I do and I have a question. I’m going through lipo batteries. I’ll charge them than leave them. Am I killing the batteries. And how do I know a good charge level and discharge level. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks corrie
As a rather new B6 owner (moving up from a Slash) I love your educational videos. Super helpful! Idea for future video(s): what maintenance do you do? After every race day? Every month? Or how you check if something needs maintenace. It is a jungle out there with all the oils, greases and what to change when, or where to apply!
Hi from Spain! Thanks for your videos, It would be nice to have a video explaining all the options for tuning the esc (hobbywing xr10 g2 pro), my local track has been changed from clay to astro and I am completely lost to find a good setup, many people it´s changing turbo timing, boost timing... Thnks!!!
Any advise, tips, tricks for the Traxxas Slash or the Traxxas Bandit? I raced oval parkinglot and dirt oval. Would greatly appreciate any help you could give.
I've been wondering qhatg that setting does, can't wait to try it out. Have you ever tried the "coast" feature. I have had some success with it in regards to improving traction.
I may need to get one of these Wifi Modules.Always heard about it but never believed it made a big difference. I run Hobbywing esc's in all my race vehicles so this may be interresting to play around with vs the lcd program card i use currently.
Love this channel positive humble!! To the point but round the bush as well good music 100% energy and the odd motocross bike as well good stuff dude 🥰🥵✌️
I'm building a modified Rustler in 4WD and 2WD for mainly practice laps and bashing. What would be a great ESC, I have been looking at the VXL 3S and the Sidewinder3/4. Any thoughts, ideas or better suggestions would be great. Thanks everyone.
Hi ! I love your videos they are very nice ! And i want to ask you if you can do à video on the jump techniques beacause i am a beginer in the rc competitions and i want to learn more about it Thanks you ! You are the best 👍
Hey Ryan, I watched a lot of your video's so far, but hadn't seen this one, 'till now... Such a good one man! 😀 I knew there was this setting but not what it stands for and now, because someone explained it very well, I DO 👍🏻😄 Thanks a lot! You should do video's about all of the settings... 🙂 Have a great day!
I'm looking at getting back into RC racing after being out for the past 17 years. I have been trying to find more information about why ROAR requires sensored "stock" motors. Just looking for more info as when I was racing "stock" it was 27 turn brushed motors and nickel batteries. the "stock" class seems to have gotten quite pricey in my absence. Thanks
The X factor in the PWM setting (Pulse Width Modulation) is changing the scale. Imaging having 1k steps vs 16x steps. One is much more fine giving you more steps which will smooth out your throttle curve where 1k steps will be much more touchy. Just think of your regular road vehicle, imagine having 1" of gas pedal to control all your power vs 12" of travel. Its all about the resolution. Cool product, I didn't know about this being available for some ESC's
Just continue doing your best but mainly enjoy the times with pple good are bad memories don't fade away an ppleyou may meet along the way plus you giving back to pole like me an thankx for all the information even if I can't use it I maybe able to help someone else
Can you explain the differences between the punch and frequency settings? They seem the same to me unless punch is just applied at the beginning of the acceleration curve and frequency is applied throughout the whole curve??
It's better to just start a practice run with setting " A " and the switch to setting " B " and see if you notice a change for yourself. I personally feel a difference, but some may not.
Hey Ryan. I came across a printed version from one of the pro drivers cain’t recall but it was a detailed description of the functions of the WiFi module settings that can be changed on the esc. By any chance would you have that info so I could print it out now that I have the module. Thanks and keep up the great work you do for this hobby. You should come to south land speedway and have some fun on a clay oval sometime .
Ryan cant reset the wifi module, I turn on the esc while pressing the reset for more than 20 secs and still nothing only red light. try to connect and I cant. using android, any suggestions? thanks
Question i have a MAX10 an I bought the program card witch gives me a punch level option but on the program card it also says that those specific options are for my esc if I get the wifi thing will it give me more options like the one your going over in this video or will it just give me the options that ive been using once it connects to my esc ?
What happened to the simple Novak flashy light setup. I could have had that same setting (using a GTB2 in a 94 Yok YZ10) adjusted in a fraction of the time it took you to set yours. I'm sure there are many new features available but in comparison to what Novak made available in their ESC's is there anything new that is adjustable through the smart phone that is really relevant?
Very few have blinky lights a couple of the basic Reedy ESC are programed this way. Not to mention a regular progamer box is a lot faster than cycling through all the lights or this wifi gimick.
That is so cool my friend at my local track helped me with my setting to fix it or something but he used that and I was like wow that is the coolest thing ever
Hello Ryan great Vid. I wanted to ask since you are running in Stock blinky mode and you are using a 160A XR10 Pro esc. Why not use the XR10 PRO Stock? Any advantage or does it have more settings. Do you just not want to buy another esc when you move up to mod someday. Thanks.
These are not the same thing. If you are adjusting things on the radio they are only really affecting how you get to the end points of the ESC. The settings on the ESC actually affect how the power is applied to the motor. Unless you think you like your radio to do something to help you out when accelerating, by creating a delay or shortening the trigger pull to get a more aggressive throttle curve. I would just leave everything linear, and adjust the ESC. Now for steering that is a different story. There are lots of ways to make your controller help you out when turning in or out of corner. Most of the throttle adjustments are just for the gas car guys.
kilner79 That’s a Great Question I personally bought it and it Showed me as a newbie some to dos and don’t do’s, keep in mind it’s not the same as real track/pack time but Mr Styles Harris what are your thoughts? My thoughts lacking 1/10th Scale but to my knowledge it is very hard near impossible to add to programming..
Hi Ryan, love the content from your shows, always very beneficial to me with me just starting out. I also have the hobbywing WiFi kit and was wondering if you could do more hints and tips on setup as there seems to be alot of setting I don't really understand? Keep up the great work Kind regards David
Not sure why this is so hard for people to explain. Drive frequency PWM or pulse width modulation is the size of the pulse per second. The lower the number the bigger the pulse (magnetic field produced in the coil) therefore the more aggressive feel. The higher the number the smaller the pulse, just more of them per second. The smaller pulses make the throttle feel smoother. This is just how fast the switch is being turned on and off. This in no way limits the amount of power actually going to the coils. That's why there are other settings to limit power.
Ok cool , i was on the fence about it but since you’re one of the fastest in the series I’ll just do the stand up too . There’s a cold front that’s going to pass by that Friday , so I’m sure those cold temps and rain might affect the high traction.
Anyone else have their car as the background on their phone?!
Ryan Harris nope I have some Indonesian Ghosts ;)
Meeeeeeeee!
Ryan Harris nope but i got my 2013 honda trx450er on mine i think its alot sexier than my 2 kyosho rb6.6's
Ryan Harris it's not a screensaver right now but it used to be
I do and I have a question. I’m going through lipo batteries. I’ll charge them than leave them. Am I killing the batteries. And how do I know a good charge level and discharge level. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks corrie
I love your videos it's helping me get back into rc again it's nice to see someone who uses phil's hobby shop I love that place

