The game always does bad around September... it has dipped there every year since release
and the main reason for it "reviving" is:
we did some testing to see which icons performed best, and applied the most "optimal" icon on the 6th of Jan. It did well, and a week later, the algorithm was like "oh wow sb has an optimal icon" and doubled our players. Weird I know, but that's how roblox works lol, people always overanalyze super specific parts of the game, and attribute CCU turbulence to this or that glove being OP, boring, etc, when in reality it's often just things like people going back to school, algorithm being weird or things like that. Also, the game just does better when the "bad months" are over. amazing video though

The game brought me so many fun moments with some friends i met there, we were literally doing anything you could think off with any glove, i'm glad i spent the amount of time i spent to get all the gloves in the game, going in-game and flexing the most hardest gloves to get. Me and my fellas knew a ton of bugs no one knows till this day, the game is very unique and i hope it never will never die. Thanks Tencell

I hear a lot of people say that slap battles has fallen off, but I think slap battles either can’t get “better” since its peak may have already passed, or everyone just hates how it has so many exploiters and that ten “needs to make a better anticheat” despite how making an anticheat for things like slap aura can lead to more false kicking and more unhappiness with the community.

a big thing for me was that all of the badge obtainment methods involve other people. i don't have friends who are good at sb, and randoms are rarely kind or smart enough to help you.

As of someone is banned for no reason on my main i can say, Slap Battles is still going strong
Man, I feel like Slap Battles already had its golden era. I mean, sure, they can still get tens of thousands of players actively playing, but it's just not like the old times. I used to be part of the ogs. Back in early-late 2022, whenever a new glove came out, me and my friends would try so hard to get them. I remember us spending hours over hours trying to get Rob, only for one of us to get it. I miss those old times, and I usually have a lump in my throat when talking about this. I know this is kinda irrelevant to the video, but I just want to tell you that Slap Battles isn't dead, but its peak has passed, even though they revived it. It just won't be the same.
Thats what me and my friends do. Mabye its just because you dont enjoy the game like you did before because it got repetitive to you. Newer people enjoy it
I have a really fun group of friends that's been going on for years now, we all started playing slap battles recently and it's honestly been one of the funniest experiences atleast for me in the whole group's history grinding for rob * and the boss fight * was the peak for me

I feel like there are so many games on roblox that just try to squeeze money out of you every chance they can get, so having a game actually prioritize fun for once is such a breath of fresh air.
One update that i've always loved are halloween update 2021 and 2022 ones, they were were so creative and awesome for me but 2023 came in and they just reused the same obtainment for larry on necromancer... It was so disappointing especially considering they were hyping it up so much.
Also, slap battles had its golden era and i've realized the quality of the updates have gotten somehow worse with more devs. Back when tencell was a solo dev, the game just felt really unique and different from the other ones but now it's filled with anime and reused glove concepts, it has sure lost its identity over the past year and well i can't deny it was expected.

fun fact, there was a "bug" with null on release, when you killed the null goobers you got slaps for it, and there were exploiters who spammed null with no cd, and they was able to geind slaps with it, thank god tencell fixed/remove this feature

how to save your game:
1: make a main character (before it dies out)
2: wait for your game to die (when it dies out)
3: make the main character have a overpowered form in the place of a bossfight (after it dies out)
Sadly now they make hard badges for mid gloves (cough cough frostbite cough cough) or easy badges for actual good gloves like gloves run and lamp (if you know how to use it)
Let’s not forget about the GUIDE BOSSFIGHT WHICH CAME OUT LIKE 6 MONTHS AGO AND ITS TOO FUN TO GIVE UP
The problem with slap battles is it makes players spend all their time with rng which is when the game feels rigged which makes a player quit

Lamp glove is actually a pretty neat glove, There's a lot of pros on it, and it doens't get boring to use!
You can make players with powerful gloves run away from you.
It can be active on timestops.
It's one of the best gloves for PVP, because it can literally blind others.
Even when it's broken, It even gets more knockback!
The obtaining method isn't too easy, but it's VERY worth it!

