’t hear any resemblance to the dead
The Dead were a groove band for fans.
Little Feat is a groove band for bands and musicians.