Great video suggestion! In meantime all I can say is a clean car is a fast/ happy car!
Thanks for the information. It would be great to have a explanation of all the settings and what it does.

If you already have Hobbywing, this is a great little device! Super easy to adjust your settings for sure.
Love this channel positive humble!! To the point but round the bush as well good music 100% energy and the odd motocross bike as well good stuff dude 🥰🥵✌️

Can you connect the wifi module between the reciever and the esc. So the module stays in your car the whole time. And you can adjust the esc on the go
Hi ! I love your videos they are very nice ! And i want to ask you if you can do à video on the jump techniques beacause i am a beginer in the rc competitions and i want to learn more about it
Thanks you ! You are the best 👍
The way you have your esc receiver, is it more for weight distribution
Hey Ryan, I watched a lot of your video's so far, but hadn't seen this one, 'till now... Cool, quick simple explanation. If you could do a few more Hobby Wing tips, that would be sweet.
I may do a full breakdown of ESC and radio settings in the future if it would please everyone?
I never messed with ghat frequency drive setting, cause I had no idea what it meant. As always, great vid. Thanks Buddy. 😎
Ayyy now ya know!
Yo Ryan - there is also a BRAKE FREQ - that is 0.5k to 4k ... is this setting adjustment the same? 0.5 = High and 4k = Low traction....
What the difference between doing this & turning the throttle rate down?
Ryan great vid hope to see more and by the way what front arms are you running for newberry.
(First time racing dirt)

Ryan why did you switch from the reedy blackbox esc to hobbywing esc ?
I have an xr10 pro esc what motor And battery would be good for drag racing
Just continue doing your best but mainly enjoy the times with pple good are bad memories don't fade away an ppleyou may meet along the way plus you giving back to pole like me an thankx for all the information even if I can't use it I maybe able to help someone else
Do you mount the module or just plug it in as needed?
Great video @Ryan Harris, thanks for sharing!
Do you know if you can get these adjustments with the basic program box/card?
do i spy a jconcepts motor plate in place of the trinity?
🧐
i did the same
less weight and plenty robust
What power supply do you use with your junsi 406duo?
Hi is drag brake used on 2wd buggy s if so what percentage roughly is set please

If you get your hands on it again I would love to see it...
Have you messed with softening value at all?
Hey Ryan, would you mind posting your setup sheet for low traction outdoor tracks
I use the B6D kit setup for that scenario 99% of the time.
Ryan Harris thank you sir. I’ve seen you at some races, you’re fast! I’m a teenager with an American flag painted b6 if you’ve ever seen me.
Will I need a different remote control or is this just for the esc
Ryan cant reset the wifi module, I turn on the esc while pressing the reset for more than 20 secs and still nothing only red light.
try to connect and I cant.
using android,any suggestions?
thanks

