    I hate to be a downer, but this is actually written about a woman's battle with cancer. Actually, it's not really a downer. I think knowing that fact adds a massive mountain of meaning. It takes a cute little song and turns it into a tear jerker. Amazing what a little context can do. Also, speaking of tear jerker, the most enduring song off this album is "Do You Realize." outstanding tune and a litmus test to determine whether or not you have a soul.

    You have to see them play this live. They're great fun. Their song 'Do you realise?' is a personal favourite

      They are very fun live but also very beautiful, I cried at both of the concerts I attended. I relate so much to there lyrics and sound and Steven is my idol as I am also an addict in recovery.

    I remember when the Flaming Lips were a rockin' indie band in the 1980s out of Oklahoma City. A trio during that time. Their first three records were absolutely fantastic, if unusual. Nobody knew who they were and all of my friends would be like, "what's that shit?". I was a teenager at that time. Just nobody seemed to get them at all. My favorite is "Telepathic Surgery". Very unusual band.

    This song is about fighting cancer but written in a happy/optimistic way. They're hands down, out of the hundreds of live shows I've been to, the most fun. I probably should've chosen Do You Realize for your intro to this band instead. That songs is a little more straight forward.

    Great underrated band! U gotta check out, the yeah yeah yeah song and the w.a.n.d. Great songs. So different but so good. First one was a festival classic and the words ring true now. The 2nd is just a great riff.

    I’m dying at this one. I respect the effort, but I think BJ’s right, it’s about robots trying to eat him 😂
    These guys actually make some really quality music, it’s not all silly. If you decide to try another one, go with Do You Realize? It’s a beautiful song.

    This album's vibe and this song especially is definitely like an anime. It's suppose to be. Futuristic, robotic, karate hero, just entertaining

    • @scapito
      @scapito 2 роки тому +1

      I wouldn't say it's intended anime, but it definitely gives off the vibe it could be. Other songs on the album don't use all the same quirky sounds. This song in particular is about a woman fighting cancer.

    It’s often explained by Wayne as an anthem exclaiming that you can overcome whatever trials and obstacles you face with the power of perseverance, family, friends and love. You can do whatever you set your mind energy too despite what others thing or how hard it seems. ✌️ and ❤

    Probably is about robots eating people. They are an excellent band, but incredibly pretentious-especially the singer. In 1997 they put an album out that was four CD's all of the same song, but with different parts, that needed to be played simultaneously on four different stereos.

    • @danrudnick5252
      @danrudnick5252 2 роки тому +3

      You say pretentious, I say artsy. The 4 disc on 4 different stereos album is an incredibly cool idea.
