The big first fireplace was used for grilling -- see the grill shelves? Used for cooking in the old days. The creek would have been used in the winter as a refrigerator for milk and frozen meats to keep all winter without having to salt and cure the meat. They would have dug a little cave to the side of the creek, lined it with straw, and then with ice from the edges of the creek. Didn't float the meat or milk containers, etc. in the icy cold water itself. The reason why so much clothing and shoes are left is because these items were only used at this particular property and were kept here all the time to lessen travel luggage to and from here. Same with their personal items. Left here year round. I love the lace curtains. I love all the different chairs around the kitchen table. The items in this house may not have been heirloons of the family but antiques bought to decorate their country vacation/hunting lodge house. I think that 2 families, perhaps the families of 2 siblings would meet here for family get-togethers. This is typical of larger families. I like all the wood stoves. There is no more comfortable heat than wood heat and the smell of hard woods like hickory burning.
This is an interesting home and all the beds. I loved the creek just outside and so peaceful. Glad the young man that fell through the ceiling wasn't hurt. Leslie please stay safe and really enjoyed this video.
this is an amazing fine maybe this is a place where hunters went and they stayed there while they hunted for a few days and there also was a family very very interesting thank you ever so much
It's impressive how the house still preserves an aura of harmony and family love after all these years and your narrative adds even more to it! A lovely exploration,as usual!
These videos are very sad to me. It's like preserved memories of times past and everyone's gone. 😭 What a beautiful piece of property. They lived so simply, but perfectly fine. I'd love to live somewhere like this and fix it up. Great video and I respect how respectful you are towards these people's belongings even though they're gone.
Loved this video Lesley i wud love to live there i wud fix it up and live in peace fir the rest of my life and anyone wud be welcome to come and stay. The leaves u found in plastc cover are called four leaf clover very rare to find and are considered lucky as mainly they are tree leaf.
This picture literary stopped my heart. What a sad sight to see! Those beautiful beds that once had been the cozy, comfortable spots of love and restfulness for those long forgotten people of the house, are now been subjected to decay, ignorance, and forgetfulness! Nothing remains the same except the ephemeral nature of life. After all, that is what life is, isn't that so?
@@1959Berre I am sorry I've made a mistake. I meant to say 'literally' not literary. Anyway, to say 'heart stopped' doesn't always mean that someone's heart really stopped and that person doesn't survive anymore. It's a very common poetical term to express a deep sorrow that suddenly rises within somebody's heart. I wonder why you haven't heard the term before.
Walking up to the property, listening to the sound of water from that beautiful small creek in front of that beautiful simple home is the best! The findings in the home are just wonderful, especially the drawings from the children. The question will always be there, what happened to the family and why did they leave everything behind? Thanks for taking us on another wonderful journey through this once beautiful home..stay safe healthy and blessed! From Southern California ☀️
Bess you Leslie for this fascinating video. Incredible story from out of the past. Wow, 16 beds. I think the dining room table was probably to small for all. The ceiling's were so short. This place would give me claustrophobia. The very best part about this video was the stream in front of the home and the beautiful music it made. Imagine waking every morning to that sound. It would be lovely.
We call the plant on the picture a clover similar to how you said it also we call the lamp cover a lamp shade. Great content so sad to see a beautiful home left to ruin. Greetings from the uk
Wow I just love the way you tell the stories of this house. You make me feel like if I was there,So sad just to imagine why they had to abandon there home,God bless you and your team for making this wonderful videos, all you guys have to walk and go through, love you guys,❤️😘
Holy moly! Luca made me jump out of my skin! Glad he is ok.. very interesting how things were left behind. Maybe they were coming back and couldn’t. Sad how sometimes these things happen. Thank you for sharing.
