Instant coffee is a great way to do this without having to deal with the grounds. You also can bette control the darkness and viscosity of the liquid you use to dye you paper.
I love handouts. My process is a bit simpler. I use regular printer paper, and black tea because it's what I have on hand. No need for a foam brush, I just let the paper soak thoroughly in it - tearing is rarely a problem. Sometimes I leave the tea bag sitting on it to make a darker splotch. Then I let the paper dry in the dish rack or on a cookie sheet. I like how yours looked coming out of the oven. I'll try that next time. Thanks for the tips. Love your setup. Jealous that your DM sent you a three page lore drop!
Normally I would use tea as well, but I found the saturation of the coffee works a little faster and keeps the paper from becoming totally soaked; that being said I also have no patience so I go overboard with any of it
This showed up in my feed again. and I did not remember it right away. Sadly, can only like it once. I also do not recall unsubscribing, so resubbed now. Keep up the great content.
I just tear my printer paper into quarters and write wanted posters, requests, and notices on them along with a corresponding picture. I use the same method for making fake Polaroid photos as if I’ve captured a special moment in the characters’ lives. (Magic.)
My husband is the DM for our group and so far I am the only player he has killed in a campaign. Some of the best times I've ever had playing d&d happened when I died.

Great point! But if my barista PC finds instant coffee in my house I’m done for!
@@theblackgauntlettavern8133 do it one better and use the dollar store stuff. You don't have to drink it, after all!
I lost it at “I’m frightened, send help”
Also Lemon juice and baking it in the oven if all you have is normal printer paper. It makes great wanted posters.
I love that! Wanted posters of the party members i hope
@@theblackgauntlettavern8133 That is a great idea! Especially if they changed based on actions of the party and any major change of dress .
@@Zael_Moonblade I love PC consequences

Wow! Finally a good use for coffee. Also char marks are cool and add character. :)
Some interesting ideas here, and an entertaining video.
Great video; I really enjoy your demeanor and style. I hope you keep going!
Thanks so much, new content ideas soon!

Kindest thing I've been told all day! Thanks!
Apparently soy sauce makes a great dye for aging paper too. I haven't tried it yet, but I saw it on another video a while back form another channel.
I’ll have to try it on the next handout!
That a great idea, thanks

I love the Polaroid idea and I’m definitely going to use it in the future! My players will think I just want a fond memory….then the fun starts
@@theblackgauntlettavern8133 Nice; glad I shared the idea. 📸😁
I love the ? At the end of just kidding lol
Shhhhh don’t tell my players

You could use some red ink splotches as blood splatter... :)
NOW THATS THINKING
Blood dries brown.
Yes, I'm a lot of fun at parties.
@@AlbertaGeek while this is true, who’s to say the blood is dry yet…?
@@theblackgauntlettavern8133 Context _is_ important.
3 pages? Man that is childs play! 🤣
Ummm, they make parchment colored printer paper, saves you a whole lot of time you can spend on weathering the page
But buying things is so much less fun than making it exactly how you want!
