Just for your information, Those large vents on the side are not just for looks, they genuinely are a semi open set, now I know why the soundstage is so good, I blocked the tips and sure enough the music is playing through the vents, quite amazing at this price.

The graph looks like the hammered down all the first tow peaks on the old ZS10 Pro, and gave it a bit more bass. The ZS10 Pro was one of my favorite KZ IEM's.
It's great to see KZ improving their dynamic drivers sets, since that scandal involving their BA/EST and others multidrivers set And I think that if they focus on better DD sets, KZ can really grow up and make top notch sets. That agressive marketing strategy doesn't work anymore
Man kz breaking price bracket. They gave high level of treble details and big extension with cra. Now they are giving wide soundstage with esx. These features were considered premium features for iems.

I loved the cable, it is very different from the normal cable I got in KZ zs10 pro, I like how it was in a tube plastic and has different color stripes, and the plug is also different, it is more compatible with my phone. But best of all the earphone has very good design ♥️
I noticed your graphs on squig for the ESX and TRN TA1 Max are quite similar - if you had to choose one for imaging and soundstage between the two which one would you pick?
These are really good. Like really good bass. I am trouble finding more expensive IEMs much better than these. They compare closely with much more expensive IEMs with similar v shape tuning.
Just got this off a price I cannot refuse , KZ had often been criticized for their kind of extreme V-shape tuning and their sometime over the top multiple driver design , the ESX totally go the other way , and this might be , at current roster the most non KZ kind of an IEM from KZ themselves , the sound is actually very good for its price , but it will need some help from the owner , first off , ditch the stock tips and use some that seal and fit better , the cable is fine but you can improve upon it with 3rd party upgrade , and a more powerful driving source than your typical smartphone would shine through the listening experience Its a keeper

@@ianfann my ESX finally arrived. So far its really impressive for the price. Bass doesnt bleed to mids and trebles, mids slightly recessed, treble hotness is almost at the limit which not sibilant and energetic, good imaging, clarity, layering but what bothers me is the soundstage. Based on reviews i expected soundstage would be good there is just a little soundstage lol. Maybe because i m using stock tips?

I would say that the esx is something like an upgrade to the zes. Zes would sound warmer and have more texture as Compared to the esx but I would prefer the esx

Against iem's like the aria and T3 plus, it's up there with them easy, possibly better depending on personal preference, They have an open airy stage that the others lack, they used a proper driver in these, IDK how the fuk they are making any money on these.

@@ianfann I don't know what is real meaning of sound stage but if soundstage mean the feeling of wide distance from right to left, it means vocal voice is at far from ear. If this is right, your review is correct.

hmm not really metallic, but the tone and timbre would sound less warm as compared to EDA or CRA+
