    I am glad you finally made this video.
    You helped me originally and everytime I ran into a fellow r6 user I told them what you told me and also where to find your channel.
    Needless to say it has worked for all of us.
    Great work Daniel I was glad to see your channel went over a thousand subscribers.
    I have no doubt your channel will continue to grow and grow, thanks again for helping me when I first got the r6.

    Thanks a lot!! The out-of-the-box settings don't to do the R6 much favor. I was really disappointed by the objekttracking. This should definately help!

      Yea there is just so many options that you have to get the right ones for you. Crazy something like 400 pages in the manuals. Old EOS 500 had 20 pages.

    I use the Canon Eos R, and I have only EF lenses, but I can still select the focus speed, even with non canon lenses. That setting is available only on single point AF.

    hi with my r6 and 35mm, the focus in photo mode is so fast but in video it becomes too slow, (sound of focus motor doesnt matter to me i just want it to be fast),
    my af settings are
    moving servo af at + 2
    moving servo af track sensitivity at + 3

    You should make a video showing the best AF settings for video when shooting fast moving objects such as Motocross or Radio Control cars!

    How do you set to focus on the background like for real estate video where I want everything in my frame in focus

    • @DanielWhiteWithCanon
      @DanielWhiteWithCanon  3 роки тому +2

      Hi Porscha. Using wider angle lenses and a higher Fstop will do the trick. Most things will look in focus at about F8 if the focus point is further than 10 feet.

    Hello daniel , can you please tell me what settings you keep in af speed , af tracking sens. And switch track. Sub. For vloging and broll kind of stuff . Everytime i move from my room to balcony it takes around 10-12 sec. To expose my face perfectly? Thankyou

    • @DanielWhiteWithCanon
      @DanielWhiteWithCanon  3 роки тому +1

      Hi anshul pathak. Well first the AF and the auto-exposure are two different things. For vlogging I tend to turn down the AF speeds and move the settings to make it one or two clicks less responsive on the AF and that does the trick. your exposure problem is a different system controlling that doing center metering would probably be best that or spot.

    Hi Daniel, first, thanks so much for the videos... they are well thought out and so well executed; I have learned a lot. A problem I have re video, being a photographer mostly, is the codec with the R6 and I hope you can help me. I filmed on 1920x1080 50.00fps stadard (IPB) FDH... playback on the camera is perfect... but once I transfered the files into the computer (Windows 10), I can't find a way to view the MP4 files. I have searched the web for info and so far haven't come up with a solution. I would be so pleased if you could offer a solution or guide me on the right path. (sorry this is off topic, but as I saw you were dealing with video...) thanks in advance

      Hey J Hogan! The short answer is that you will need editing software like premiere pro to use the footage. I am pretty sure this applies to the Clog and the none Clog.

    Hallo Daniel,
    thank you for the video. So I have two questions. Do I understand correctly: when filming a video, you cannot move the focus point via touch focus on the display, but you can only choose between 0-2 people or animals using a button?
    And one more question: I live in Germany with artificial light at 50 Hz frequency. If I film with 30 fps I would like to select the shutter to 1/50 in order to avoid flickering, but otherwise leave all automatics on. E.g. I would like to continue to have auto exposure and ISO auto. Is the? But I have the impression in your video that you can wsith the R6 unfortunately only choose between fully automatic and fully manual with the R6? Only two movie modes? That seems very limited video modes to me for a camera body that will cost 2700 Euros in May 2021.
    Yours,
    Oliver

    I've been playing around with the AF settings on my R6, and I can still see noticeable jumps when I move towards or away from my camera. What settings would you use if your subject is moving towards the camera at walking speed?

    • @DanielWhiteWithCanon
      @DanielWhiteWithCanon  2 роки тому +2

      Seems like you need to turn down how fast the AF motors will adjust. That or increase how sticky the af is to the subject one or both of those adjustments should do the trick. Also try in a high contrast area where you subject doesn’t blend in with you background and is well lit.

      @@DanielWhiteWithCanon What setting do I adjust for "how fast the AF motors will adjust"? Sorry, I'm just getting used to the menu.

      hey Daniel, have a question, I just bought the R6, I am running a adapter for Canon EF lenses, I am using a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 and when recording video I notice the frame skips while recording, any recommendation to get rid of this?

  • @ElBoyoElectronico

    I have a question. For my UA-cam channel I am using a slider with the R6 on it, which records me playing drums from a side angle. I tried different settings, but the autofocus wasn't able to keep me in focus for longer chunks of time. What makes it complicated, is that I am moving behind the drumset and that the camera itself is moving at the same time. Also, my eyes aren't pointed towards the camera. I actually want to lock the focus of the R6 on my head. Do you have any advice for me?

    • @DanielWhiteWithCanon
      @DanielWhiteWithCanon  3 роки тому

      Probably shoot at f8 and manual focus the shot.

    • @ElBoyoElectronico
      @ElBoyoElectronico 3 роки тому

      @@DanielWhiteWithCanon Hmmm, yes, that should solve the problem, but the shot would lack any toneh ;) What's weird to me, is that my Canon M50 was able to track objects way more reliably in this scenario. Therefore I thought I missed a setting. With what settings would you try to make the autofocus work in this scenario? AF on, servo mode and track faces or single point af?

    • @sammyh9542
      @sammyh9542 2 роки тому +1

      @@ElBoyoElectronico assign one button to “AF servo off”. After focusing, turn off the servo and you would be good to go with any aperture you need. Good luck.

    • @DanielWhiteWithCanon
      @DanielWhiteWithCanon  3 роки тому +1

      I am pretty sure what you are talking about happened because I turned down the RF AF speed and my leaning back and forth was faster than the camera was able to keep up with. By product of me shooting the setting beforehand and not setting things back to normal after most likely. But the lens would have been the Rf 35mm and the R6.
