We have tried in Denmark for so long to be totally independent, we even voted NO several times to laws and bills from the EU caliphate. We do not want anyone from the outside to control us, thank you. Not EU caliphate, not UN (Islameic United Nations), not the US either. I can go with adopting US constitution, which is better than ours. But aside from that, no. Denmark needs to be indenpendent. Completely.
As Denmark will NEVER sell or give away Greenland, the US will be forced to start World War 3 to control it, as all of Europe loves Denmark and will unite against the US.
What isn't being mentioned is that Musk didn't just arbitrarily decide to torpedo the bill: Vivek Ramaswamy (who is the co-Chair of DOGE) actually read the whole 1500+ page bill and told Musk that it was a bad idea to go through with it. So there actually is someone who read through all of it, and is trying to make sure that proper funding is in place without all the extraneous nonsense thrown in with it. He's taking his job seriously already.
This is the part that's so baffling. The media are all saying that Musk was the first one to say anything about the bill and everyone's "taking his lead" but Musk's first tweet was literally a retweet of Vivek's tweet. Vivek started this but he doesn't even get mentioned because that wouldn't get as many views. Its so dumb.
I used to be a staffer for a certain house democrat that involved reading thousands of pages for a bill. For people to say he never read it, he doesn’t need to. He literally has volunteers to parse through the pile and break into sections and read them that way. It can easily be done in a couple days. I’ve done it several times to where it led to this house member to vote against the bill that his own constituents wrote.
Oh really? So Vivien magically read the whole thing but none of the senators or house members could have. Jesus you idiots really contradict yourselves every second of the day and then think you sound smart.
Everything Trump says is a negotiation. Start big, start high, find a middle. That's the hyperbole. It's hilarious watching people who don't understand this
If I remember correctly, I think the only real stipulation on the Panama Canal was that US Naval vessels are supposed to have priority for using the canal, since the no. 1 reason for it in the first place was to allow the atlantic and pacific fleets easy access to support each other. Giving up total control was mostly to get clout and ease tensions with the Soviets, same principle as when we voted to change the UN Big Five member from ROC to PRC. Again, I could be wrong, or have details wrong.
Quite the opposite, actually. The only stipulation was that the Canal was supposed to remain completely neutral, even in times of war. And that the only way the US can intervene is if the Canal is in "danger". So to answer, no, Trump can't take back the Panama Canal unless he: a. Proves the Canal hasn't remained neutral (which it has) or b. Is fine with committing an international crime.
@themanbehindyou.216 I'm not saying he has a right to take it, just that US ships get special privilege. Which, I did just check over the neutrality treaty, and it does specify that Panamanian and US vessels of war are entitled to transit expeditiously, Article 6 subsection 1. If that was impeded, it would allow for a forceful opening due to treaty violations. Actual occupation would be debateable unless they didn't back down. Of course, all military vessels from all countries are allowed to go through, and if any were denied due to being a vessel of war, then they could do the same thing. As I said, main stipulation is US naval ships get the "fast pass" so to say
I'm curious what America could do if it put its entire spend for 1 year back into the country and infrastructure like cut NASA and the military contractors for just 1 year and spend that money on the american people's standard of living

Quebec would probably rebel at the idea of coming under America.

Trump as he exits office: "When I started we only had 50 beautiful states. Now we have 79 states across every continent. We're making planet Earth great again."
The funny thing is that all bets are off now - you only get two terms. There's no reason for him not to pursue getting Greenland even if he fails, because nobody is going to have to think about reelecting him on the basis of promises made or kept. So he can just attempt whatever he thinks may be necessary or beneficial - if it works out, he will make his mark on history, if it doesn't, then he at least TRIED and that's also more than a lot of the career politicians in office ever managed.
That's true, but the people of Greenland have already said no, so it's rather futile and it will not be done. A more productive way of thinking would be for Denmark to adopt the American Constitution, which has way more rights for the people than the danish one.

Banning TikTok is not unconstitutional as it is not owned by anyone in the USA.
Even if it was owned by someone in the USA, it's a matter of national security since it's destroying the country mentally
Honestly, the correct path would be legislation about foreign application/programming's ability to gather data from users in other countries outside of its own (well, and honestly legislation about gathering private data regardless of the country it came from/being used in, even American applications) would be far better approach than outright banning.
We should protect users personal information from just being farmed through the programs they make use of... And that is really the only argument about TikTok. Note how when female on left first refers to legislation she use’s the term deal that’s a big red flag also considering that when she retorts she then references that which she called a deal in a more official light as a by partisan bill to seemingly align her, her interests within bill, imbued diatribe to opposition (mind you her first words for this is deal) as total package as if the way they package bills “legislation” are no more than deals to them across the isle i.e well I would say this would exemplify that from her point of view this must have very little to do with legislation and even less to do with the apparent archaic grouping of bills as practiced and I would assume that this is part of the reason why this legislation is looked at as a battle between two houses and not the means to take care of a republic.

16:32 control the Arctic has been talked about for about 20 years. Currently Russia has the largest coastline in the world in the Arctic. And there is already an existing trade route that Russia uses called the northern sea route. They keep it open year-round, using nuclear icebreakers. The trade route is so important because it cuts trade time from Asian markets to Europe by half. It’s way faster than going through the old trade routes near Egypt and Africa. Which consequently gives Russia a lot of power in the future once the ice melts more. In the US is all butt hurt about it. So they want Greenland so they can control part of the Arctic route.
lYou are right but it has nothing to do with being butt hurt, we have the biggest economy in the world. It’s just strategic common sense, you can’t let your enemies control the market.
@@kaleb5943 Exactly this. Its only intelligent to aim to make your nation more powerful, and in Trump's case if he can make the US a global superpower once more, then he can effectively engage in efficient and productive foreign aid _without breaking the bank_ like was happening during the globalization push in the last 20 to 30 years. If we can get strong enough and have enough overwhelming influence to allow ourselves to move without opposition, we can help other nations rise up and be productive free republics and do so while also reducing the national debt from the obscene, like, nearly 34 trillion that Biden has inflated it to. In the 2016 to 2020 admin, it rose from 19.3T to 22T by mid-2019, and then the globalists released C19 and it surged to 25.2T by the time Sleepy Joe got in, and in Joe's time its risen to 33.82T. Absolutely obscene.
Arctic routes are also relevant to Panama Canal. The (Canadian?) Northwest Passage offers shorter distance between Eastern Seaboard/Europe, and China/Japan. Canada has totally failed to develop this transit opportunity, but the US might step in. US officially declares the Canadian Northwest Passage an international trade route affording unrestricted passage to all, like the Strait of Malacca.
