I'm very late, but I'm a Bath graduate and stayed in Norwood in my first year. This was 2017, so things could have changed but it was accommodation on floors 5 to 9 with the SU below that. Floors 5 and 6 got free entry to the club below as compensation for the noise; I was on floor 6. The noise from the club was audible but not too loud. With my headset on I couldn't hear it while playing music/games/youtube videos. I didn't have trouble sleeping through it either. However, it's loud enough that I imagine light sleepers have/had trouble with it. Floor 5 would be louder obviously, but I can't attest to how much so. I hope this helps anyone wondering :)
I’m not even going to uni this year but i cant wait for it next year!
I have 2 years until uni but I love watching these cause I need to get into bath
From someone who just finished first year at Bath, the entire of my block last year did science degrees e.g biosciences, maths or Eng. Also, weekend warmup at the SU is the one to go for when it comes to good drinks on campus!
Ahh good i was right then haha! Also I’ve never heard someone call it weekend warmup before that’s so funny, very true very true x
Noo Stenning ive taken on that SU branding a bit too much 😂
Could you do an updated video on how you took lecture notes? It clearly worked for you and I can’t find any on biochemistry and I have NO idea how to effectively take notes ❤️
Yes! It’s on my list for early autumn/near the start of uni x
Noo Stenning perfect thank you!
This video was really helpful thank u!! I’ve just firmed my Bath offer and I’m so excited🤩
Going to bath as an Erasmus student this year but this was really useful thanks 🤗🤗🥰
I’m so glad! Hope you enjoy!
Hi, Nice to see someone talking about Freshers 2020.
I am planning to join the university before the 2nd semester in Jan-Feb 2021.
Do you know anything about the Green Park House accomodation in the city becasue it is the only accomodation available because of the covid situtation.
Do accomodations for woodland court or Quads or Polden open in January and what are the chances for getting accomodation in these in Jan for 2nd semester
Is the Food and Drink credit available to Incampus accomodation students ONLY?
How much time does it take for th Bus from City center to come to the university.?
Is walking from the bustop to the Management Building or Library difficult in winters as it must be snowing? how much time does it take to reach the library from the bustop?
Is it possible to ride a bicycle in the University to go to various places like library etc ? Is it possible to park the Bicycle somewhere near the bustop? is bicycle parking ar various places in the University? Do bicycles get stolen in the university ?
in the evenng what time does all the eating places close?
I know these are lots of questions ? I'll appreciate if you answer them. Thanks
Heya, ok so I’ll try my best with these haha! Green park is in a really good location in town and seems really nice to be honest! Unfortunately the others won’t be available because you have them the whole year so no one will be moving out I highly doubt - there may be a waiting list though.
Food and Drink credit is for select accommodations on campus you can’t top it up (yet) unless you’re at one of those and is used at outlets on campus.
It takes anywhere between 10 minutes and 30 minutes totally depending on weather, traffic and where in town you’re coming from! It takes about 2 minutes it’s totally fine from the bus stop :) unfortunately you can’t really cycle around campus because it’s so small and pedestrianised but you don’t need it haha- there is bike storage however! Though cycling to campus is tough because it’s so hilly and you wouldn’t really take a bus up unless you were cycling up, I don’t think they really get stolen! And a couple (not all) are open until about 8ish, think Parade may be open until 11/22 and the supermarket until later on weekdays! Hope that helped x
when do you sign up for societies? also do you know who your flat mates are prior to actually moving in?
During freshers week there’s the chance to learn more about them etc and then you sign up on the SU website! Yes I did- there was a Facebook group made for accommodation and then people posted their flats and made group chats once they knew where they were x
Noo Stenning okay thank you sm, you just made things 100 time’s clearer! x
You’re welcome! Happy to try and answer anything else x
Im going to uni in Belgium in a month and I'm gonna study medical laboratory technology and after that I wanna go do bio Chem
Hey noo I love your vidz, I have a request..erm can you make a video about the entrance exam or what you had to do to get into bath and where you have to give an exam if your an international student or any student basically and the most asked questions?
I know this is a massive request but I would love if you'd make a video on this
Hey thanks! So entry is based on qualifications not on an exam eg A Level, BTEC etc and it’s all on the website if you look at the specific course - all the info you need is there x
@@NooStenningVideos thank you love 🥰
I have been planning for masters there
1. How much is the living cost in bath ?
2. How much is the tution fees for master program(automotive engineering) in bath university ?
3. How difficult is it to get a part time job ?
4. How is the job opportunity like after masters ?
5. Would you recommend university of bath or any other German university, ?
Living cost varies a lot depending on how much you go out- somewhere between £50-90 a week is probably average but it’s very hard to say
All the tuition costs are on the website :)
It shouldn’t be too difficult, most people who I’ve known who want one have found one especially as there are lots of cafes and shops etc!
I’m afraid I don’t know about automotive engineering but a masters will always look good on a CV from a good university
I would yes, though it’s in England not Germany haha so I don’t know about those
The Patch has closed now.
Oh really? I’m surprised because it was the only solely veggie/vegan place...maybe they’re planning to reopen it
Noo Stenning I work on campus and I’m pretty sure it’s closed for good (it’s been completely gutted). But I’m sure something else similar will pop up somewhere else on campus 🙂
Ah thank you for sharing! Hope so x
Greeting guapa
is woodland court considered social? that’s my accom this year so im just nervous about it not being social at all xx
It’s too hard to say just based on the accommodation- it totally depends on the people haha! But I’m sure it will be because the kitchen is shared between a fair few rooms :)
How’d you know your accom already? I got no clue🤕
Tobi1 idk i think they just sent me an email telling me to check my accom application or something. log in now to see if they’ve updated it
hey, what is the bus app call and which tickets do u normally buy? thanks!
First bus! I had a year pass
I’ve got accommodation in the city centre (John wood building) for my first year, would you recommend a bus pass or singles?
I reckon a bus pass if you’re going back and forth every day! You can probably do a rough calculation based on buying singles and their prices and the cost of the bus pass (just in case it’s cheaper/more expensive this year) and work it out x
am I the only one who’s been since since princessemeraldnoo??
Omg you’re an OG!! Thanks for sticking around 😂❤️
There's also the new Polden which does all sorts of café type things in terms of food and drink
Ooh yes forgot about Polden! They do bubble tea for anyone who likes that 😂
Bath is my first choice but I applied in November and they haven’t given me a decision yet! I’m so scared!!
Best of luck! I know they took a while my year too x
They replied to me in March
hi there thanks for such great videos, im thinking of coming to bath next year, would you say that in general people are really friendly and welcoming to international students - as i'm coming from overseas!
In my experience yes! It’s a great place I really enjoyed it
Does anyone know if you get access to Microsoft Office with Bath uni email accounts or do you have to buy it yourself? :)
I think you do! We definitely get access to teams so I’m assuming you get office too...sorry I couldn’t answer for definite x
