"We've got this baby bed, that's currently not in use. Don't get any ideas from that." Exactly one year from the post of this video, "The day our child arrived." lol Congratulations! I love your channel!
I noticed that too lol
I was about to say the same thing lol
Jaime Linton exactly what I was thinking
Agree
Lol, ikr
If she's laying at all her eggs are probably fertilized! Keep some eggs and hatch them out
+Candice Christensen - she’s about 6 months old and hasn’t laid yet, as far as we can tell. The male hadn’t mated with her yet unless we missed it. I think she’ll start laying any time now though.
White House on the Hill here's what I've done when a ton wasn't available. The turkey hen went to visit a neighborhood Tom, then after a few days, came home. We ended up with all forthcoming eggs hatching successfully.
@@navarra-qf2ds she said they were not eating them
My friend had one of those turkeys just show up with her chickens one day. She seems perfectly content with the chickens. Sorry to hear about your tom, he was pretty.
+MotherOfManyHorses - yes, ours have gotten along pretty well together. Short of bedtime, the turkeys get a little mean making room on the roost at bedtime.
MotherOfManyHorses I won’t kill her I will have her as a really awesome pet turkey 🦃 ide like to buy her
Like yeah
That's sad that tom died right
He was beautiful.
So sorry about your tom. We lost our biggest one two days before we were going to process.
+Heartiness Approach - thank you, Jim & Rhenda. Really frustrating to lose an animal that we had such big expectations for!
What does before you were going to process mean?
eat him
The turkey probably knew what was going to happen to him
Panic At The Disco Is Legit - I think that is a nice way to say «slaughter»...
You two are the cutest couple and Sweetest family!!!
+Juanita Arroyo - thank you!
WTW
ik
I love them
Well i agree but my family is better than this family
Dang, imagine if you died whenever you got super stressed out, like no one would ever make it all the way past college
Having someone who would surprise you by taking a load out of your "to-do" list is just goals. Great family
Hi Becky, It's so sad about your turnkey and how beautiful a turkey! OMG, I have never seen one that pretty. I wrote that breed down because I will get one for sure. You are also such a great gardener. Started plants and all. Even though we do not have our homestead yet, I am planting things in my apartment. Jake did a good job about the bunk beds. I hope you find someone that will take care of the female turkey who is pretty as well. Stress is even a factor in our health. I know that for sure. Take care and hugs to you and your family, the boys are absolutely adorable!! Big smile - Anna Banana
+Anna Dela Cruz - he's a Royal Palm... we did get a new Tom in this video: ua-cam.com/video/lpRr7Uss6pw/v-deo.html
How long did that take:I like my own commits:
so sad
Yeah don’t be sad
“No Garcia logic” SHUt the heck up obviously there going to cry a rooster died that they knew for a while.i bet you don’t know how sad it is.
Sounds like your Tom had a heart attack and turkeys are know to have heart attacks.
+Timothy Hughes - very possible
This is a wild guess, but is this Timothy Hughes that goes to tomaree high school?
@@selenabiano9901 uhhh creeper?
SparkyLynx I’m sorry I just have a best friend from tomaree high named Timothy Hughes 😂
@@selenabiano9901 oh i see
So sorry about your turkey! However this was a super helpful video because one of our mostly grown turkeys passed away suddenly for no apparent reason. I didn't realize they can legitimately panic themselves to death, so it's good to have some idea why our bird died. Thank you for sharing!
Good day to you guys !! 👍👍😁😁 Thanks for sharing your homesteading stories and adventures with us all today 😁😁👍👍
+50 shades of green - absolutely!
That is the most beautiful crib ever.
you have some serious patience my dude. My dad would've banned me from the room, if he had to do a project like that.
He was so majestic and beautiful. Sorry for the loss. 🌈🐥🐣🌻💪you the man!!!💪the boys room was cute......God Bless n 🐝 safe.......
Once again, I thank your Family for sharing with the rest of us, your daily lives.
You did a great job taking down the beds,I'm sorry for you loss.
+nickie rodriquez - thank you, Nickie!
Welcome home Mama WHOTH! Yes, I think this year everyone is rolling their eyes about the weather, needing to get those baby greens out. Great job on the boys room. So sorry about the turkey, it's really hard when it's a fluke and as a result of something we changed. Smiles and blessings...
