Thank you for my 30 minute holiday. I am relaxed. Visited Salzburg in 2005, and always longing to go back. We stayed at Haus Arenberg, which had an amazing view of the alps. It was a 13 room hotel, which we had entirely to our selves, as we went before the tourist season.

Great video Dennis! I moved here from Cork, Ireland over a year ago. This video really helped me to settle in and see some nice places for a beer and a sausage. Just last week, I've moved to Bruges, Belgium.

Hi there Dennis, like you I love Salzburg and want to visit again soon. Can you tell me what month you filmed this in please, as I’m deciding between going in late September versus mid November. Cold weather doesn’t worry me but want to avoid black ice of course! Any advice? Cheers, Marg
Never mentioned in any of these Salzburg videos is a great side trip to the Red Bull Air Museum at "Hangar 7" at the airport. Free admission. Great restaurant. Jam packed full of cool go fast toys in a one of a kind facility.
I read on a travel book that during weekends, most business establishments are closed. What about the national parks? Is this true? If so, what do you suggest for activities during weekends? Replies are very much appreciated.
Shops are open on Saturdays but yes, closed on Sundays. You could visit the castle, Fortress Hohensalzburg, open 365 every year, and then do an easy hike from the castle to Mönchsberg, have a drink on the scenic terrace, and then cross the river to stroll the grounds of Mirabell Gardens. Another option is the bus and boat tour to the lake district, visiting Lake Wolfgang. Many things to keep you busy in beautiful Salzburg..

How busy during mid May? Good vid. Will be in Munich in May. I just may head over to Salzburg.
May is a perfect time to be in Salzburg, less busy than summer. and good weather too.