I’ve said it millions of times that SB peak was because it was summer which meant more people had time to to play, sucks that most people assume slap battles was falling off when most of their gloves aren’t that different from when they were in 2022 or 2021
i feel as if its because most balancing suggestions are pushed down and people who have low slaps and nearly no gloves just get bullied by sweaty shakers and op oneshots.
SB was my favorite game on roblox 1 year ago, until the slap royale update. I quit after this as I thought new gamemodes would make the game more complicated and have 10 - 20 gloves linked to it when I liked the obtainment meathods at the time. I returned to the game at summer of 2023, the recall update. THIS WAS A BANGER (Although it took me and hour to get recall and it was super buggy) I had so much fun getting recall and playing that update. Havent missed an update since and frankly dont plan on ever doing it again. I am with that game until its downfall. (Yes its my favorite roblox game again)
I recently just came back to slap battles after quitting for a year (on a new account) and getting back my old gloves (and gloves that are really cool) is just awesome

I remember getting banned for doing a glitch that everyone else was doing but my friend didn’t get banned for that which they are having favoritism. I have another friend who got banned for playing a game called ability wars where the slap battles mods check people accounts who play slap battles and ability wars. Mods that see you played ability wars by checking badges they ban you because they don’t want them to play a “rip off version” but later he got unbanned because tencell found out what was happening. Me and my friends quit slapping battles for a year but we agreed to play slap battles again since it was in the hunt.
This game has given me so many memories, man….

I used to play all the time but I feel like the gloves got so much harder to get and they started adding so many so fast to the point where it got a little overwhelming and I couldn’t find the same enjoyment as before because the gloves seemed pretty fun but for some of them you needed to get a good amount of people with rare gloves making it a lot harder which I understand that’s the point but it becomes a lot harder when you need to be the one using a harder to obtain glove

recently i’ve started playing slap battles again, last time i played was when tycoon was the newest glove and now it’s so fun, me and my friends play it and the eternal bob boss fight is SO fun.
0:40 The funny thing is is that the bossfight is a completely different server, so it would problably have around 130K players actually online at the same time if you included the bossfight.
i don't think so. the bob and guide bosses, frostbite area, slap royale etc are sub-places, with normal servers being the main place. from what i know, the ccu shown to everyone is all of the players in all of the game's places, while the devs can see how many players each place has.
Man, what a same I had t quit Roblox after chrismas :/. I love that Slap Battles is doing well, but it hurts to not be able to play it knowing that.
I was one of the people who dipped at that time, and I think it mostly was because of little kids using insanely op gloves to their advantage. Psycho was released and when it was, oh BOY did it need a nerf. If I could describe it in just a few words, I would say “a one shot with an extra ability” It’s insane how good its ability is with the “if I hit you, there’s a 90% chance your going to die” and you may just say “oh just don’t get hit it’s like a one shot.” no no no there’s a ability which is giving you a speed boost and floating above air. Psycho completely ruined the balance of the game and October was when I finally started deciding I was done with it.
Killstreak is imo the best glove in the game. Amazingly creative, community made, and overall super fun to use. Many gloves completely ruined it though, since you can’t get a streak without dying by an overkill 1 second later. Killstreak only and guardian angel felt like bandage fixes. Yeah, I can play with killstreak without having to worry about dying to one shots, But why not just BUFF killstreak?
That’s all I have to say.

Because i was getting badges and used to not like slap battles but i went to the portal by accident and i just had fun without doing the hunt. I have gone so far into the game. That i am bored but i will not quit it until i get all the gloves

same, i was doing the bob bossfight and we got stuck in a loop so we gave up.
I actually fought the actual developer with my friend who had a good relationship with the creator, and then he randomly joined and caused chaos.
One of the most fun i had in sb in a while was got in a duel with retro and pan with a guy in a public Server

look, i really loved the admin glove but when i saw its requirements i got hyped to not hyped quickly. 1 hour again???? i just cant. and the fact it gives such an op glove made me down so bad. and not to mention the hard obby too. if any cool free ugc was posted during that update i would just give up. and the only ugc i have currently, snowpeep. i dont understand why are these ugcs so HARD! if snowpeep did have a ton of time left to get i would get it but if not i would have NONE if the ugcs. i just cant.
edit: and i also havent played sb during a while because i did not have the effort to get the rest of the badges like admin, megarock or detonator. i really think they need some nerfs like trap. 10 hours for an glove that becomes an huge rock and when touched kills people is cool but, theres already another for robux. which doesnt make sense megarock existing. if so then obby glove requirements would be only megarock glove and kill 10 ppl with it. like fr. i think its getting boring and not fun anymore.