+Lisa Vanvalkenburgh - thank you, Lisa!
Thank you for helping the animals I hope everyone is ok😁
Sorry to hear about your Turkey. Good job with beds. Hope all goes well. Great video! Take care!
That’s really weird about the Tom. Finding another Tom is a good idea. Bless you all!
+Cassity ART - thank you, Cassity... we're going to see what we can find to replace him
so many wonderful animals and an awesome Garden awwww that's a pretty turkey I am so sorry for your Loss wow 🐈🦃🐔🐄🐖🐤🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🤗🤗🤗🤗🏠😍😍😍😍😍😍🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱
the turkeys name was Royal Palm R.I.P.
I’ve been watching for a long time! I love your stories and appreciate the work it takes to make these videos!
Becky! Nice to see you back. So sorry bout your tom turkey 😢. THOSE BOYS! CRACK! ME! UP! I just adore them... Hubby and I was watching your vid and walking down memory lane 😢😊 bitter/sweet. Thank you for sharing.....👍😊
+Mahealani Whitehead - aw, thank you. Glad to hear it stirred up some good memories!
I’m with you on the gardening. I want to get them outside so bad. But we had snow yesterday
+Christina Hankins - will it ever end!?!
White House on the Hill oh my goodness I hope so. My peas and green beans are so tall
Your Tom turkey was so beautiful! I’ve never seen one like before. My brother raised hundreds of turkeys in the 60’s. My first roast turkey weighed 30 #.
It was delicious. After a few years The turkey market went broke and so did my brother.
+janet hedberg - he's a Royal Palm, fairly common heritage breed, but ours was a good one, we miss him.
Sorry for your loss. Way to make momma happy by doing that for the boys. I bet they still sleep together. :)
+Mrs Farm Alarm - they've liked their space so far, but give it a few weeks, and they'll be ready to sleep together again.
Welcome Home Sweet Becky~~ So sorry about your Tom turkey :( .. This weather is messing around with alot of our Gardens and plantings,, my tomatoes look really sad,, they want outside to harden off,, and I have to wait to put them on my enclosed porch because even that gets too cold at night ...Great Job with the boy's beds Jake (( I held my breath when you had the bed on your back...Have a wonderful Sunday y'all...
+Dawna Karma - thanks, Dawna! It sure is frustrating, cold then hot, back to cold... we start planting and a freeze comes through, it's so hard to be patient!
Welcome home mom. We miss you on the channel.
+April Garrahan - thank you, April!
That kid falling tho 😂 he be like: Roblox version OOF’n lol but I’ll feel sorry for his head 😬☹️

Good job fixing up the boy's room. Maybe down the road a piece they'll want them bunk beds back, it would free up a bit more play room on the floor.
Too bad about the turkey. What an odd way to go, who would have thought! My co-hort/mentor used to raise the fowl and always said turkeys were so stupid they'd drown in a rain storm... Maybe you can find an adult male to buy, or breed her to, so you can hatch babies.
+ubetchya78 - yeah, we cycle the bunk beds through every 4-6 months, it seems. They go back and forth on wanting their own space and then wanting to be near each other. The turkeys aren't the smartest, but you're right, replacing the Tom is the route we're looking to go.
I feel for you re wanting to get past freezing temps. Got 2 feet of new snow on Friday and it was 16 degrees F when I got up this am. Spring really needs to get some muscles and kick winter to the curb!
+FallingLeaves - yes, it’s truly exhausting! We just want to start planting and be outside during the day. It’s so frustrating!
I like a 1-gallon pump sprayer, works great for seedling, just don't pump too much pressure in it.
+Gail Elwood - we have one of those but hadn’t used it in awhile. Good tip!
So sorry you lost your Tom. He was a beautiful turkey! I agree with you about the endless winter. I can’t get nothing out here in Ohio.
I wanted to thank you guys for taking time to give us advice on potty training. We have no friends or family with boys and you really made my daughter feel more at ease. She started watching your videos and it made her more comfortable. More confident she was doing things just fine. It was just very nice of you and we truly appreciated it.
God Bless you all ~Lisa
+Lisa Booker - thank you very much for the follow up on that. I read your response to Becky - she wrote the last response to you. Thank you for keeping us updated and for the kind words!
Jake: Props on Communications and ingenuity!! Rock it, Jake.
