diehardburrito if you even watch the videos from when they first got Bunny to now you can tell they love their dogs. That irritated me so much cause Kermit is literally like that at all times. If he’s getting attention. If he’s not. He’s just an anxious dog. We had a dog like that and only my mom n I could hold him. Kermit is very social for being how he is.
James actually got called out for facetuning his photos so I saw the humour in that, but I also recognise how clever that challenge is to get people talking about the show 👏🏻

Tbh Jenna Marbles wasn't even being cancelled for the fish thing. She did it out of genuine guilt and the desire to educate people because she was scared people would see her original video and follow it, thinking it's correct. She specifically said that people were correcting her very gently and kindly; she just felt guilty because she was harming living animals and that's the last thing she ever wants to do. It was less of an apology, more her trying to correct what she showed so that no one would make the same mistakes.

Regarding the apology task: the only reason it made me feel "icky" was because I immediately thought that it was gonne piss people off. I didn't have a problem with it, I kinda see it in the same way that you do and also think not everything's to be taken that seriously.
I had that too, I didn't personally mind the challenge but I instantly knew people would get frustrated by it.
My only problem was that I couldn't understand was it meant to be taken seriously or not

I am not a fan of Nikita but when she was paired with Ashely (my favorite contestant) and they hit it off instantly?! Like they were so sweet I feel like Nikita could learn a lot from Ashley and in turn Ashley could learn a lot about being an influencer from Nikita. I hope they stay friends.

i love james and he's shown to be a good host. i love the show and definitely predicted at least 2 of the final three, i thought indigo would have made it but oh well here we are. i heard a rumour about kylie being a guest judge for the finale but i don't know how accurate that is tbh.

About the first challenge of the episode: I sincerely think that you can have a sincere apology even if you script it. I was thinking about what would I do if I had to do an apology video like that, and I came to the conclusion that I would most likely script it, for a few reasons. First reason is that I would want my apology to be cohesive and not just a bunch of ramblings. Second reason is that I'd feel the need to address every single detail of it. Third reason is that when you are trying to apologise, you'll obviously need to choose your words very carefully to avoid furthering the whole scandal.
I see this as showing that you need to be slightly more rational about an apology video than most people think.

UA-cam actually did this, years ago. It was called "UA-cam Next Up" and it had different content categories. Winners got 5k of equipment and media coverage. Caspar Lee won it when he was at 70k.

I remember watching the episode and I DID think that the first task was REALLY weird, but when I saw what they were apologizing for and seeing they weren’t major things, I was okay with it. I also agree I didn’t like benny’s fake crying, I thought it was just weird...
I saw the uproar on twitter then watched the episode and thought everyone was really overreacting lol
I think Benny did the smart thing by being nice. The competition is not instant influencer,the competition is when he's outside of it. As long as he keeps a positive view on YT, he can do well after BUT if he gets people shitting on him on the show, they won't sub to him after.
I have some criticism for You Angelika.. I felt like I was watching a video on your main channel.. I think you should make this channel more about yourself than about what's going on in the industry.. I know that here you give your own thoughts and opinions, but you also do in the main channel... But for me , I love the content , keep it up

Angelika, I'm actually appreciative of the fact that you're not so "aggressive" anymore!! I feel like other commentary/drama channels nitpick at every little thing and make an entire video about something which isn't that deep and imo that just contributes to the negativity on the internet. It's refreshing that you now report things that are going on and call people out only when they are actually being problematic.

But to “prepare” them doesn’t mean make them fake apologize... they could’ve just told them “how would you handle this” and the best explanation/response to the situation could’ve won, instead of “joking” about apologizing when it is not necessary.
regardless of what you think about whether instant influencer, you gotta admit it's SUCH a good idea. like first of its kind. wouldn't be surprised if more shows like this come out

I think I watched Instant Influencer because I was like "Oh, I liked Glow Up on Netflix. I guess this will be okay." And I was pleasantly surprised. And honestly the second episode was iconic.

I like the fact that you are more "tame" because its nice to see that it's possible to be opinionated without being aggressive and those things don't have to go hand in hand. It's nice seeing you grow and mature and see you be happier with yourself
When I saw the challenge, I knew people would have an issue with it, but I didn't personally see much of an issue other than that Benny won. He took it the least seriously and I just feel like if they were going to do that challenge, James shouldn't have possibly made them think it's ok to have an apology video anything like Benny's. I think knowing how to apologize is an actual skill, even when you're sincere. Knowing how to convey yourself accurately and knowing how to tell where you're placing blame and responsibility with your words is important.
I like how everyone has to say that they don’t like James before they say anything good about instant influencer.
I think it’s important to separate art from the artist.
I love when you explain the way UA-cam works as a creator like the CTR I never knew that I’ve never seen anyone talk about that you’ve explained a lot of stuff like that in videos prior and I like that a lot as a viewer

About the whole aggressive Angelika thing, I remember watching one of your videos a while back and thinking you made valid points, but thought you were overly aggressive (as many other channels are), and honestly, I personally am glad you’ve calmed down because I was able to rediscover you and I love your content now. Be who you want to be and what makes you happiest, not what others tell you to be.

The challenge was not about "faking" and apology video, its to create and apology video for when they get into scandals. They didn't intend to make the challenge to fake apologies but to practice when they get into drama, that's why its called "Instant Influencer" is because to see who can be an influencer by taking the challenges of being an Influencer.
I’ve watched you from the beginning and I thought it was really interesting that you mentioned how aggressiveness and anger can start to affect you. I think that’s why I really appreciate your second channel because I’m not always in the mood for drama to be outraged about but I would listen to you talk about anything!

i feel like people dont realize that making a good apology actually requires skill. There are so many ways an apology could be worded or filmed and every single one of those ways will show you in a different light, independent of how you feel. You could be genuinely sorry for something, but if you cant word your apology correctly, you may send out the wrong message, which can also impact how you move foward. James was right for making influencer think about developing such skill early on.

I think the show has so much potential and I think it's so interesting. I think some minor tweaks could make this SUPER good and have it revolve more around what it actually means to be an influencer.
I don't think being a influencer is the same as it was even a few years ago. It's not so much 'what it means'. Kids become influencers and they don't even know what it means
Bethan Holly I mean like have challenges that are all clearly centered on stuff influencers do like taking good pictures and having catchy titles on top of being really talented. Some challenges are clearly aimed at that and some not so much.

I think it's really good that the apology part was there because they're able to see the public response and learn from it. Even tho it was a light-hearted task it showed who the genuine people were as well as showed them the possibility that even if they have good intentions, they can easily prevent a few things that make them look worse
