that's why he was called "big jonny twinkle" no one ever noticed him, so he wore outlandish outfits covered in sparkly sequins and stones... then of course there is the track "the quiet one" which if you ever heard him live you know is a LIE! :) but everyone thought Pete was making the noise when smashing guitars... nope that was John hitting his bass in time with Townshend's shenanigans
John playing his famous "Buzzard Bass" guitar!!! Nice to see!!!! I miss him!!! John is a one of a kind!!!! The Who was never the same without him!!!!🥲 I like how John hits and picks the the strings on his bass with his fingers!!!!
great stuff ! for me JOHN , was the best bass player everand great friend to all ! , but you could say Im biased as we knew john from school days in acton and neighbours , lexden rd / corringway /the same as pete at ,woodgrange avenue , roger , at devonshire road , and we use to jam with john , in maurice placketts music shop , also jim marshalls shop over at uxbridge road ,hanwell MAGIC A GREAT UPLOAD ! . ritchie .wolveshead ward .
Nice to see a drummer who's actually learned keiths parts properly ... pity his mix on the kit is so compressed it makes it sound like a cheap electronic drumkit
@@snoid9999 Sorry for my bad english, as it is not my mother language. I did not mean that he was a poor player. I wanted to express sorry for his unheard efforts. Please see above if now it makes more sense. If not, please tell me how to say it. Thanks !
I agree with you, but the irony is that Mose Allison's version is piano-based. But of course, there were no guys named Moon, Entwistle, Daltrey, or Townshend to accompany him. 🙂
Decent rendition, but it is robbed of the potency that the Who gave it. The payoff for me has ALWAYS been the unbridled vitriol of "they stepped...BACK!" being repeated a few times. Isle of Wight and Live at Leeds both leave this version standing in the shade, despite a GREAT vocal performance here.
The keyboard adds nothing to this song, aside from a percussive jangling that takes away from the drums. Great performance otherwise and the closest thing to early to mid 1970s era the who
Probably the greatest bassist of all time
You’re not wrong
Not probobalee but I now what you mean jellybean😉
@@richardface8664blood in blood out
Ummm….THEE greatest bassist of all time
The Ox is of course the man, but HOLY SHIT that drummer and guitarist/singer are a pair of bad asses too!! Blown away over here 💨
It's the John Entwistle band, and the camera ignores him. Incredible.
Lol
It’s how he wanted it I think? All he wanted to do was play on stage and let his bass playing be the star.
He succeeded.
I know like what the actual fuck?
Ha Ha.... TOTALLY AGREEE. Even in the old Who videos, they never focussed enough on him

RIP John Entwistle.
Now Kieth Moon and him and jamming up there
saw them at a big country bar in denver, at the first note, the power went out! what a show!
John's tone and attack are just bar none.
John entwistle is the man I envy him im a musian it's crazy I like callicical music instrumetal music.
KILLER!!! John Entwistle was THE man!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
John is definitely the man. Absolutely fantastic

Wow, that's pretty amazing. I saw The Who numerous times and Entwistle was always mind-blowing. Must have been neat to know him back then.
good grief blah blah
His fingers never stop moving for a second.
A fantastic band!!
Amazing musicianship
They cut "young man blues SHORT"...too bad...but Enttwistle.was " PUSHING IT" GREAT PERFORMANCE BY HIM AND ALL OF THE BAN
Entwistle's 4 15s and 8 12 speakers. Godamn that's loud.
and rattle your bones too!
and rattle your bones too!
THE OX ✝️🙏
This is written by Mose Allison.
YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS AMAGING
Trespass -One of this days is one of my favorite NWOBHM
Wow!!!!!!!
I went into this thinking the bass was gonna be the only good thing about it... I was pleasantly surprised!
Me too. it was a great rendition of a classic song, in my view
Rip John and Kieth.
excelent!!!!!
Sounds like Blue Cheer in their best days.......
Nice to see a drummer who's actually learned keiths parts properly ... pity his mix on the kit is so compressed it makes it sound like a cheap electronic drumkit
Well this was 90’s when the snares were tuned as high as possible.
He is a great drummer but I agree...his kit sounds awful.
This song...
Ian Rush on keyboards.
The dog said "Its alright!"
Nice
Ain't nuthin in the world these days
@00:14 idk how no one's brought up the fact that the cut to the drummer saying "....and that's the truth" isn't making you rofl
Who is that drummer? He is incredible. Wow!!!
Steve Luongo
I presume the drummer did the mix.?
when is this recorded?
Agree with Daniel,, camera person needs to go back to camera school.
I love the guitar player/vocalist but no idea who he is. They're a lot cleaner than The 'Oo though.
Godfrey Townsend
who's playing guitar and drums?
Godfrey Townsend on guitar, Steve Luongo on drums
something to see with Pete ?
@@Gnomaxx No.
Pity on the keyboard player... nobody hears a note from him...
So, how is the player poor, if you can't hear him, Celso?

@@snoid9999 poor meaning unfortunate, not incompetent
This is when I realise the PT Schecter is missing badly. Drummer wants to be Stuart Copeland too much also.
Sorry, Pete’s Schecter was a step down from his Les Paul. His playing on the Schecter during 82 Tour was thin.
@@drummer78 As someone who was there, I can confirm this. I think Pete's live sound peaked during the SG into Hiwatt years.
Awesome but the keyboard doesn't belong in there. It's not like the bass player, guitarist or drummer here are going to be missing any notes.
I agree with you, but the irony is that Mose Allison's version is piano-based. But of course, there were no guys named Moon, Entwistle, Daltrey, or Townshend to accompany him. 🙂
Too many notes from the members of the band... the Ox at his best.