Sorry to hear about your tom 😢☹️😥 Glad you are getting away from bunk beds. They can be very dangerous. Have a friend who lost one of his twin boys when the top bunk fell on the lower bunk while the boys were rough housing.
Sorry about your turkey!! You were sad it is sad. Hope your son is ok from that fall off the bed. Enjoy and learn a lot from your channel.
I learn a lot from this UA-camr.
your black and white turkeys are the first turkeys that color i had ever seen their beautiful so sorry to hear one has flown the coop so to speak god bless u and urs ps glad ur back too
+Penny Hardin - thanks, Penny. Yes, the Royal Palm turkey is a gorgeous breed.
The kids bed turned out great, sorry to hear about your Tom turkey, he was lovely looking,
Hi...... Becky, thank you for sharing your video homestead 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 🎥👍👍👍
That male turkey was so gorgeous. I’m so sorry for ur loss. That is such a bummer. Birds do die from stress often I’ve noticed that a lot with ducks . Also parakeets can die from grief if their cage mate dies they get depressed and won’t eat . Sad situation.
+tanya johnson - yes, definitely a stress-related death. Such a bummer, he was a good Tom for us.
What a beauty when he was puffed out. So sorry. Od has a plan in place for you. ❤
Awe I’m so sorry! 😩Random things happen like that with farming a lot. You can never know.
We have a bit of snow this morning. Boo hiss! Good job with the bed and boys room. Sorry about the turkey. That's a huge disappointment. - Janette
+The Neals' Homestead - I know, will the snow ever go away!
7:05 RIP from the United states
So sorry. He was very beautiful. I lost a couple of my pet turkeys. I bawled. They were each so beautiful and friendly. Look on Craigslist for a new Tom. I would love buy your royal palm hen but I’m in St. Louis county Mo
+Juli Viel - we weren't quite as sad with losing him as we were with losing our last two main roosters, but very disappointing to lose him right as he was hitting breeding age. We're definitely looking to replace him with another Tom... we'll see how it goes.
So sorry about your turkey, he was beautiful.
+Debra Murray - thank you, Debra
You are a good hearted man and you can tell you that the same time I don’t know if I can get it done before I

Bless his heart... stuck in a box, you could not have seen that one coming.
Just found your channel! Been watching several of your videos instead of doing housework. LOL
Love your videos and I'm so sorry to hear about your tom turkey. He sure was beautiful! Also, I didn't think peacocks were that expensive. A neighbor down the road a ways raised some but he never mentioned how expensive they were. That just crazy. Heck they run wild all over Florida. People probably steal their eggs & sell them. LOL
+gurky2hart6566 - thanks for being distracted from your chores! That happens to me all the time as well!
The grandparents in Willie Wonka 😂😂😂 bwahahaha!! Sorry about your turkey though 😢

this is what happens when you BOTH give 100%! Love your videos! BTW Turkeys dont back up!
Sorry to hear abt your beautiful tom turkey😔 he was so beautiful!
joshchicago2008 - thank you
My grandmother used to keep turkeys to sell and from what my mum told me, turkeys are kinda delicate birds that have been known to pass away from stressing themselves out. Our chickens on the other hand were really tough and hardy birds. We weren't so lucky with sexing them and unfortunately ended up with three roosters...one of them became the dominant male and the other two just happily went along with it. They lived with us for quite a few years until they were either killed by stray cats or accidentally died.
New sub from Albany Oregon, just came across your channel, I love the videos watched a couple of them 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😀😀😀😀😀

Great job with the beds. And rearranging the room. Sorry about your turkey. How about finding a tom turkey that is about the same age? We are all learning.
+Homesteading with the Hebert’s - thank you for the tip... we explored that route today!
White House on the Hill any luck
+Homesteading with the Heberts - lots of luck!
glad to here it. I can't wait to see the video showing that.
God bless the poor thing! ❤️
I feel bad when he fell of the bed

This happened to one of my barred rocks! We had tubes to feed the chickens, she climbed into the tube and got stuck, and yes, she died..
This was sad, sorry for your loss. It makes me think twice about eating turkey.
So sorry for your loss. My husband and I had a turkey like him and a mate like your female. Well, a stray dog got to our Tom and injured him so bad that my husband had to put him down. Anyway, it absolutely broke my heart to see his "widow" going back to where she seen him last on a daily basis. Maybe it was a coincidence or maybe it was a search for a lost love. One will never know....
