That card looks nice af. I can't wait to see what Intel can do in the future. As long as they stick with it I'm sure they'll be in the top tier eventually. For a first real go at it they did really good here.
The card itself does look quite gorgeous. What I don't like is how difficult the maintenance on these cards is. I've seen Gamers Nexus video of ARC770 and was shocked how much glue Intel has used. Not like people disassemble their cards on a regular basis, but when the time comes, we'd rather have an easier job to do and not so much risk of damaging something. I was really rooting for Intel, regardless of the GPU pricing situation, since competition will push AMD and nVidia to innovate and compete even harder. Just wouldnt recommend anyone buying first gen Intel GPUs because they've rushed it. I understand it's first gen, however; they've made some horrible design decisions which lead to poor performance on older systems. I mean people that are on newer gen systems will be able to afford more expensive GPUs, and wont go for Intel, especially since it is in its pioneering stage. Too bad it will reflect on their budget for the 2nd gen. I hope they'll take more time with second gen and make a more compelling option for everyone. P.S. And what's with the separate cable to power GPU's RGB? It's as if they've hired someone with no degree to implement their RGB sollution. I mean no offence, I'm an Engineer of Embedded Systems and what they've done is ridiculous to me. And I haven't even finished my Master's degree yet, which is why I'm leaving this comment in the first place.
I think that someone's gonna benchmark the thing real hard! Suspecting also that more driver updates will bring some performance gain. Can't wait to find out how much will it improve.
As you have an ARC, you can review on driver updates (maybe not for each one of them individually but as a collection after a certain time period). It will be interesting to see what changes are they bringing and how much they pay attention to their problems. Keeping track of the "New Kid in Town" as some call, might help.
So glad you got one. I bought one to play with on a spare computer but I am really struggling to get VRR/Adaptive sync to work consistently in every game. Never had an issue at all with Freesync. For some reason MW2 VRR doesn't work but Vanguard VRR does. Excited to see your review.
AG really hoping to see some benchmarks with these. Most of A770 reviews have been from October when it launched but I wish to see newer reviewes with the latest drivers. That will help confirm whether Alchemist's weakness is its hardware or its software.
I got in PCComponentes after seeing it discounted in Black Friday promotion. Agree with you, it looks pretty nice, compact size, surprising performance in certain games, but yeah, drivers need to be polished. But for being a first one from Intel, not a bad one.
Hmm looks like it might make a good backup desktop GPU! Once again great video I enjoyed it very much keep them coming so i can like comment and share!!!!!
Nice vid! I was able to score one, likely for collector purposes. Intel's very first higher end mainstream physical graphics card, and it looks awesome.
I had such high hopes for the card, especially now with prices on gpus still being high or having to go to scalpers for the 4090. I still kinda want to get one just to have it or an ITX build and i hear that the drivers are getting better and better and that they plan to release higher end gpus at some point but i might be wrong. Still a gorgeous card and can't wait for AMDs cards to come out. Holding on to my 3090 ti till i see amds responds then ill make a choice on what to buy. SAM is still exclusice to amd gpus and cpus right?
@@AncientGameplays oh ok awesome, been hearing great things in speculation of the 7900xtx, just waiting for reviews. 2500$ for a 4090 is just too much and 12-1400$ for a 4080 that at most I only gain 20fps over the 3090 ti. I got the 3090ti used from a friend cheap and this year is my upgrade year and went to the 13900k just hope amds gpu high will be a good match
I know you are more of a gpu guy, but do you think you can do monitor review from time to time? Because when i watch hardware unboxed, i dont understand what they are trying to say to me. Your explanation is always easy to understand.
I actually have a Intel A770 LE 16GB as my everyday GPU and the potential is enormous. The more resolution (1440p and above) the closer it gets in performance to giants like the 3070, specially in games with Raytracing, where these cards kinda excel for the price and the performance on games with complex RT.
I also have the same gpu and the hardware is on the level of the rx 6700 xt but only certain games run well on since intel's drivers hold back the gpu a lot but that is to be expected with the first dedicated gpu they have release in over 20 years. I did get spiderman remastered running at 1440p with raytracing on to run well at 1440p native and was almost always above 60 fps except for cpu bound areas with my 10700k. I did test black ops 3 and that ran at 1440p max settings around 100-160 fps most of the time. I tested quake 2 rtx at 1080p high global illumination with the raytracing api set to prefer KHR_ray_query and was getting 60-70 fps at native resolution and that beats the 3060 at path tracing on this gpu and is close to a 3060 ti in performance or a rx 6800 at raytracing.
Looks awesome, I think it looks better than rainbow color cards but Its kinda hard to find all blue PC xD still with white color looking would pretty good.