If i wnt to upgrade the esc and motor can i run the stock battery or i have to get a more voltage
What frequency would be good for drag racing 132ft 4 wheel drive
Drag racing is boring!
I've never understood the drive frequency settings on my ESC thanks for the explanation
Now ya know! Hope it helps you on the track :D
That is so cool! I don't run Hobbywing, but still really cool! Do you have to use Hobbywing products or will it work with Reedy?
I think this is Hobbywing specific... sorry if this doesn't help you :(
If you mean pairing up a HW ESC and Reedy Motor, It should work
Can you have multiple model profile saved in the app or is it only one model?
Hello Ryan great Vid.
I wanted to ask since you are running in Stock blinky mode and you are using a 160A XR10 Pro esc. Why not use the XR10 PRO Stock? Any advantage or does it have more settings. Do you just not want to buy another esc when you move up to mod someday.
Thanks.
Sometimes I will run mod at club races to save my stock motors for bigger races! So having the ESC that do either is very nice.
What are your other electronics and setup tips when you run on outdoor low bite?
Just send it! lol Less weight up front, more in the rear. Kit setup for shocks :)
Can you use this with the hobbywing justock xr10 esc?
I dont think it does dude, i just bought one (wifi express).. and have been trying to get it to work for the past hour. I do not think its compatible
Exactly the info I was looking for!! Thank you. Subscribed!
How do you decide whether to adjust a setting in the ESC versus on the radio?
These are not the same thing. If you are adjusting things on the radio they are only really affecting how you get to the end points of the ESC. Most of the throttle adjustments are just for the gas car guys.
Once again another great video, wish I went with a Hobbywing ESC and not R1 WURKS.
Do they let you adjust the drive frequency via another way perhaps?
Yes they do via a Program card, so much cooler doing it via an app on your phone though :)
Great tips Ryan. Thank you!
Anytime man!
Looks like a smarter way to set up so u not guessing and burn up your car. I have the xlx Bluetooth link like this set up too
I know this module won't work with castle creation esc , does anyone know if there is a module like this for Mamba's ESC ?
have you thortabout playing vrc pro ? it would be intresting to see how you rate it vs real life
kilner79 That’s a Great Question
I personally bought it and it Showed me as a newbie some to dos and don’t do’s, keep in mind it’s not the same as real track/pack time but Mr Styles Harris what are your thoughts? My thoughts lacking 1/10th Scale but to my knowledge it is very hard near impossible to add to programming..
Super cool Ryan!
do you have to unplug it before you run or can you leave it connected and in your car for faster changes?
The wifi module does come with an additional harness... but my ESC did not talk to the servos while in program mode... so maybe not.
Can it work on my mamba x esc???!!
Hi Ryan, love the content from your shows, always very beneficial to me with me just starting out. I also have the hobbywing WiFi kit and was wondering if you could do more hints and tips on setup as there seems to be alot of setting I don't really understand?
Keep up the great work
Kind regards
David
Does that Wi-Fi modular work with any ESC or just hobbywing ESC?
Just Hobbywing as far as I know
Hey Ryan is there any place I can get a good setup for the supercup at newberry rc park
I'm going there with the kit setup for a B6D based on my experience I had there last year.
Thx for the help
Check petit rc
That's cool for the hobbywing setup even tho I use tekin an great video an information and technology came so far 2day
Sorry if it doesn't translate well with other brands :/
Cool stuff. Thanks Ryan.
I don’t get this adjustment on my v3.1s... is it specific to certain escs? Does the new firmware remove it?
That may be an older generation speedcontrol? I know my Pro Stock and XR10 Pro ESC's have this adjustment option.
v3.1 doesn't have that feature only the xr10
Great video Mann I hope everyone understands that because when I found that out I became a way better driver thanks for all the tips keep racing fun
It's such a great setting to play with! Glad you found it :D
That's why there are other settings to limit power.
Does this work with the eskate ESCs?
Only with specific hobbywing ESC's
Why are your electronics mounted like that?
Stand up ?🤔 is that for newberry?
Testing it just in case...
Ok cool , i was on the fence about it but since you’re one of the fastest in the series I’ll just do the stand up too . There’s a cold front that’s going to pass by that Friday , so I’m sure those cold temps and rain might affect the high traction.
Great tip, and another great video
Thanks man!
No need to say sorry the information is good an the video was worth watching ty
Great explanation!!!
does this work with justock escs?
Noooo
Thanks love my wi fi hobbywing
Thank you! I have learned a lot from watching your videos.
Thanks for watching!
Love your video's I'm new to rc cars and racing and I've learned a lot
Heck yeah! Thanks for watching man :D
Thanks Ryan:)
Dude thats sick bro
Dude, thanks :D
Man ur videos are great
Can you go through the whole app?
There's so many numbers though! haha I may do this in the future...

That sound like timing setting
But it's not
👍🏻
This is 1 reason i think ‘Stock’ is a joke. If we were more true to the word you wouldn’t be allowed or able to do that. -U10
🤔💯💯💯🤜
👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Oh yah I also race against adults and I'm like 12 and for some reason I got 3rd in my first race
Here is a video from Hobbtwing with a not so great explanation of the settings ...but its better than nothing. ua-cam.com/video/VTpwhCZBGDw/v-deo.html
It’s like you learned how to make UA-cam videos by watching UA-cam videos....
