I am impressed it can handle that, I have the air 2 so its not an issue, but I am looking at this as a smaller gimbal, nice to know it can handle so much weight.

Thanks for the detailed video. I have a Canon 750D (weighing 555 gm) with a Tamron SP 24-70 lens (which weighs approximately 825 gm) and I am struggling to balance the tilt axis. As per your video I understand it can be balanced by using the counterweights. I am wondering what is the dia of the screws on the counterweights which you used. Or are they of standard size? I will appreciate if you can respond. Thanks
nope, then you don't need counterweights. there's several promo videos from Gudsen that shows the BMPCC4k without cage and works perfectly well with the iFocus-M attached.
yes, or if need to, bmpcc 4k without cage. I did a few walking around testing, and the footage does seem smooth with the cage on. but again, you can always adjust the settings for each motor to fit your needs, all the gimbals currently in the market uses the same parts and software :)
@@mdifilm yes. Almost all the current gimbals perform better than the operator. The payload capacity of this gimbal is more than enough but i think the size of the cradle is an issue. For smaller setups this seems to be the best gimbal.
Fantastic video, thank you. I have a 16mm Sigma F1.4 lens - do you think it would be too front heavy for the Gimbal? Still trying to decide which Gimbal to get.
you can try, may need to add counterweight, on the fb group someone actually successfully put a sigma 18-35 with booster on a bmpcc4k (without cage) and ssd mount/sony nfp mount and works.
There’s only one type of smallrig cage for the bmpcc 4K I believe. I still do not recommend using the camera with cage on the AirCross 2. It is very hard to balance.
Do I need a counterweight or any other additional equipment, if I only use a Panasonic 2.8 12-35 lens (no extras, no cage, no iFocus-M) extended to 35mm on BMPCC4K? Will one counterweight be enough - how many grams weights one counterweight? Compared to other gimbals, do you like the handling and filmic-results (wobbling)?
Nope. If your bmpcc 4K is bare (no cage etc) no counterweight is needed. See AirCross 2’s promo video. They have a bmpcc 4k in it without cage but with iFocus-m
I’ve seen two reviews so far where the footage is considerably wobbly/jittery on this gimbal. Have you experienced this as well? I receive mine tomorrow and am afraid that I’ll be sending it back.
On the AirCross 2 user group at Facebook just got a new firmware that actually improved the wobbly issue. So it’s no more. When you get your AirCross make sure to do an update.
Thanks for the video! Looking forward to the raffle!
Thank you for the video! Looking forward to use the aircross 2!
thank you!
FINALLY! a good video on how to use this camera on the AirCross2!
hope this helps :)
Just did a drawing via a software and you won the baseplate! :)
@@mdifilm YAY!!!!!!
Very good explanation of bmpcc4k compatibility with this gimbal. Thank you for your time. Subbed.
Thank you.

Does it balance with out weights if you do not have the cage, follow focus and SSD? Very helpful video before purchasing the AirCross 2
yes, if you only have the camera, it should work with the iFocus-M, gudsen's own promo video shows that :)
I just did the drawing and your name as well as Sonyboo came up! So, you got the rail baseplate. Please send me a message. :)

Hello from bmpcc fb group. Nice vid as many people needed
Thanks for watching.
0:08 , hilarious lol , i love you man
will this work with a longer lens like nikon 24-70mm ? or crane 2s is a better option ?

The counterweights are standard sizes. Gudsen have them at their website
Helpful video. If you're not using a cage and external ssd do you think you would still need the counterbalance weights?
nope, then you don't need counterweights. there's several promo videos from Gudsen that shows the BMPCC4k without cage and works perfectly well with the iFocus-M attached.
The setup of bigger cameras seem a bit tedious on this gimbal. I think it is best suited for mirrorless cameras with a small form factor.

Very complex, thanks for sharing!
I'm at the point of getting a Gimbal for my Pocket 4k, but not sure which to go for, this seems like the right one.
they are all tools, get one that provide you the most for your $ and feature. :)

Many thanks for having put together this video! Pardon us, how heavy should the SmallRig weights be, 100 or 200g each? Thanks again!

Hi, tks for the video. I have a question:
- can you use BMPCC 4k on the vertical position using moza aircross 2?
Yes. Balancing and calibration is important. Especially the pan axis which is the one below the camera.
