I would love to see more training videos like this. Breaking down why you are training what you are training, and your methods, techniques, etc. Plus it's entertaining per usual. Great stuff Hunter.
@@hunter-constantine noice, I've been watching you, Isaac Lockwood, and Brantley Merriam a lot recently. Becoming obsessed with USPSA after only shooting 1 match lol
Thank you, thank you thank you! As a competitive shooter that is struggling to reach anywhere near my potential your drills and the reasons for them are really helpful. I would love to see you do a video on Drills for an indoor range. But I really appreciate your insight and I’m sure everyone else fortunate enough to find this video does as well.
This is awesome. I’m just starting(less than a dozen matches) but this looks almost exactly like I practice. And I shot my first A class classifier last match with a bone stock G17.5 MOS.
For the future, I would like to see fixed camera angles and more of Hunter’s eyes and body mechanics. I want to see how he is processing visual information and how and when he makes decisions to move a certain way or engage a target with a certain strategy.
The fact that he can see the hits on target from 10 yard says it all LOL my old ass cant see them at 5 not taking anything away super smooth shooting my man.
I'm not okay with No shoots either, but that didn't' stop me from getting 4 this last weekend. If everyone was more inclusive, i wouldn't place so low all the time.
When you warmup on doubles, are you focusing on shooting more towards double taps (single sight picture and two shots) or controlled pairs (sight aligned, shoot, sight aligned, shoot)?
i love seeing professional shooters shoot to see what they do that i dont. what i noticed here is how even a professional shooter "anticipates" recoil. you can tell by the slight dip in the barrel when he shoots and there is no round in the chamber. i mention it bc everyone that has tried to "correct me states that recoil anticipation is bad
My apologies if you’ve covered this elsewhere-and I know that you briefly hit on this in this video-but what extended mags/base plates do you recommend for the M&P, and how does this setup differ from the other one that you use to compete with? Thanks a bunch
😂 good stuff, man. I'm glad you can take a joke. I have an idea for a GunTuber challenge. Kind of like those wife swap TV shows. Tactical shooters vs Competition shooters. You guys have to trade outfits. Fancy polos swap with chest rigs, helmets, gloves, night vision, lights, lasers, sharpie, compass, 5.11 boots, etc.
I had to sub after the last video I watched of yours which was the first I've seen. I want to get better at shooting but I don't want to be in competitions or anything like that. Can you give me a random guess of how many rounds you've fired to be able to shoot like this? 100,000? 500,000? 100 billion? lol
@@ripdoinksinamish true. I'm just curious how many rounds he's fired throughout his life. One day I went through 200 9mm rounds. That's the most I've ever fired in 1 day. Hell that's more than I usual go through per year. I'm maybe a .0001% better shooter now haha.
I'm about a year in, currently M Class in Limited Optics. Just get out and shoot a match, it's the best way to start. Dedicate a portion of your money to training if you want to get super serious about it and dry fire at least 15 minutes a day, five days a week. Make sure to take breaks as you need them, too. Always pay attention to what guys like Hunter, Mason Lane, Brantley Merriam, etc are doing. If you just wanna shoot for fun, then just go to some locals and have fun!
