Emma, thank you so much for this! It’s like having Emma’s library of best techniques concerning painting grass …the encyclopedia version… at my finger tips! So thorough, so complete! Again I thank you! 🇨🇦
Oh I agree, grass really is my challenge. You really do push your patience with the wonderful paintings you do. I am trying to learn from you. Hard with everyday life interruptions from family and pets, but pastels are great for this.
This is so helpful! I was just given a commission that will have the grass incorporated as the dog lays in the grass. Great techniques you're showing in this video, that I will definitely be using. Thank you so much!
Emma, thank you so much for this, I think that painting the grass is one of the most difficult subjects, because you need much patience for that, and wow! You're a amazing artist! You just put the pastel stick into the paper, and you do all amazing things! I don't have much patience for that, but I save this video for try it, thanks a lot! 🇵🇷
@@EmmaColbertArt Hi! Yes, I know, but is beautiful to do details, because it's looks so beautiful! I think pastels is more easy to do than pencils, and I love it! I admire you so much Emma❤🥰❤🥰
Thank you so much for this video Emma! It was so informative with the different types of grasses. I love doing detailed work, and this video really helped me to understand how to proceed with background grass. As always, I learn so much from your technique and videos.

Thank you Emma perfect timing, I'm expecting a small handful of green pastels to arrive any day now. So it will be fun to paint along with you experimenting with different techniques for capturing grass. You have such variety in your mark making giving such thought to your backgrounds.
Thank you so much for this, I've always tried to avoid doing grass, but it does make it pop into another dimention, I'm definately going to try it again referring to this tutorial (a lot ) thank you again.
Thank you so much! Emma, can I please ask, where the white flowers are did you have any dark underneath or did you preserve those areas to maintain the bright whites? 🎀
I did leave a lot of gaps for the white flowers. The majority of the flowers were darker than white but I wanted the white highlights to stand out. There is a full tutorial on those flowers and the long grass on my Patreon now.
Hi there, at the moment I don't have my tutorials available to purchase individually. It will be something coming soon on my site. But Patreon gives access to all the tutorials for a small amount. For now I've kept it at that but I will create a shop soon for them.