Where I live in Michigan - we have wild turkeys everywhere. Scare the daylights out of you when flies out of the bush and into the path of your car. They're huge! Sorry about your beautiful TOM who passed. What a shame. Condolences.
You might not need to replant the things that haven't come up yet. I planted seeds a few months ago in our cold frames and just a couple of weeks ago they started to come up (now that it's a little warmer). I tend to plant in big plastic cups (like red solo cups) so they have more room before I need to transplant. I'm so sorry about your Tom, he was a beautiful bird.
+When In Idaho - we’ll give the seeds a few more weeks and see if anything pops up. Otherwise, no biggie if we have to swap them out. We have a lot of seeds, and not much growing yet.
Heat Attacks are very common these days . And 8:04 Remaining Chickens are crying so hard too.
I love that he took down the crib last year April and they will have to put it back up this year April for the new baby!!💕🥰😁
This family is THE BEST, whoever has a problem watching their lives,,,,GO ELSEWHERE, YOU DONT HAVE TO BE HERE,or fast forward.
I feel soo bad hope you get a another one I have a lot of memory's of him
A bird cam with view screens from the house would be helpful you could see if there is trouble before its too late and you have a tragedy on your hands, also would be fun to see live stream bird cam. Maybe some nice sponsor could provide some, hint, hint, : ) Love your videos thinking of having a farm but the learning curve is quite steep, would need a beginner farmers monitor kit. : D
Iam so sorry for ur loss
Becky: Props on ingenuity and not really complaining. Good marriage.
That was so beautiful but unfortunately no more it's really sad news sorry dear
I am praying ok I loved that turky
He was a beautiful bird for sure ...... too bad. Take care.
We’ve had accidentally deaths in the coop as well. So sorry for your turkey
+Chick-a-Woof Ranch - thanks, guys
Awww I’m so sorry. 😢🙏🏼
Jake, I was telling you to take one of three keyrings off the flashlights. LOL But, you figured it out. 😎
And, of course, the boys start using the bed when you are about to take it down.
Sad to hear what happened to the turkey. 😣
+Rick Mitchell - yep, those boys only want to play up there when we go up there to clean the place up! Thank you for your thoughts.
I’m coming from the futur to tell you you’re going to have to rebuild that crib VERY soon! 😆
This was in April of this year, and you guys were scheduled for a big freeze?!! Wow, didn't think ya guys were that northern, so while Becky planted those veggies indoors, seems like they want to be transplanted out, well at least in a bigger pot. As for the moment you focus on the baby crib, lol...getting ready to congratulate you both, thinkin' li'l Uriah and Eli will soon have a sibling, but no, just taking it down and putting the upper bunk as a normal individual bed, Becky sure was happy to see the work ya did, and so was grandma, who's mom Becky's or yours? As for the Royal Palm Tom, yeah he sure was a real beauty, well, things can just happen at random, good thing is most things have a positive side to them and few a negative as in the case of this Tom dying.
+Joe Serrano - we had snow into May this year... it was cold two months later than most years. That is Becky's mom... they live about 10 minutes away from us. Raising offspring from our Royal Palm pair right now in fact.
Watching this now and laughing, I bet Jake's face was priceless when he was told he's gonna have to put the crib back together now.
+Ciaran Duignan - that’s how it goes... a continuous cycle of taking it apart and putting back together 😀
Domesticated turkeys are generally about as smart as a brick. My mother swears a bunch of grandma's turkeys drowned in a big thunderstorm looking up to see what was pelting them. True or not, they simply don't have the brains of their wild ancestors. The were bred for meat, not smarts.
+Barbara Vick - apparently so!
Barbara Vick, I've heard that before, too. LOL! I believe it's just an example of how stupid they are, at least I hope it is. Surely there couldn't have been more than one flock that drowned that way!
So sorry, about your turkey. Animals are very creative, in how they manage, to hurt or kill themselves.
+Nearly Organic Noshing - no doubt, we never thought that was possible!
aawww poor turkey. He was a beauitful handsone boy. Its so sad how he died. I hope you find another Tom turkey.
+Ann Mittelstadt - we did a couple videos later: ua-cam.com/video/lpRr7Uss6pw/v-deo.html
Way to go day with the bedroom!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
+Kristen Hallman - thanks!
