- Bringing you a special preparation of ambade (hog plum) on the occasion of Diwali. A sweet & sour, spiced delicacy popular not only during the festive period but otherwise too. A definite favourite among the local Goans. Do try it out and give us your feedback in the comments.
Ingredients
Hog plums - 6 to 8 nos
Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 tbsp
Asafoetida (Hing) - a pinch
Sugarcane jaggery - 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Oil to fry
- Grind to a paste
Freshly grated coconut - 1 cup
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp

Yes one of my favourite too. You can use the small mangoes as an alternative. Locally known as ghonta here.
