I lived in Northern Arizona and frequently would see Bullock's Orioles, of all places, visiting my Hummingbird feeder. I strategically placed the feeder by my kitchen window with curtains just a few inches apart to not startle the birds with any movement on my part. A great way to enjoy a morning cup of coffee.
Sounds like a great way to start the morning.
We would love to visit Arizona. Something we are considering for next year, possibly.
Beautiful bird that Bullocks Oriole, congrats on seeing it :)
Thanks, thankful that it was showing so well 😊
Always love watching local nature creators! Good luck on your 300!
Thank you! And thanks for watching 👍
That's an incredible find! Congrats on an awesome rare sighting in Toronto! Lot of birds ending up in strange places these days.
Thanks bud, was fairly bold once it popped out on show. Good looks. Very popular bird here over the last few weeks.
There's been a few unusual birds around this winter. Bit too far for me to go, but there's been a Western Tanager hanging around Ottawa.
Thanks so much my friend for sharing another wonderful video like always 🤗👍
Thank you Miguel! Happy birding! 😊
How thrilling you got to see the Bullock's oriole here in Toronto and thanks for pointing out what made it a first year male... The red-necked grebes are fascinating to watch, especially when they're displaying some courtship behaviour. I've seen them many times but never gets boring to see again. Thanks for the views and sharing the experience. No need to apologize or ask for our patience... this is what birding is all about and as a bird lover I find all sightings delightful to watch (you do a great job filming and photographing!)
Thanks so much for the lovely comment ☺️
nice video buddy, I have Wood duck in mine this time too! Loving the Red necked Grebe
Thanks Nigel, cool duck to photograph/video 😊
Cool video! I live in western Washington and have been birding for about 5 years and just saw my first Bullock's Oriole a week ago.
Thanks Richard. Congrats on the Bullock's
So many WOWs! Cutie ❤
lol thanks MJ.
Looking forward to more of your sightings with you fancy new smartphone camera 😊
What is funny is you had the Oriole in Toronto we had a Western Tanager here in Ottawa this winter. Great video.
Thank you Peter. I've seen the Western Tanager reports for the last few months. It has been tempting. A good one for Ontario and a good one for our year. But not a lifer for us, else we might be there!
Thanks for posting!
Thanks for watching, Treva!
Can you reduce the volume slightly on the intro video compilation as it's louder than the rest of the video's audio? My wife have been watching with baby in arms and it's slightly startling when it comes on :) Thanks for making great videos!
Yeah, I'll take a look at that. Thanks for the feedback 👍
Orioles are such beautiful birds. 🟠⚫️
They are! Looking forward to our warm-weather Oriole visitors!
That was great footage of the Bullock's oriole. I've never seen a red-necked grebe, but I have seen a least grebe as well as a pied-billed grebe.
Thanks Nathan! ☺️
the green on a Green Winged Teal's wing is on the secondaries aka speculum, not on the scapulars
Just 208 species to go, can't wait to see how you get on, good luck!
Thanks so much 😊
Closer we get, the harder it will be!
Holy shit this is different for me.
I didn't know you bird watchers have games and bingo cards and the like.
Seems like it's a lot more varied an activity than I thought.
Good for you guys. Have fun while doing good...
I saw that bird too!
Cool bird to see here, eh? 😎😁
There arer some great birds on the Lake of Bays, Gravenhurst, Peterborough. Sunnybrook park all the way to Don Mills was the park I grew up in and the Don Valley. Great birds there in 70s cardinals all kinds even gold finch I think loved the barn swallows and purple martins. point pele near Leamington has great birds too.
Yep, great locations. We've done videos in some of them and we are off to Pelee soon.
@@BritHikesOntario Watch for the turtles crossing :) great sightings.
lived by High Park for three years
Best I ever saw was an eagle and cardinals
but My eyes weren,t open
Eagle with closed eyes is pretty cool 😊
Orioles are common enough, my neighbor uses a specialized feeder that attracts them specifically. Then they poop on my clothes line after some fine dining next door. I honestly feel your wife is being dragged into this against her wishes, if Sara prefers sleeping in and making pan cakes I suggest you leave her be. Sumac seeds can be used to make form of tea/fruit juice, look it up perhaps you will like it.
Sara (the wife) here to say definitely not being dragged against my will, and I don't sleep in/know what you're implying with the rest of the comment. Admittedly not the most comfortable person on camera tho.
In terms of being common, there are many species of oriole, the Bullock's was last seen in Toronto in 1980, a number of years before I was born 😊
