CAMPING KEGERATOR || FULL SIZE KEG!! | How To Make Your Own

- Here’s a list of what you’ll need to build the same kegerator. If it’s your first build I’d suggest taking this list to your Local Home Brew store and asking for some help;
40L Engel
20L Two Zone Engel Extension
19l Pin Lock Keg - Its really important that its a pin lock keg, as normal ball lock kegs are slightly too tall. Make sure its 22” tall and 9” wide. I normally source second hand kegs on gumtree or marketplace. When you find one, change the posts over to ball locks;www.kegland.co... Tap - I like the forward sealing SS Nuka tap;www.kegland.co...
Auto Closing Spring - Its a good idea to fit this to your tap, It will spring the tap shut if its accidentally knocked open;www.kegland.co...
Tap handle - I like the short ball handle;www.kegland.co...
Tap Shank - I used a 100mm one that came with a duotight fitting;www.kegland.co...
2.6kg Co2 bottle- It’ll probably be cheaper to buy one from your home-brew shop when you factor in shipping;www.kegland.co...
Dual gauge co2 regulator - this ones comes with a duotight fitting;www.kegland.co...
Ball Lock Disconnects- You’ll need a Gas one and a Beer one, this style has duotight fittings;www.kegland.co...
Beer/Gas line - I use 4mm ID/8mm OD beer line for both. Cut the beer line to 2m. Gas line length doesn’t matter. All your duotight fittings must be to suit the 8mm OD (Overall Diameter) of this beer line;www.kegland.co...
Cheers!

Absolute legend mate. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… not all hero’s wear capes.
I'd find a spot to hang the outboard motor on the back! Cold homebrew surely is a must when your in the middle of nowhere!
Love the honesty at the start “ it’s just not practical “
Maybe not but it is cool as f&@k , nice work mate 👌🍺
Absolute genius of a bloke. My hero😂😂😂onya cam!
Haha cheers Pete 😂😂
Touring Australia with the Kegerator would be get me frothing..out! another great episode cheers mate
Great ingenuity on this build. For those of you who don't have this fridge but want to dispense from a keg on the road or while camping, check out the Kegland Benchy Carbon. Runs off 12/24V and dont need to keep the keg chilled.
This bloke loves his beer:) To have a keg in your canopy is next level and looks like a fun little project if the need is there. Cheers
Couldn’t think of a better way to start me Saturday, onya cam
That is simply epic! 👌😎🍺🍺 . . . . Woulda loved to see the look on your face when you realised . . . . This is going to fit perfectly!! 😎
. . . . . .now how do I go about getting myself into one of your trips with the boys . . . . 🤣😂😜
Seen a FB post recently where the guy had an upright fridge permanently mounted on a slide in the back of his 200 series with 3 taps out the front, and thought it was a great achievement but definitely not practical for touring. You just achieved practical, modular and bloody awesome!!
Great vid Cam 👍👌
Maybe you should do a brewing vid next . . ? I've never tried it but love my Cooper's pale 👍
Haha i was so wrapped it fit!!
Honestly I don't think I'll ever do a brewing vid, I've been doing it for a while but I'm still a rookie compared to many homebrewers! Theres a channel called 'Little Johns Brewing' which is a pretty good resource 👍👍
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant………I have an old green 40l Engel, looking for a twin zone now, I’m hoping your build will work with my old girl, love your work mate 👍🍻
Cheers mate!
If you can't fill a freezer with fish, might as well be Beer.. Next best thing. I have to get into brewing my own.
I'd tell you it saves money - but id be lying 🤣🤣🤣
One of the most eagerly awaited vids of 2012!! 🍻🍻🍻
2012 ? Looks like you're 10 years late 😉
Haha cheers mate 👍
Love your tips , and travel videos . Looking forward to this one 👍👍
This thing is epic! Nice work!
Great set up Cam. Easy enough follow instructions as well 😉
Pro tip.
I just filled my keg with whisky from my still instead of beer for longer trips to justify the space. No need to keep it cool.
You are frank the tank 😆 bloody awesome mate. You’re a clever clogs with that stuff. Well done
😂 cheers Mike
That is totally awesome, a must have for tailgate parties. I want one 🤣
it's amazing how quickly those kegs run out when a couple of blokes have a beer!
Yeah I hear ya, sometimes wonder if mine have holes in them 😂
i suspect the new kegland ball lock connectors (low profile) would make clearance even better
First time watching your channel awsome job loved the video
Thanks Jaclyn! 🍻
That's so cool, but yes, not so practical, thanks for your honesty
Respect man, absolute respect!!!!!
