I passed from teen to adult listening to great Elton John music. In the Summer of 1982 at the age of 26 I was having a relationship with a woman of 36. She looked like Elizabeth Taylor with dark hair and blue eyes. When we were driving and this song came on I would accompany Elton on this song to her. She died a few years later of breast cancer. Need I say more...

Reminds me of my dog, Kippur, she was born in 1982, around the time this song came out. She was half German Shepherd and half Alaskan Malamute...with the most awesome blue eyes. She died in 1996. Kip, I miss you, I haven't owned a dog since...This IS your song, always.

I know the feeling, in my case I think of my cat, "Whitey," (she was born white except for the ears and tail but as she grew she had a face mask and saddle ala "Grumpy Cat") who was probably 1/4th or 1/2 Snowshoe cat but she passed for a purebred one. She had the blues eyes I've ever seen. RIP, Whitey!!! (2001-2012)

It's so hard to believe that Elton John is going to turn 70 in March. Thanks for all the years of great songs. Elton is TRULY a talented musician. I grew up with all these songs. Blue eyes was ALWAYS one of my favorites by him. However I didn't know that this came out in 1982.
