Great video. I used your advice and bought one. And you are 100% wright about saving time in planting and harvesting. Thank you for your time and effort and for making this video. I have seen all of your videos and have used your methods for planting and harvesting.
You remind me of my neighbor. He also has great knowledge of gardening and tractor implements. He has shared a great deal w me and is as patient w me as you are in explaining these things. Also you remind me of my family down in Eunice Louisiana. I'd recognize that accent anywhere! Thanks for sharing
this year I did not till I just middle busted the rows and planted potatoes. I was surprised at the tilth some very friable dirt of what was so much clay added hundreds of tons of compost and the garden is not even an acre. These potatoes did great w/ no tilling and hilling untill flowering. Once someone asked if you could wash them and I have on occasion with never a problem. you have to be cautious though. I would have gone into detail had I seen that comment.
GOOD GOOGEDY GOO!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at the size of that carrot at 4:00! NICE!! That would keep every rabbit fed in your area over the winter, lol! Nice video.
What is your secret to growing carrots? We've tried everything, we even tried them in a raised bed with bagged garden soil and grew weeds not carrots... Love your videos and you make it look easy. All about the right tool for the right job.
carrots are hard, because they don't really compete well with anything lol. prepare the place where you want to plant them the autumn prior to planting (tilling, tilthing, etc.) then tarp it with something like a silage tarp. leave it that way untill you want to plant in the spring (do no-till or only till the top inch), and you should minimize the weed pressure. you can also mulch them with clean straw, leaves or wood chips once they're 2-3" tall.
depends on their size. people often cut them into pieces and wait at least a day for them to heal over. slso here 2 seasons in a year the 2nd disease more prevalent so uncut is always for the fall planting
I sure miss my ole buddy He was a true champion
Yes he was.
I never met you but I feel like you were my friend. I miss you brother.
