I shot, owned, and carried Glocks for almost 10 years, until I tried the S&W M&P M2.0 series of pistols... I migrated over to the M&P and never looked back. About 5 years later, I'm still very pleased with my decision. Good things! 👍
Great vid. Glock has literally made their brand on not changing "perfection". I'm a glocktard and Beretta fanboy and I admit freely that the glock has very stiff competition. Reliability, mag interchangeability, pop culture and the aftermarket are what keep Glock on top. They shouldn't charge more than $500 for their optic ready models and should definitely have steel sights. So many pistols bring you more for less money.
…yet people keep coming back to the brand. Glock. In fact, no other polymer pistol is copied and counterfeited more by the aftermarket companies out there than Glock. Palmetto State Arms (PSA) should really change their name to “Palmetto State Glockery.”
Palmetto State Armory is more than the Dagger! Way more... ammo, ak, ar, seller of other manufacturers, rock, Jakl, parts kits, etc and so forth!!! @colt10mmsecurity68
@@colt10mmsecurity68 If you think PSA only makes a Glock clone, to say you've been living under a rock is an understatement. PSA makes virtually everything you can think of.
For me, the biggest advantage Glock has is in it's simplicity and ease of breakdown. You can literally change/repair just about anything on a Glock with a single tool.
I have 2 M&P 2.0s 9mm, the 4” compact (Glock 19/19x size) and the 3.6” Subcompact (Glock 26 size).. I don’t own any glocks and don’t plan to. I think the only advantage is “Glock mags” but honestly you should buy your own magazines for your firearm and not bank on finding them laying around everywhere in shtf
My 19X is still the pistol im taking with me if SHTF. Cant beat that glock reliability. I actually carry the m&p2.0 for my side arm at work as a private security contractor, its a great gun too but 19x is mu ccw edc
Glock dismisses TONS of business by not dropping their Gen3 price tags - the industry has proven they shouldn't be more than 299 bucks (NEW).. Think of all the different brands that currently flourish beneath THAT particular shade tree.. I can freely admit that innovation has never been Glock's strong suit, but most of their customers accept that. The complaint section sounds way bigger than it actually is.. Most Glocktards like me are perfectly fine with stock parts, and don't usually change out more than night sights, and replace that stupid 14 pound New York trigger bar with a standard weight trigger bar. Sometimes simple is best. Nothing (at all) wrong with innovation, and S&W took that ball and ran the hell out of it..
hks956, that would suit me perfectly fine. I haven't found anything about a Gen5 (or Gen4) that I couldn't live without. I said that Glock wasn't well known for innovation, but that isn't correct - Glock is one of the biggest innovative influences in the industry. Rather, Glock isn't known for their CONTINUOUS innovation.. PSA Dagger continues to offer more features that Glock fans have been clamoring for decades to have added.
M&p does beat glock. On full size line and compacts. Still love glocks, they shoot well and they are simple. But the m&p shoots just as good, more ergonomic and are also very simple, but while offering literally all the features we are asking for.
They're both great guns and I have both. I prefer the m&p over the Glock because I shoot it better. I paid $599 for the m&p optics ready with the threaded barrel and $629 for the g19x optics ready with the threaded barrel. Both came with metal suppressor height sights and two magazines.
Glocks are great for the aftermarket business. They’re the only gun you need to spend a small fortune on aftermarket pieces just to make them equal to other brands out of the box. But they’re reliable….blah blah blah. So is my Walther, HK, CZ and S&W.
Thx for the video. Both brands are great. I like M&p 2.0 just a little more. But having said that, if I could only own one pistol, it’d have to be g19. Just because of the simplicity, reliability, aftermarket support, parts compatibility with so many LE agencies, etc. But luckily I don’t have to have one pistol! Question- why do you prefer the 19x over the G45?
Great Vid. I don't consider myself a "fanboy", but I do have several S&W sidearms. Regardless of what you have, practice practice practice. Should you have questions about the reliability of what you have, research is free and learning anything is permanent. I have several S&Ws because when I went looking, S&W provided the best value at that time. Which brand sidearm is best? The one you have, learn to put rounds on target. Trigger drill, while it can be boring...or a lot less entertaining, many of the best competition shooters advocate it, not sure about everyone else but I do it. Do you really want to come in second place when defending your family and home? As cool as all these CCW sized sidearms are, these are meant very close quarters. They are great for CCW, for home defense I believe a full size is a much better choice. Which ever you chose, practice is paramount.
I was told smith and Wesson has a lifetime warranty. I don’t currently own anything. One thing i don’t get is the light. It tells an intruder where you are and where to shoot.
I like Jerry Micheleck, he lives about 70 miles from me, and yes he's an awesome shooter but he's sponsored by S&W so that's why he shoots them. He definitely prefers them over other guns going back to his revolver days.
I have the gen 1, 2.0 and another 2.0 with the new trigger. The gen 1 m&p trigger i liked better than glocks trigger. After shooting back and forth between my glock model 45, and a canik mete sft, the m&p i like most, canik not too far behind the m&p. Glock in last. Price not a factor? M&P. Price a factor? Canik.
I'm a safety freak. I was a CZ guy until I got my first S&W 2.0 and now I have 3. I was never a Glock fan and I've owned a gen 1 and 2 Glock 17's from 88-92 then I got rid of the brick.
I have the same M&P and I had a Glock but the M&P is way better. Glock is a good reliable gun and everybody knows the name Glock. Just because most law enforcement use Glock everybody wants a Glock. There's a vidio on youtube about 3 guys doing torture tests on about 12 different hand guns and they buried each of the guns in mud, water, dirt and gravel and every single gun only fired once after that and wouldn't chamber another round except one gun and it was the M&P 2.0! They were absolutely blown away and they had top of the line brands of guns but the M&P won. What a great gun!
Just like the AWESOME SOOTCH says ((""we live in the golden age of Firearms"")) 95% of ALL guns are good enough for EDC it's just PERSONAL PREFERENCE!!!!!!! PERIOD.
I also agree. I also own the new s&w m&p 2.0 9mm compact 4.0. It just shoots better, plan and simple. That is just the opinion of an old jar head. Go try it, and you'll understand. Simper fi.
I have the gen5 glock 23 and the mp 40 g2 compact. The mp is more accurate and stays in my hand way better. Reliability is equal, but I carry the mp 40 pretty much all the time. I feel much more confident with it.
I'm personally a Glock guy. I have a 19X, and it's easily my favorite glock and my go-to. I do have the M&P 2.0 4 inch in 10mm, and I love it. There are no issues with it at all, but it's a lot of gun. My current ccw is a G48, mos, and it's a solid carry option for me. I'm debating getting the 2.0 9mm compact 3.6 and giving that a shot. Great video and comparison.

