Bitter melon is a staple in our home Stacey, some variety is really bitter so we cut it thinly and wash it with salt (we put them on a bowl add salt and gently mix them a minute before we splash water and drain them) , if the bitterness is tolerable you can eat them raw, add some tomatoes and garnish it with lime or lemon, onions and salt to taste. We also like to saute it, with onion and garlic, we add eggs or tofu scramble and them add the bitter melon, we try not to overdo the sauteing of the bitter melon but to gently mix and not over cook it. Hope this give you an idea. ⚘⚘⚘

My step mom is Indian and she used to cook bitter melon a lot when I was growing up. It’s good when cooked in a savory style, we would eat a little as a side dish. It is very healthy for you! I’ve never made it myself but I should!

I used to work in a hair salon with all vietnamese ladies and they would cook the bitter mellon with tomatoes and scrambled eggs with probably some onions and spices and a little sugar. Then they would eat it with white rice and they usually put soy sauce and chilly on most things. It was soooo good. I am enjoying your vlogs. I have watched your channel a long time and love your family 😁😍😊

Those tomatoes from the garden are so beautiful! Do you know what kind they are? We also got those breakfast patties from Sharp Shopper a few days ago. We haven't got to try them yet though. We grow bitter melon in our garden and it's a traditional Asian vegetable. It can be very bitter, but our family has learned to like it! Especially since my mom was accustomed to eating it. (She grew up in the Philippines) We use to eat it with eggs, but since we have been plant-based, we mostly use them in stir-fries and sometimes soup. Can't wait for tomorrow's vlog!

Thank you! I’m not sure what the little tomatoes are. I’m looking forward to trying the bitter melon. It won’t be in the next Vlog yet, because I haven’t made it. Probably tomorrow or Monday I’ll try it.