🍻🍻🍻
So honest, it's impractical haha still up there with the best mod I've seen to date
Mmmmmm beer. Home brew beer. Time to get the fermenters out I think. Pale ale and a ginger beer for starters. I have a few old waecos. You can use pine to make a frame and reuse lid or make a plastic or timber lid with a bit of insulation. Mount tap through timber frame. I just silicon timber to the plastic top. I did a conversion on a few household chest freezers a while back. Holds 4 kegs.
Absolutely Tim, there’s some beautiful looking kegerators with timber collars 👍🏼
Hey Cam, Great build!
The kegs are ball lock though. Pin lock are the really tall ones and def wont fit.
In your assembly footage you connect gas, then the beer disconnect with no line attached, this will spray beer everywhere. Connect all your lines before attaching to a pressurised keg. :)
I think it's worth pointing out that 1 keg is about 2.5 cartons of beer good for a weekend away with some mates for sure.
Again great build - I've always used a jockey box but these are ice hungry and a lot of phaffing about. Yours is totally lux!
Nick it’s a pin lock keg. With ball lock posts and ball lock disconnects. Parts list is in the description.
Has to be done this way to fit. Ball lock keg is an inch taller and the lid would not shut. But pin lock disconnects are also too tall- which is why ive swapped out for ball lock posts/disconnects.
@@WildTouring Mate would a standard work without the disconnects?
@@michaelmasters6320 take it from the bloke that removed the pin lock posts from the keg and replaced them with ball lock posts & disconnects…
This is 100% a pin lock KEG with ball lock POSTS. It measures 23” tall and 9” wide.
Whereas the dozen or so ball lock kegs I have of all different brands measure 25” tall and 8.5” wide and absolutely will not fit inside this kegerator.
@@michaelmasters6320 nope. Just the keg alone is too tall- unless you tried cutting down the rubber base and handles. Not sure if that would work.
The new horizontal ball lock disconnects from Kegland would probably fit.
I was going to say it but you said it all in the first few mins. Haha. Very impractical but very cool! Haha!
I find it's just way easier to fill a heap of PET bottles directly from my home kegerator & take those instead of taking a keg and CO2 bottle.
Haha yeah that’s definitely the easier and cheaper option!
love it, any youtube footage of your brewery set up
Mint bro
Dirty thumbs up 👍
That's unreal mate I'll definitely be using this cheers 👍🏽
Legend! 🤩
Luv it mate, absolute legend !!
Making me thirsty Cam.
P.s - you need to amend your sign off to include young Brodie! 😁
If I drank beer I’d love it 🤣🤣🤣
Great build. Any chance of getting the beer recipe?
You must really love your beer..
BUT! great work :D
I do 😂
insane vlog- mr. :)
Dress 3! easy choice
Mate look Bushman’s fridges up. Aussie company and built for 4WD
Good Stuff 🍻🇦🇺🤠👍
Love the content thanks Cam…what’s the backing music mate?
Great camp fire tunes with a few beers and plenty of laughs.
Cheers mate, not sure what the track was - It was from my music subscription but I delete them as I finish an edit!
Hi Cam. Pretty sure that is ball lock fittings, not pin lock. Pin lock are the taller ones.
Yeah it’s a pin lock keg with ball lock fittings (it’s all in the description with links). That’s the shortest combination and only way you can fit it all in the fridge.
@@WildTouring got ya.
Hey mate, just thought I'd let you know I know nothing about kegs and haven't read the description at all, but that keg is definitely one that holds beer not balls or pins.
Hahaha good on ya Adrian 😆😆😆
Nice job. I became super thirsty during this video
When are the home brew videos coming up 🤣 we know how to keep the beer cool now we need the beer and ginger beer rundowns 🍻👌🏼
I don't think I'll ever do homebrew vids, I'm a rookie compared to 90% of homebrewers! It would be a bit like me giving fishing tips 🤣
@@WildTouring 🤣🤣 it’s good to see a rookie do it just to show how easy it is 🤣
I'd love to see this in a bit more compact/practical build.
Checkout glycol chilling mate, much smaller and possible more convenient and cheaper.
I've looked into it before. Definitely an option, just don't know how it would fare in a 4x4 off-road. 12v car fridges are designed to be rattled around.
Love this vid. I have the exact same engel but I can't find the Twozone attachment second hand -where should I be looking? Triad Gumtree...
Not a waist off space. Same as 4 slabs.
Hey Cam awesome mate. Why so much length on beer line?
Slows the beer down and keeps c02 in solution (no froth), otherwise I’d have to drop the Gas pressure to get a good pour and beer wouldn’t be as well carbonated 👍🏼
Delicious
Great vid mate
How tall is this please?