Good things! 👍
Also the M&P 2.0 have the metal reinforcement in the lower frame starting from the front.
Just to clarify that's the M&P 2.0 Full size with a 4.25" barrel
I have that exact set up and I love it
Thank you! Exactly the comparison I was looking for.

No contest. M&P is better. 18 degree grip angle, better cold and dirt reliability, better trigger, US company.
Have to agree. No complaints with my Glocks. But I switched from Glock to M&P and most of my family is carrying a S&W or Ruger. Thank you.
hope the ones carrying ruger have revolvers not semi autos

I've owned 7 Glocks and love them. My last buy was a 2.0 compact FDE OPTICS READY Smith&Wesson , and I'm very pleased. Fit and finish is excellent.
Great review, sir. Where'd you find the two-tone TLR7?
I've said for the last 3 years that M&P 2.0 is THE best value in handguns... Reliable, accurate, comfortable in the hand... Super firearms.
People always say something else is better, but for some reason, they always go back to Glock.

I’ve had experiences with both, in my experience these guns are indestructible and I’ve never seen one fail.

The big box stores near me sell out of gen 5 models all the time but the gen 3s are always in stock for 550 out the door. That is insane.
Dumb is what is but thats Glock

I actually like the hinge trigger on the older models
Great video and comparison.
what mags are those on the M&P?
Smith and Wesson Shield Plus $399. Safety trigger and manual safety great option. A lot of people complain about the sandpaper grip. Good video

Glock's center goal is reliabiility. M&P is as weil. The fancier clones lose that sometiimes trying to be differernt and better.
I swapped to the M&P. I got the bug out bundle and realized how good of a gun it is, now I have the full size.
I’m glad to hear and see it , I’ve been saying the same for year to the fellas , they don’t wana listen lol

M&P is reliable and durable. They also have a large after market support, maybe not as big as Glock but I think M&P second place in that aspect.
@@eu1776everything you just said about m&p you can say the same for Glock
I had an original M&P and it stank to high heaven. That was years ago and I've been afraid to go back.
Gee thanks. Trying to talk myself out of getting a M@p 9mm compact. I think the G19X is the best Glock but the best Generation is Gen 3.
