7 years ago, I was a very anxious person. School was tearing me apart, and I lived alone and far away from home. I worked a difficult part time job and was barely scraping by. The stress would always get to me where I’d get sleep paralysis almost every night. This song, this video helped a lot. It would calm me down, help me fall asleep. It helped me during my studies, and it helped me stay positive. This year, I finished my Masters in Law, and my girlfriend and I got approved on our home For some reason, I thought of this song, and this video. Although I’d still listen to it from time to time, today, it feels different. It feels like I’m finally where I wanted to be, after all the struggles. And I think this song helped a lot.

@@MsipaulM The first time I saw a clip of the Monogatari series was during the Shinobu time travel arc where we see Araragi and Shinobu in an entirely different world because of him saving Hachikuji. So I sat through the first and second season to finally get to that part, but I still kept watching, cause I thought I would get to see more cool stuff like that, unfortunately, the later seasons are not as action packed, but they offer a different kind of action, real life, the mundane things that people go through in life (slice of life). I know what you mean. The greatness of season 1 won't be overtaken easily. Season 2 and 3 was still very enjoyable but it wasn't up to par. I think the kizumonogatari will meet our expectations though.
There's something so innocent and beautiful about the music of this series. It's one of the few things that I can ever call timeless about anything, really. It's taken me the 5+ years since I watched this series to properly register what makes this music work, what makes it tick. It's accompanied me throughout my entire high school experience, and going into college I've found myself coming back to the question over and over again. There's something distinct here, even then, that I can never seem to grasp. A mix of innocence yet intensely emotional progression always seems to hang over this entire series, even in it's darkest moments. Something that always seems to say, "by the time this ends, we'll be friends again..." Regardless of the time I've spent, it always seems to evade me. Just as the person I care about always seems to evade my advances. ... I always find myself coming back to Kimino Shiranai Monogatari. I'm always afraid I'll become that person. Yet, there's that energy that tells me that those memories will still last, and I will find anew. A cycle of life and love. This series manages to constantly remind me that these things are innocent, not terrible. That you don't have to be an adult to feel danger or hardship, and that now that I am an adult, I still have opportunities to live and explore the world. If I had an opportunity to ask one person a single question, right now, and for the past few years, I would ask Satoru Kōsaki where in his heart the music of this series comes from.
Update: I didn't become that person. At least, I don't think so. We're still friends, but she's not interested. I'm alright with it. I'm just glad that I got it out. I can move on.

IMO, I prefer seasons 2 (Nise) and 3 (S2) more. Season 1 had a certain formula to each arc (with the exception of the last 5 episodes which I loved the most) that is Araragi encounters a female with a problem, talks about it, and gets helps from Oshino Meme. Sure I loved Meme as an interesting character, and how Meme went about to solve the issue, but this created a certain level of predictability... I also disliked the "real" pictures that were abruptly flashing through conversations (which was later replaced by different anime styles). Of course Season 1 was amazing, introducing interesting characters with unique problems which are sometimes personal. With each arc focusing on a main heroine, we gain a connection to each character which became a foundation for later seasons. Seasons 2 and 3 kept me guessing and anticipating how events would unfold, how the characters would solve them (without Meme's help). Sure the fan service was excessive, but even fan service was done in unique ways (tooth brush anyone?). With Season 1 already having thoroughly introduced each character, Season 2 could play around every character's interaction with each other which was a real pleasure to watch. Season 3 in particular was spectacular. The Kako arc was a unique way to tell a story from Hanekawa's point of view, and even the utter rubbish conversations about Hanekawa's taste in food turned out relevant in how she accepts everything- thus making her pure white... Time travel arc which played around with the ending of Season 1 was also cleverly done. My only problem with Season 3 is the wasted recap episodes.
