In the original (1956) Rhoda (That’s the girl’s name) she gets struck by lightning and dies in the end. I guess we can say that was her price to pay for killing all those people

the true ending is with the villain surviving

The only reason why they had to kill her with the lightning is because at the time it was a law that in movies criminals are not allowed to walk away free for their crimes. (In the book her mom tried to drug her, the girl survived) If they didn't do that change the movie couldn't come out.
In the book the name of the girl is Rhonda and her mom is adopted. But her biological grandmother is in the book a famous serial killer who received the death penalty for her crimes. (the chair)

McKenna Grace is an excellent actress. She’s come a long way since playing Wyatt’s little sister Jasmine in Crash and Bernstein.
New idea for a third movie; The Bad Seed Gets Uprooted
The movie starts with Emma continuing her murderous rampage into adulthood but she’s finally brought to justice midway through the film and is given the death penalty. Then, the final stretch could be a time skip showing Emma’s years on death row with her being escorted to the execution chamber at the very end but still with a smile on her face as she reminisces over all the lives she took.
So sad there isn't part 3

No, she was teasing him. At the end of the movie (when the house is burning down) she goes to his car seat and says “hello friend” before making a play growl and Cade laughs again. I think it was more like she realized since Cade was so young he would be easy to make like her

When the movie begins, it's clear that Emma doesn't like Robert and confess to her aunt that she preferred when it was just two of them. When her aunt's at work, Robert is having an online meeting, and the baby is sitting in another room. She opens his "tent" and makes a road leading to the pool by putting some snacks on the floor, just to frame her uncle that he didn't pay enough attention to his son. She had overheard Angela telling her husband to make a fence around the pool, so when she caught the baby at the last moment, they argued about that, and she's mad at him.
Later, when Robert is at the hospital, Emma feeds the baby, and Gabe (that's the actual name, not Kate) starts laughing at her gestures, Emma says that he's silly and decides they're friends now.
When later Kat confronts her in her room, Emma says that the baby is fine.
I think she just saw the opportunity to make her look even more innocent and loving.
That was a very decent part II to this film! The actress is great in the role.