I actually forgot to comment first. 😅 But nice vid 👌
Haha gotcha!!!
Hey mate live you work, just wondering how many litre of beers you can get ?
19L, which is about 2 cartons 👍🏼
It’s great to have the option to have your kegerator on trips though you may need to rethink where to put the outboard as an option. Where did the idea & name derive from pls?
Yeah haven't quite come up with a solution to bring both yet. The idea/name for a Kegerator? Keg + Refrigerator = Kegerator. Its basically just a small home scale version of what pubs do to serve draft beer. It's been a pretty popular way for homebrewers to package and dispense homebrew for a while now. At home I have a 4 tap kegerator that generally has soda water, cider, ginger beer and beer on top
hey cam, whats the pineapple rum mix you made in your ikegger?? cheers bud
Does your beer go flat by the time you reach your destination?
Hi Cam brilliant job. Just like to ask you opinion if I may. My boy tried using a large esky two 5lt kegs with a length of tubing all contained in the esky. He forced carinated the kegs in his keezer at approximately 43psi then used a soda stream bottle located outside the esky for operating gas at 14psi. Unfortunately it frothed up. Do you think that's due to forcing the carination or the gas bottle at a different temperature to the liquid or both?
Nothing to do with temp of the gas bottle.
It’ll be either his beer lines are not long enough, he’s over carbed by force carbing OR both!
@@WildTouring Thank you for the prompt reply. I'll pass that on to him. He was very interested when I showed him what you had done.
so that's a pinlock keg with ball lock connections?
Yeah bang on. Pin lock keg with ball lock posts and ball lock disconnects. It’s the only way it will all fit in this setup.
Is it safe to have the gas bottle in a cold fridge cheers………..yes I do think it’s very cool
Yes mate absolutely fine! 🍺🍺
cool overrules any other rationale
Is there a particular brand of keg as the one I bought is too tall!!
19l Pin Lock Keg - Its really important that its a pin lock keg, as normal ball lock kegs are slightly too tall. Make sure its 22” tall and 9” wide. I normally source second hand kegs on gumtree or marketplace. When you find one, change the posts over to ball locks;www.kegland.com.au/multi-post...
Does it formant in the keg? Or is this done prior?
I don't ferment in the keg, too much sediment in the bottom and it changes the flavour over time. I ferment in a 30L plastic barrel for a couple of weeks and when it hits final gravity I transfer it to the keg and carbonate it.
Luckily I never sold my 40L Engel 🙌🏼
Haha get to it!!!
It must 5 o clock somewhere lol just set them up
Fkn oath bro 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Completely impractical but BEER!
You get it! haha
epic
Hi Do you need some great lighting for your car to help you better driving, off-road. We're the pro auto lighting manufacturer for nearly 20 year and we're looking for sponsorship!
Appreciate the offer, but not looking to collaborate with any brands at the moment.
your using ball lock kegs btw
No I’m not. Im using pin lock kegs with ball lock posts and disconnects. List of parts is in the description.
This would be nearly as dangerous as the centre console fridges.....
If not more.
Haha yeah you're probably right. Have been thinking about chopping up my console to stick a fridge in there.
@@WildTouring mines in an 80 so no chopping. But can be dangerous lol. Holds like 12 cans. Or 10 stubbies.
Bet this is a popular post🤣
😂 I’ve been smashed with msgs since I posted a vid of it in an Instagram story
👍🇦🇺🍺❤️
Beautiful but 2 cartons in an esky or fridge not worth the fuck around man cool though I’d let you pour me one 🍺🍺🍺🍺
haha yeah its totally impractical. But other than the collar I had all the gear in the shed so thought id give it a whirl. It is great for an overnighter with the lads🍺🍺
You should give this product a go. It's probably a better option:
ua-cam.com/video/Vla8Z_QK854/v-deo.html
Yeah I’ve had a look at the benchy before, it looks like a great product. Just not sure how it would go with corrugations/being rattled and bounced around? The car fridges are designed for just that.
Also, with kegs at ambient temps in the back of a sealed canopy in WA, temps will swing from 10 degrees over night to 50 degrees during the day. My concern would be that getting gas pressure dialled in right would be really difficult?
For those reasons I havnt taken the $900 punt!
@@WildTouring Sounds like we have to supply you one for you to test out! What is your email address?
@@KegLand wildtouring1@gmail.com
Look forward to hearing from you, I’ve got heaps of your gear 👍🏼
Why does any bloke do anything. Because it’s cool. Who cares how dumb impractical or expensive it is 😅
"Honestly, this thing is pretty impractical". -- lol. so what, don't let practicality come between a man and a cold beer.
😂