Yes, I remember your video you filmed of your granddad's house. It had many good childhood memories for you. It was one of my favorite videos you did. 👍❤👩🦳
Very interesting, and loved the antiques, and the kitchen was my favorite. The leaf in the frame looked like a four leaf clover, an old saying was the four leaf clover was good luck . Thanks for sharing another great old house, stay safe . 😊🌻🌹
Ohh really what an amazing place! With all those shedding trees, that mountain range behind, that creek or inlet whatever we call it, in short whole scenario held me spellbound. I'd love to live in such a place with nature as my neighbour, such a heartwarming milieu. And those antique pieces of furniture, specially three tier vintage stove, I don't have much idea about all these, but from your videos I learned about various furniture, so from that little knowledge I can say for sure I've never seen anything like that before. Here's a confession- I'm literally grateful to you for enriching my knowledge about different cultures and definitely their belongings. I truly feel blessed to have accidentally found out your channel. The black coat just beside the door in upstair bathroom seemed like someone was standing there 😄😄😄😄 Little kitchen, that small living room, so many beds, walking sticks at one side and toys of children on the other side, sewing machines .... it's like memories from people aged from 8 to 80 are scattered all around. The most scary part was when your friend Luka was about to fell and another one was when peel off paint got into your eyes. I know you guys are always careful, still be more careful. And when floor is covered with something, you should always check before stepping on to it. Take care. Be more careful. Stay blessed, happy and healthy. 👍👍😇😇🙏🙏
With all of the beds, chairs, stoves, irons, and sewing machines it makes me wonder if there were several seamstresses living and working from this house. Fascinating find, thank you for exploring it!
This may well be the most fascinating and confusing explore you have done Leslie but please be careful we nearly lost Luca ! With all the beds I think this was a hunting lodge . Thanks for sharing x Jan x
The first thing I thought when you showed the stream and the house together was that the house was too close to the stream. One overflo in the spring and as we saw and two a flooded basement. I can think of reasons other than deaths why they walked away from it. The two above are enough but others also. However, I did like the place and it had been well used I think. There are still other houses close by I think I saw some as you walked up to the house. So the area is not necessarily in the middle of nowhere. You still are so much fun to watch Lesley. We miss Jordy but glad to still have you. The old lady in Vermont.
Que casa charmosa! Amei mais esta exploração. Gosto da maneira gentil como você trata as memórias das casas, Leslie. Do fundo do coração agradeço as legendas em português. ❤️
That's stream running on the property was so amazing I would love to have that can you imagine having the deer drink out of it and the Little Critters everyday they probably had some very awesome times there
Bet it is really beautiful when all the trees and grass are green and blooming. Your voice is mesmerizing. Love u and ur videos . Watching from Arizona USA. The home inside is so dark not cheery at all. The walls texture makes it looks so dirty.
OMGOSH!! My heart stopped when I heard that noise of something falling! You are so adorable, your kind face was of shock until you knew all was ok. That would startle anyone! So grateful everyone was ok. I love all of your adventures! I would love to do the adventures with you but I know you hear that all the time. Ever since I was child I was always curious and would venture into empty places. I could never get anyone to go with me and now I’m too old but if it looked safe enough I would still try. People think I’m crazy. Thanks to brave people like you and others I can live vicariously through you. Thank you for sharing. You do such a fantastic job and are so respectful of all the properties. What another beautiful piece of history. Thank you for taking us along and sharing your videos. Such a beautiful and wonderful hobby, I would love to be able to get out and do what you do. Again thank you all.
Lesley, awesome explore! Love the stream. It's so calming. I was as surprised as you with 16 beds in the house!!! I also have a feeling that maybe 2 or 3 up in the attic were used because they were made up with blankets and bed spreads. Too bad about the water in the attic and basement. Glad your friend is ok. Love your videos!❤

Gosh, I am so glad you didnt go into the basement! This was such an amazing place to visit. I would have loved to have stayed there when it was in it's prime!
Such a sad story, I really wonder why they did abandon this place! At 22:59 minutes in, I was a little creeped out-those stains on the bed is *hopefully* just moisture, but it really looks like someone has been laying there bleeding! Glad your friend is OK after falling through the floor! I almost fell down into a basement once while exploring an abandoned house together with a friend, I was crossing a floor with a plastic floor mat covering, but what I didn't know was that the floor was totally rotten (old plywood) and wet underneath, so I fell through! But thankfully my feet found some solid ground when I had sunk to about the level of my waist. I was not hurt, but it was a reminder that floors are not always as solid as they look! (I personally ended up laughing so much I could hardly make it out of the hole, because my friend came running when he heard the crash, and got so scared when he saw me that he screamed and nearly tumbled backwards. I just said "no, I'm all right, but get out of here, the floor is rotten!" I didn't have to ask him twice!)
