    Thank you for such a powerful speech brother. Last year when the queen passed away a member of the public walking past our local Gurdwara shouted out, "Why isn't your flag at half mast?? The Queen has died!!". Now I understand how I could have explained that.
    This isn't an ordinary flag like that of a country or religion that serves to protect and serve only their own interests.
    This is the Nishan Sahib of our Guru, the Beacon of Truth that promises to Protect and Serve all of humanity regardless of the colour of your skin or the religion you attach yourself to.
    It stands for Deg Tegh Fateh - Food and Protection for All, a promise to protect anyone that is hungry or being persecuted.
    This is the blessing bestowed upon us Sikhs direct from the Divine. And that is why this flag will only always continue to soar at the Highest of Heights.

      You are serving the sikhi earnestly: more speeches could have elaborated the gist of Baisakhi & the birth of Khalsa for the benefit of your non Sikh spectators. However your
      Efforts are laudable.❤ keep up good work. 16:53 16:53

      @@daljeet4586 Your comment is correct - it was good explanation to a Sikh. The explainatation from my perspective being a sikh was great! I am more saying it could be learning point - we were in Trafalgar square it might be an opportunity to explain who Sikhs are and What Vasakhi is to “non-sikhs” because there would have been many tourists and others there which would have not known why we were there.

      Hey, apologies for not covering all of the bases - we try to judge the parchar based on the crowd and 15 min timeslot -it seemed mainly young Sikhs were present. Again apologies if we did not meet your mark. 🙏

      Your Parchar was Amazing Sukhnal, and anyone watching would have been blessed undoubtedly, regardless of having some information missed. In those 15 mins, choosing to explain Vaisakhi from the original concept of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Maharaj’s Shaheedi carefully demonstrates the initial purpose that Sikhs stand for justice, and will give there lives for righteousness. It was important for the non Sikhs in Trafalgar Square to know this story before beginning to know more about Vaisakhi. It was wise of you to choose not to just jump straight into the conclusion of Vaisakhi in such a limited time, and to rather introduce the very beginning of it instead. Afterwards, the opportunities to know more unfolded throughout the day. Again, as you say the parchar was performed in accordance to who the majority of the audience was. It was wiser to explain the points that you did to the Sikh Youth there as many of them can remember and meditate upon Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Maharaj just as much as Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj Ji this Vaisakhi - which is something that could have been forgotten, had you not explained this. Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj 🙏🏻

    Isn't vaisakhi on 13th april?

    • @bavansingh5245
      @bavansingh5245 5 місяців тому

      It does not have an exact date on the Christian Gregorian Calendar. The important thing is to celebrate and remember, not the exact translation of a date.

    • @user-uf6wc2zf6r
      @user-uf6wc2zf6r 5 місяців тому

      @@bavansingh5245 Oh it was on internet that it is celebrated on 13. If there is no exact date, who gets to decide on what date vaisakhi falls. I would agree that we should learn what it teaches, but I think date is important so that people don't celebrate it on random days and for history as well.

    • @bavansingh5245
      @bavansingh5245 5 місяців тому

      @@user-uf6wc2zf6r so from what I've seen. The Nanakshahi Calendar which most Sikh events are mapped to was put forth in the time of Banda Singh Bahadur. This has been adapted and changed over time, especially in times of big change like the Singh Sabha movement and the transition to the Gregorian Calendar. So then this led to different valid interpretations of the date.
