Reading Auto Action a couple of weeks ago there are plans afoot to improve this corner. The article referred mainly to the lack of runoff past the verge of the circuit so hopefully they will just push the fence back rather than re profile the turn.
Reminds me of some of the incidents I saw at Corum Curve at Snetterton before they moved the banking. Dan Eaves in the 2001BTCC night Race, the driver of a Fiesta ending up in the boot of the car and a Vauxhall Lotus taking out 50yards of tyre wall are just some that spring to mind.

I can honestly say 2017 with Hazlewood was one of the very few times I thought we may have seen the worst case scenario. The car just got tossed around. Just goes to show how safe these cars are though. You definitely would not have survived that in a production car.

In 2018 we actually managed to avoid anybody crashing into the turn 6 tire wall in the race. Granted Courtney hit it side-on in Race for the Grid 2, but that didn't chop half the race off.
just my point.....they need televised regularly and have talk shows and everything Nascar does......Nascar is failing.....An American Super Car series could take it's place pretty easy I would think....and be a weekly event.......even on some Ovals
would be great to see but looks like all we are going to get is the shortened replays on cbssn. As cool as the series is, its a hard sell since all the races are held between 1-5am eastern time. the superview subscription is great though! i paid about 50$ for the season and its definatley worth it.

Fax me backwards. I really would love to see the set up of these car in person because they must be manufactured to perfection. To see those guys walk away from those crashes is unbelievable.
I’m not sure what other races are like and i went to the Newcastle 500 and you can walk through the super2s set up (on GA) and i was awestruck by everything that was in them, the insane roll cages, the 30 odd mm thick brake pads and massive rotors, the suspension - it’s all insane

@@OoogaBoog The word of being the scariest crashes is subjective, I personally think MotoGP crashes are the scariest as they're being flung from their motorbikes. On the side of safety improvements I believe that GT and LM racing have done more to improvements of safety. Another example is the Hans Device, that was Invented after Patrick Jacquemart was killed in IMSA racing.
@@sooshii8083 IMSA racing wasn't the push for it, all of racing was. Hubbard was designing it before his brother in law (Patrick Jacquemart) was killed. That death gave him the push to complete his project and get a patent. Family ties did it, It wasn't IMSA. I'll give you that MotoGP is pretty deadly, but the fact that most NASCAR crashes usually involved 5-25 cars at a time makes it far more scary especially since they are averaging 190 mph on the bigger ovals, and being inches apart. But you're right, it is subjective. I just think I'm right :)
