I love your pug. I had one. Died last September. Just 3and a half years old. Die to vet's carelessness. The pain of loss is still intense.

Go and get another dog, its a great healer, dont keep suffering, you will love your baby forever, but you can give love to another dog, as a loving devoted dog owner.
Same with mine. Diagnosed with kennel cough by three different vets when she had a collapsed esophagus. You need to find a vet that has experience with flat nose breeds and not just one that reads out of a book.

How old is your pug? Because our 7 month old pug goes crazy after a bath and especially while we dry him in a towel. Yours is so calm haha.

I put the water on cold, hold him down, scrub him and rinse him. Then i hold his head down on the top of the side of the tub and use a scrub brush hard on his face with some soap for his fat rolls. Then rinse again.
Then i dry him off with a towel and sit him in front of a fan or put him outside in the sun.
Its a dog, it doesnt need to be babied and swattled and massaged. Its a dog not a new born baby

I’m no expert, but I’m a puggy mama:) What I do for my Loki is use quips. Dampen them to clean in between the folds. Do it a few times (Lord, it can get black and yuk!) then I run a smidge of coconut oil in his folds with. Dry atop. Or I use a microfiber washcloth and dampen with warm water, wring out and rub folds gently:)

Alice Jade , lol. But, no, not sure if you were kidding, but those foldscan get infected if not cleaned and also can get smelly. Plus, my pug sticks his entire silly face in his water to drink, lol.... dirty folds equals dirty water bowl.
I have a pug and i use a wash cloth with just warm water and very gentle wash his face. Very careful not to use too much water just a damp wash rag will do.
my pug hates being bathed but LOVES to be blow dried afterwards.

Skin infection. Those chemicals need to be washed off. It's like us applying shampoo n not rinsing it off properly. Imagine the rash.
To bathe my pug you need two people, one to clean and one hold her down cuz she hates baths

Pritch 89 cause of there nose and eyes sense the eyes pop out so much they can get irritated and there nose is really sensitive idk exactly why the nose is so sensitive but to wash the nose you can apply coconut oil on the nose the face you do it with the thing girls use to take off make up you can mix it with something to clean there face and head and ears
