Anyone here after the Djokovic vs. Federer final and feel like that fifth set could’ve been like this if not for the tiebreak?
19-17 for djokovic
VD 27 lol
Djokovic a lucky ass bitch
Except it would be interesting
CRY ME A RIVER FEDTARD AHHAHAHAHAHAHHAH
CYA CYA CYAA MAAAAN
The best thing: they are good friends now. John´s Mom loves Nicolas. Nicolas did´nt won an ATP singles tournament before this match. After this, he won 3 titles, on grass of course.
ok but learn english
John’s mum likes Mahut because he’s rooting her with his french baguette 🥖
@@PeterNash99 ah yes, because everybody knows how to speak perfect english.
@@PeterNash99 Ok, but learn english.
@@jairotipple7731 go learn foreign language first ok !
Funny how anglophone are so dumb and proud in the same time
Thats one good ticket for one game =D
yeah it was worth it lol I was there
3 tickets as the match ran over 3 days.
Won't ever happen again because Wimbledon now had 12-12 fifth set tiebreaker.
@@juster3.146 not just Wimbledon, every grand slam tournament
Simply amazing. What a match. Two warriors. Records were broken. Many people started to love tennis because of the saga of Isner and Mahut at Wimbledon.
The match wasn't necessarily of high quality(which is expected considering both players' playing styles) but man I have immense respect for both these guys..The fitness, endurance and mental toughness to go for this long is just fucking incredible. One of the reasons why I love tennis so much is because it's one of the few sports where you need to have agility, precision, hand/eye co-ordination and high stamina levels to succeed at top level. This match truely showed how incredibly tough the sport of tennis can be at times. Just brilliant stuff
"few sports where you need to have agility, precision, hand/eye co-ordination and high stamina levels to succeed at top level."
Isn't that true for most sports? Especially in you can change "hand/eye co-ordination" to any kind of co-ordination.
@@Pekz00r yeah every sport needs these qualities lol
I can't believe it still took 9 more years after this match before Wimbledon started using 5th set tiebreaks.
It took another mammoth 5th set involving John Isner.
It makes sense for early rounds, but there should be an exception for at least the championship match.
That said, I do like that they give some leeway and let it go to 12-all before the tiebreak
@@TheLocalLtit’s not that way anymore. The 12-12 tiebreak was done away with in 2022.
@@ErikCB912 what is it now
@@TheLocalLt 6-6 10 point tie break in all majors
This record will never be broken
Cant be broke cuz they've changed the rule...
@@YaraMits could change the rule again back to original, you never know :)
@@YaraMits Theoretically, it could be beaten at Roland Garos where there is still no tie break in the fifth set. But on clay, it is unlikely.
@@marcusadamiak9149 It would be amazing to even hit 50 aces in one match at Roland Garros lol. This record can only be beaten at Wimbledon, in a 5 set match, with the old rule.
Not surprising considering isner’s style of play that he has so many long matches with tiebreak sets and marathon final sets

The match has two winners.
This is just amazingly wow..
I cannot forget this match ..
27 dislikes. Who they are ? Electricity providers to Wimbledon?
😁
Mom said one more video before going to bed
Congratulations...now onto the second round
Isner played Theimo de Bakker and got SMOKED. No aces, won like 5 games total. Understandable though, Thiemo was probably like "yesssss, keep playing you two!!!"
Isner hit 100 ACES in that Match
Will never be repeated
Isner scored 112 Aces & Mahut scored 103, both breaking the 100 barrier, with the new rules it seems impossible to ever touch that
As of now, the score is 31027 - 31028 in favor of isner.
Isner it's amazing
This match was longer than the entire womens tournament
🤣🤣🤣
💀
AMAZING!!
Who is watching in 2019?
This Year Wimbledon introduced a new rule
If it goes to 12-12 in the Final Set - Tie Breaker
These were the good old days
I had 3 shits in the time it took this match to finish
@Vedanth Joy shitting multiple times a day is normal for some..its actually healthy bc your body is getting the nutrients it needs
Greatest match of all time
Relived. Wow
This match was an affront to the game of tennis.
Love you Isner
Isner is a giant
6:51 Mahut’s thinking “Somebody kill me right now”
113 aces!
Umpire at end could hardly say the last set scoreline 70-68.
Most intence match ever in the history of tennis
Yeeeerrrr
Wow
What's the background music?
They focus way too much on Isner
John career highlight
Isner RIDICULOUS
That's what happens when you give two servebots extra games and not a tie-break, lesson learned!! lol
Some say they still play
2020
John Mahut
does anyone know the name of the female narrator at 5:28?
Hannah Storm
This is actually ridiculous. It's a good thing for tiebreaks.
Took him until 69 games until he finally ticked over the counter. Only one thing to say to that
NICE
Imagine, this would’ve been just another match if they just played a tiebreaker at 7 all; or 12 all like it is now. Also who’s here in 2020 lol.
Yes. I think the new tie break rule can be applied from knock-out games and let the opening round matches play as per the earlier method of no tie-break in 5th set
Fear more Spear
The Queen should have definitely payed a visit!
At 3:41 , look at the Chair umpire
This was better than Harry Potter.
Imagine if this was the first game set lol.
have you ever seen a tennis match. because you do know it's impossible
Dan Lane i know im late to asking this but how is it impossible considering tiebreaks can last an eternity if the players never get a two point lead
It's far more unlikely for a tie-break to last that long. You only have to get two points ahead to win whereas in the final set you had to get two games ahead to win.
@@DanLaneWowLookAtThisFancyURL It's impossible now, but go back prior to the 1970s, before the tiebreak was introduced, and it could and did.
Song?
😬
second
how can the record be 79 ace in a match for a player but 193 for the game. Makes no sense
Maybe the 193 aces was in a doubles match?
193 combined aces slow
The 193 aces are for both players combined
@@markuscurry9363 Better to be more lenient, and not insult anyone, so that you do not feel bad when you judge yourself. If total is 193 and there are two players playing, 193/2 = 96.5, so even if they had the same number of aces, the record for a person's aces per match would have been 96-97, which is more than 79. So Lf3400 has a point.
@@markuscurry9363 Can you make simple calculations ? If the most ace for a player was 79, the maximum number of aces in a match would be 158 (79 x 2 assuming they tied the record). slow
It wasn't an epic match but a dragging.
this video is so american that it ruins this great tennis moment... :/
