They have been more about activism than news for quite some time. Over the last decade or so it's more about twisting things to fit political and social agendas instead of staying out of it and reporting on things unbiasedly. Norwegian onlooker here, it seems to me that the reaction after Biden not having the best debate night has been a bit over the top.
On one hand, I appreciate the ability and readiness of the Democrats to be realistic about the possibility of their candidate not being up to the task,
it is a stark and refreshing contrast to the cult behavior of the GQP.
But the near-hysteria after one off night for Biden was a tad surprising.
And the media's focus on Biden's poor night while hardly mentioning trump's terrible night of blatant vile lying and avoiding answering questions, is just shameful!
I'm hoping most of the audience were sensible enough to see what was going on, especially that the undecided didn't let themselves be bewitched by trump's arrogant lies.
I'm honestly baffled that there still are undecided people out there. They must be _considerably_ under-informed to not see clearly that trump is in every way possible a ruinous and horrible choice.

The middle class has been depleted and most of us can't even afford the average home, our average income is significantly below it, and people have taken on more than 2 jobs to get by. We haven't fixed healthcare, we haven't fixed the student debt problem, we haven't fixed social security or Medicare, we STILL have high inflation, we're still involved in foreign wars that have no end in sight, we have not made ANY progress on the environmental issues or climate change, and we have the largest budget and trade deficit in American history with $35 trillion dollars in national debt alone. Oh yeah, on top of that, we have high tax revenue yet NOTHING to show for it. You're blind and so is every person that wants Biden to continue. Pick someone else.

If CNN hosts another debate perhaps you should go to some colleges and watch some kids debate so you can see how it's done. This last debate was not how you do it. You give the debaters a subject to debate like ; abortion, healthcare, elder care, child care. You throw the subject up and have the debaters debate their side of the issue. I would have liked to see an actual debate. That was not one.
Effective leadership requires both honesty and competence, and failing in either area can have serious consequences for public trust and policy. Trump has neither.
