Yes. I often would be waiting for the train completely alone. It was so eerie. I would be so relieved when the train arrived.
FG could be a station that I wouldn't mind that at, it's so chill.
Excellent video!!! From a Metro contractor, hats off! I applaud your attention to detail describing the station area amenities, including those beyond the fare gates! This area often gets overlooked. Please keep making these videos, I am subscribed!
Thanks so much Bryce, means a lot! Thanks for helping run the system.
What you didn't mention here is that there are a pair of pedestrian bridges within walking distance from the station. They lead to some businesses and more neighbourhoods in that area.
yeah, i wish i explored more of the area.
Forest Glen and Wheaton are both very interesting stations to say the least especially when it comes to their design and architecture as you pointed out in your video.
Yeah, those two are definitely more unique than most on the Red line.
Very good video!!!
Thank you very much don!
Just plugged your channel on my podcast told them to check out your channel
thanks for the shoutout! what’s the podcast called?
@@sammymarrco47 - Doctor Politics and the Political Architects show, however the show should be called bar talk because many a times we talk about more than just politics - www.youtube.com/@dr.politicsthepoliticalarc5280 that's my channel
@@sammymarrco47 also its at the very end of show when we do Final thougts
After the Q1,2, and 4 Metrobuses that go from Shady Grove and Rockville to Silver Spring Metro Station stop at Wheaton Metro Station, do the Q1,2, and 4 Metrobuses that go from Shady Grove and Rockville to Silver Spring Metro Station go on Georgia Avenue past Forest Glen Metro Station?
As of Dec 2023 the Q2 Q4 Y7 Y8 and Y2 all run on George Av next to the FG station, I forgot to mention that in the video.
@@sammymarrco47 It's Georgia Avenue.
the worst part about using Forest Glenn is that during rush hours seems like 4 out of 5 trains end at Silver Spring
they don't do that anymore!
@@sammymarrco47 its been a really long time since i took the train on that end, these days if take metro i drive to Friendship Heights or Walk to Medical Center
the silver spring turns ended a few years ago but yah i've heard rumblings about them potentially returning in the not so distant future. Honestly, those particular ones I don't mind much because very few people use this station along with Wheaton and Glenmont compared to the rest of the Red Line from Silver Spring to Shady Grove. All the other turnbacks that have been done in the past yah I absolutely despise since they affect so many and cut off some of the most significant areas
Greetings from Caleb classy whale’s stream
thanks for checking the channel out, I hope he does those again soon.
no I got bored
The deepest station in the system. Don't understand why they just couldn't build spiral escalators if space was an issue
probably would have been very expensive.
So I live here and apparently they are looking at development in the parking lot but if they do that they have to build a parking garage🤦♂️
better then just a parking lot
@@sammymarrco47 yes but a parking garage is such a waste would love to see a store instead
Both is possible, just look at Wheaton station
@@sammymarrco47 Wheaton was shopping long before Metro came along.
Actually in 1991 the elevators broked down had to take stares down to tracks
sounds exhausting
@@sammymarrco47 going down wasn't bad ... in evening it was fixed that was many moons ago when i was a freshman at GW.
