I appreciate the fact that you emphasize the problem of grid demands. It takes 10 years just to get approvals for power stations in Canada, it's absurd to think that the grid will supplement this huge influx of demand. I am all for personal solar panels and I do think battery tech will evolve but the upfront costs are not everyone. Keep up the good work!

Ban anything is bad very bad but
    Here some point:
EV is not only for co2 or global warming its about energy indipendens , and politics
EV is not good for USA, Russia because these countries are huge and producers of crude oil
USA push ice because of crude oil and dollar
China push ev because of huge reserve of Lithium.
Europe try EV because they have lot resources of renewal energy like wind , solar and geothermal.
India need ev because we have solar and we have to tackle pollution.
I need EV because of oil price is Higher than electricity price.😊😊
Serial hybrid is good for heavy vehicle.
Its add extra weight and extra price (without adding power like parallel hybrid)in car and include all ice complications like pollution standards.
Government need to subsidized ev, and battery ♻️ recycling, interconnecting the grid.

As a start, can we convert existing petrol stations to ev fast charging stations by running the chargers on diesel/petrol/CNG generators on site?
That way we convert every EV vehicle into a series hybrid.😅
Overtime, hopefully someone could figure out a way to greenify the infrastructure by running the generators on biodiesel or biogas or similar.

Okay i will explain but atleast acknowledge it in a video 🙂
    Soo this is it
    Ice(30hp) + clutch + motor/gen (120hp) + clutch connected to wheels
no gear box nothing just a single gear reduction after motor (single speed transmission)
    Reason
Lets say optimum rpm range of ice is 1500rpm to 4500 rpm (it may vary from engine to engine) the power output at that rpm will be directly proportional lets say it will be 10hp at 1500rpn and 25hp at 4500rpm
Now the gear reduction unit is just fixed to operate such that at 80kmph its 4500rpm for ice
(Eg. Tesla modle 3 consumes 16kwh for 100km travel at 100kmph, roughly 23hp ) so during long cruise at 80kmph you can easily run primarily from ice
Now this wont work if you have to accelerate and decelerat frequently (aka the real-world)
For that and that alone you have the 120hp motor it can also start the engine acting as starter motor when engaged with clutch
if needed beyond 80 you will lose efficiency and motor would also kick in consuming power from battery and to go beyond the operating rpm of the engine the clutch is disengaged and the motor is the only thing driving
Now low rpm high load 120hp motor takes care (cause of good torque of ev) high rpm low load still the motor takes care
During cruise at 60-80kmph the ice will be most efficient
If needed the ice and the motor/gen can be disconnected with the driveshaft to generate power to store it in batteries when the power runs low

you dont enough ICE please go to any one that deals with ICE engine and tell them "no gear box nothing just a single gear reduction after motor (single speed transmission) " for Road vehicle or even better share one car that is this ONE model that does not need multi speed transmission {CVT to torque converter to dual clutch transmission} U cant run engine directly coupled to the wheels no matter what If u cant get this part I am sorry u dont get RPM & torque are independent vector

You are talking about something similar like or exactly like range extenders again "same problem"
You don't need a gearbox because in normal cars you don't need 150hp continuous. Engine rpm is directly dependent on vehicle speed and that can be optimised for one speed (or range) if you cross that it simply disconnects and when u come back in that range it connects again, or when the car is at stop 🚥 it runs at optimum rpm and charges the battery.
And series hybrids have way too many parts and dead mass , inverter for the generator and inverter for motor separate and no they can't work in tandem for obvious reasons , the cost will be automatically high and economically it's not feasible. Having a cheap part wear down every 3 years (clutch pack) is not a big deal.
And average 50km a day the engine would have no need to even start

there is a good chance u are talking about something else as this line is "You don't need a gearbox because in normal cars you don't need 150hp continuous." stupid u need gear box or multi-speed transmission to couple ice rpm to road need so clearifiy this part first

  • @Raksha-c9t

Ooh no no , you got it wrong parallel hybrids are not bad and clutch packs are way simpler than gearboxes so what happened was you wanted quicker 0-60 times that's why parallel hybrids with a gearbox was required and like 2years ago when models s plaid hit 1.99s it became a marketing thing soo that's y its the way it is
Actually parallel hybrids are way more efficient in terms of material use (not talking about supercars) an average car would need like at max 100-150hp so in series hybrid 150 hp motor on top of a 25-30 hp engine + 25-30 hp generator + 15kw battery pack
But parallel hybrid is way superior because
U have 12kw hr battery with a 30hp engine + clutch pack + 120hp motors directly connected to wheels and that's it
It's not going to be the quickest in any way but it will be almost as efficient as series hybrid but wit way less dead mass

    • @s2tenglish
      @s2tenglish  2 місяці тому +1

series hybrid is better not in efficiency but in everthing else like reliability & maintenance & cost of ownership. U need gear box if have ICE engine no matter what or u have to use series path like diesel locomotive. u know what is better than clutch packs and gearbox NON OF IT . Best part is NO part .parallel hybrids is great for F1 why money is no object for them nor the Complex maintenance needed . complexity is the enemy of Reliability look into Edison motor realworld truck than can stand toe to toe will ALL EV or ICE and does not even cost like F1
