Proper football. Best channel on UA-cam. And oxford played in yellow shirts, yet they had red goal nets. Always thought that strange.
Just a few weeks before Bradford and Heysel ... pretty bleak time.
Aldridge was some striker every where he went in british football over 50 years, up there with greaves, rush ,shearer, mcoist 300 goals or so in career
Many a mullet paraded. Waddle's one of the worst if not thee worst!
Top left score stays 0-0 throughout the game
BobbyMcDonald won both Third Division and Second Division championship with Oxford.
I think the score line indicator is broken in the top left corner!!!
I love it when a new 80s Match of the Day pops up in my subscriber feed. Thanks for posting these
Gary Gillespie putting the elbow into the back of George Riley’s head right on half time as retribution for sticking Phil Neal. Class 😆
Even the kits were better back then. Just traditional colours and simple but stylish. None of the vomit inducing crap we get now. Plus they changed them every 2 seasons, not every 5 minutes like they do now. Money really has fucked our game up.
distantvoices I liked them tbh. Especially compared to the crap we get now where virtually every single one is for some Far East betting company we’ve never heard of!!!
Celtics home crowds at times were shocking in the 80s oxford had great support this era cant beleve the manager gave the fans a slagging
Glasgow suffered as badly as Merseyside in the 1980s,as did places like the North East,so empty terracing was not an uncommon thing. Deja vu.
Love the refs name in the Liverpool game. Gilbert Napthine 😀
I wonder if that kick to Roeders head caused his brain injury as a manager
Lawro's highlights 😀
neal as a broken nose carries on players in the prem now get a broken toe nail they go of injured
Paul Mcdonough --- Broken nose could have meant concussion, it could have also led to breathing problems in the future. Mad to keep playing without getting it properly treated.
20:10 --- Listen carefully. Turn up the volume a little.
They actually wore shorts & not long johns as they do nowerdays.Fine pair of thighs boys show them off.
