Mazda mx-5 is literally the cure to fix the Monaco f1 weekend problem. Adding a quick for fun race after qualifying on Saturday with the best drivers in the world wheeling these things around would electrify the weekend in a very cost affected way. but f1 is way to lame for that.
This looks like the Daytona 500, what the heck? Great beginning. I will take one of the best wrecks without a motor and put in a KIA motor to run around town.
Delong in the #42 overreacted to the initial crash by braking too much. The rest of the field careered into the back the back of him, or took avoiding action. Not saying that there wouldn't have been carnage, but the #42 exacerbated it.
@ I get it. Tbf running in the front at most super speedway races has that effect, same reason Blaney has a billion DNFs and Hemric is one of the cleanest drivers in the field.

They need a cleanup truck!!! 12:25, there it is! 21:11, ouch - road rash on the bottom of the hopper. 22:50, that is a LOT of sweep for those lines of oil. For Miatas I only use 25% of that. Then they try and blow it off the track. What a mess. That oil absorbent has diatomaceous earth in is as an absorbent. Basically, little glass sponges. Not great for engines with no air filters. NAPA fine oil absorbent. Looks like they minimized the leftovers on the track. Well done clean up!
Is there not a procedure to stop the clock and stop the race? There was literally 15 minutes of racing. I would be pissed if I bought tickets and drove to the track. What a sham...
When on a banked track with a wall, cars that hit the wall will come across in front of the trailing cars and we get the Daytona "big one". Way too much pushing at the start.
Why would you not red flag it and clean everything up? Only giving the drivers 17 minutes of racing is not going to develop them nor is it a sufficient challenge.
Isnt this what red flags are for? Half the race wasted. Organisers are so worried about 'minimum race distance' and keeping to time schedules that we would rather let cars run through debris on a high speed circuit.

Remember this isnt the main show. It has a very restricted weekend schedule to make sure the Weathertech series makes it's scheduled start time.
