Fireside Yankees, Great channel. You guys are very knowledgeable about our Yankees team! I agree I would like Christian walker as our Yankees first baseman! Money for first base should not get in the way to re-sign Soto! Plus, I agree I do not want Pete Alonso as a Yankee first baseman. Alonso is regressing, I think. Go Yankees in 2025!
I like having a switch hitting 1st baseman and it gives more flexibility long term he will come for 1 year and then we have more options around the field
Walker, Durbin, Volpe, Jazz Infield, Judge LF, 👽CF, Soto RF, Wells C, get a defensive Backup catcher, Trade Nestor for Closer from Angels make him our 8inning guy Weaver can close, get another miss bats reliever,, Add /trade for another Starter Sasaki, Lefty from Whitesox, Snell 1 Of These and We r Back in WS next year!!!
Instead of Soto I would be happy with Walker, Teoscar, Arenado, a SP=Fried or Flattery and 2 RP=Hoffman, Tanner and the roster will be drastically better next season. This team has too many holes to spend $650M on Soto as far as Im concerned.
If we sign Soto, we will probably have to take Santana, who isn't chopped liver. at and he''ll be inexpensive. if we can't sign Soto, we'll have more money and need more from First
After the Yankees resign Soto, here's the trade that solves the Yankees remaining position player issues : Yankees get : Bellinger (1b), Nico Hoerner (2b), $8 million in cash (to bring Bellinger down to $20m) Cubs get : Everson Pereira, Jorbit Vivas, Will Warren Cubs get younger and cheaper. Yankees get their leadoff hitter (Hoerner) and a lefty cleanup hitter 1b (Bellinger) to hit between Judge & Stanton. Yankees would be much better on the bases and defensively.
Carlos Santana is really the only answer for first base and that’s only IF the Yankees aren’t going to go with Rice/DJ. I understand as fans we don’t want to even hear DJ’s name as an “answer” to any position. Unfortunately, there’s zero reality in the Yankees spending on Walker plus bullpen reinforcements and Soto. We’re gonna have one of the youngest teams we’ve ever had next year (in my lifetime anyway) regardless of how accurately we can project the future of such a young team. We’re gonna see Durbin, Rice, Dominguez, and some young arms all get a lot of reps out of spring training. My assumption is we’ll end up spending money at the back end of the bullpen (as of right now beyond defense and base running the bullpen would project to be the weakest area of our team) and on Soto and from there we’ll hear from Hal that spending will be limited. Then we’ll hear from Cashman on how we’re gonna all the sudden rely on our farm system more than we ever have.I do expect at least one trade we didn’t see coming for a starter that’s getting too expensive for a low budget team but that’s never really reached true potential or is injury prone…something of the sort (Braxton Garret ish). I think the team will project to be worse off on paper than 2024’s starting roster but ultimately I believe guys like Rice and Dominguez will finally form the next young core of Yankee players along w/ Soto .
lets nail down Walker NOW lets not let Boras string us along with Soto not get him and then have too much heavy lifting to do...better Yet Adames..move Jazz to 2nd ...that would Block our Version of Altuve we got in minors the downside of this...
I honestly do not know why more clubs do not use rolling contracts with older players. Example you have Christian Walker 33 years old he wants say a 4/5 year deal. The yanks are like no thanks too long. Why not just say here is a 2 year contract and if your numbers are good you automatically get a 1 year extension and that will continue until your numbers start dropping. The yanks then have an out every year and the player has a reason to actually put in some effort. Just my opinion
@BobbyMilone29 If they get Soto and Walker, they will have 8-12m to spend for the rest of the team to get payroll under 300m So unless they move Nestor and/or Stroman to cut $ OR Hal commits to spend over 300m, I can't see Walker coming
How about they trade him.. I told Yankees fans yrs ago judge is the cancer on this Yankees team he plays in the regular season but dissappears in da playoffs.. he's getting older and he will be slower he will definitely lose bat speed. I see judge getting hurt every yr until he retires . Jude was a big mistake and I said this yrs ago
This guy knows ball

ryan young and knowledgeable. impressive.
Walker is the best choice.

Couldn’t say it any better
The angels aren’t trading him
@ maybe if Yanks sweeten the pot, prospects also or money or both
If he's posted, Munetaka Murakami from Japan.
All in on Carlos Santana. 1 yr/$8 million dollars.
Yep. We need that left hand bat.

Long term walker deal at 34 years old great investment, good job cashman

The Yankees don't want players with a qo.because they'll lose a draft pick and international money.

Trade for Nate Lowe. Rangers have payroll issues and have to add pitching, so they will try an unload expensive arb position players
Pete Alonso enters the chat
Walker could be the next dj or rizzo hes gonna get old soon after we get him
Yankees Dream Team
1B Christian Walker
2B Jazz Chisholm
3B Durbin
SS Volpe
LF Juan Soto
CF Aaron Judge
RF Anthony Santander
They can’t afford walker soto and Santander… plus that is the worst and slowest outfield defense by far in the mlb
I would have Dominguez in CF. Judge and Soto are corner outfielders
@ bet good looks
@ Pete Alonso or Christian Walker at 1B?
Cashman gonna sign Joey votto
You can get Goldsmith or Santana for a year or two don't get Ben rice a chance to get to his Peak
Everytine we say that someone is perfect for our team, we won't get that player. It seems to happen every year. I'm just saying.
i mean we got Juan Soto haha

they do, they call them player options -- Stroman has one, if he pitched 140 IP next year he gets a player option for 2026
Christian Walker>
no Walker. they wont spend IFA money for him. they saving for Rory Sasaki

Move Captain Zer0 to first. All Rise!

Santander is a yankees

Yankee fans "old right handed hitter are wrong for the Yankees"
Also Yankee fans, "let's go out and get a 39 year old player"
No More Old players TIME FOR more younger
