Ham Clock version 3.10 was introduced today. Version 3.09 had caused my Veritium HF Clock to randomly restart. I shot some video footage and sent it to Gino Morello at Veritium. Gino had me experiment to see how it would act if I had Space WX disabled. That seemed to be a common denominator. Gino and Elwood Downey worked yesterday and last night to solve the issue. There was another issue related to the DX Cluster that also gets corrected with release 3.10.
Note: Ham Clock version 3.03 included significant changes related to the DX clusters. Prior to 3.03, every single spot from the cluster to the clock resulted in the clock sending a show/heading command which a very vocal minority of dxcluster sysops objected to. From 3.03 onwards, the heading calculations are done locally to take the stress off of the remote cluster. For versions after 3.03, the clock puts no more load on the dxcluster network than any other user does, which is a good thing. However, the local CPU load is now very high for the stand-alone, ESP version, of the HF Clock. Users of the ESP version of the HF Clock will notice a loss of the ability to tap a callsign in the DX cluster and see the short path plot, beam heading, DX WX, and VOACAP data for the station you clicked on. The processor in the ESP HF Clock is just not powerful enough to keep up with the new programming that was required to minimize the load on the DX cluster servers.
If you are interested in purchasing the stand-alone (wooden) HF Clock, here is a link: www.veritiumhfclock.com
Veritium has a faster unit available if you can supply a monitor and mouse. It is available at this link: www.veritiumhfclock.com/ecomm...
If you only want the Ham Clock software, there is a free download available. Here is a link that shows how to install it on a PC: w4cae.com/wait-a-hamming-minu...
The Inovato Quadra is another option, if you can supply a monitor and mouse. It comes with the software installed. It is available from: www.inovato.com
Below is a list of some DX cluster hosts I have found to be reliable and stable:
Note: If you leave the Login field blank, it will use the callsign you entered in the setup menu. If you have more than one instance of Ham Clock running, use your callsign-1, callsign-2, callsign-3, etc., so the clusters don’t block you for logging in too many times with the same callsign.

I’m trying. I told the Patreon team about it this morning. It took a while to get the video shot and edited. But I gave the Patreon members a heads-up about the update and what it would do for them.

Since catching your video on the Innovato Quadra, I ordered one and so far am very pleased with it running on a dedicated monitor. I still need to learn to effectively analyze the data and determine my best use of displayed data. I'll wanna re-watch your ham clock vids.
Thanx for your continued interest in HF radio!

I found the Quatro too slow for my tastes and moved all my ham apps over to the pi5. I installed a 512 gig ssd drive to it and set it to boot for there and turned on the version 3 pcie so the little box is pretty quick. My Hamclock comes up fast and updates quick to. I revamped the Quatro as a small game pc for my 4 year old grandson and the small touch display I bought for it is perfect for him to play pacman. I found myself with some extra time now so I am going thru all my stuff to see what projects I can finally start and finish. Ah, the fun of getting old....

I’m okay with the Quadra, for my purposes. I mainly just set it to show DE WX, cycle through the solar conditions, display the Space WX, and cycle between SDO and moon. The version I have running on my PC is definitely the fastest. I use it for clicking callsigns in the DX Cluster and the SOTA spot list, so I can check VOACAP.

Any chance you can go over setting up the DX cluster?

That’s already covered in one of the earlier videos in the playlist.