Wow what a beautiful house 🏠 loved d song 🎵 u played at d start...the creek awesome 👌..loved those drawings...Awesome vlog really enjoyed watching..waiting for d next video 😃
Thanks for sharing such a beautiful interesting place, I’ve never seen stoves/ heater like that before triple layer😮wow what a treasure! I can imagine it being a loving family home which lots of memories were made such a shame it’s abandoned.
Välkommen igen, och dina vänner.. Troende och lyckligt lottade. Platsen ledde Yakon Fong till de fångars Likuthrie, och han klev av järnvägsspåren.. Trevlig video
That creek outside this house was absolutely amazing!! It's so soothing...That would be such a beautiful & relaxing spot to live!! But why would they leave everything? Especially their shoes and jackets? That's strange....
Be cool if you had your own TV series! When you did the live stream the other day, you were very engaged with your viewers and its the same way when you film your videos. You also have a great eye for detail and a gift for film! More people need to see these places through your talented eyes!
Really enjoyed this one Leslie. Very interesting to see how they lived. Thank goodness Luca it’s OK! That’ll make your heart pump! Love from me and California 💜🤗😎😘🇺🇸💕happy Thanksgiving
Very beautiful and interesting place, make us think, why people let it all behind, what happened? Thank you for your very interesting videos. Blessings to all.
Increible, muchas Camas, Muchas maquinas de coser, muchos percheros de maderas, Muchas chimeneas de metal para calentar con leña. Y para cerrar con broche de oro, ver Pasar el tren. Bonita casa, y porque no tambien el Bosque. Saludos chicos desde Honduras y New Jersey.
Hi Leslie, I agree, the house looks made by a some old school craftsman. The little triple deck wood stove looks handmade as well. I would have been afraid to build so close to the creek. I've seen too many that flood in the spring and fall. I do love the sound of a bubbling brook. I'm sure they didn't like the train tracks, but I wouldn't move because of them. I'm glad your buddy wasn't injured. That was a close call. Great job on the editing, commentary, and music selection. I love the drone footage as well. Take care. Peace.
It absolutely blows my mind that people just disappear from their homes leaving everything behind 🥺Don’t the police and detectives get involved to locate these individuals? I’m sure there’s enough information about the property and owners to start investigations. Happy thanksgiving 🦃
The creek is magnificent flows to protect the house from fire! Kids beds and toys really make anybody sad… Nice video, thank God Luca is safe, is he still okay? Take care but you people goes careless sometimes
I feel like the last bedroom was the horror scene for me. The one bed truly has been stripped of sheets and the blankets look as though there covered in blood. And the ceiling in that room did not look as though it was leaking or anything. It truly hit me hard. I felt it eerily
I have an old vanity set that actually came with a chest of drawers and poster bed to match from my father as wedding gift 34 years ago and it was an antique then. My father was an antique dealer. They are so much stronger made back then!
The leaf is a four leaf clover a sign of good luck 🍀 after seeing all the beds maybe this was a holiday home for the whole family. A very cool explore. That fast train was not that loud. The stoves were awesome, the pots on each one was for water to put humidity back in the room as wood heat drys the skin and sinuses in the winter. 3 singer sewing machines , maybe they sewed for a living, and the father and sons were hunters to feed the large family. Leslie what did you think they did for a living?
Wow, no electric, only oil lamps and candles. Truly a hunters cabin but with all their kids also. Very basic, very sad actually as they probably had so much fun outside. Lovely place and still very possible to renovate. Such a shame the railway line is so close.

Not so sure a hunting lodge, more perhaps a school or church youth holiday facility
That printed coloring of Kristoff from the Frozen movie is a huge clue. The Frozen movie was released in 2013.

Gosh, I am so glad you didnt go into the basement! This was such an amazing place to visit. I would have loved to have stayed there when it was in it's prime!
Horrible basement ! will ruin the house faster. Wonder that atmosphere will ruin the health of these young guys ! Foul air full of bacteria and fungus
Such a sad story, I really wonder why they did abandon this place! At 22:59 minutes in, I was a little creeped out-those stains on the bed is *hopefully* just moisture, but it really looks like someone has been laying there bleeding!
Glad your friend is OK after falling through the floor! But thankfully my feet found some solid ground when I had sunk to about the level of my waist. I was not hurt, but it was a reminder that floors are not always as solid as they look!

What a beautiful home, thanks for sharing.
someone must have died and the house was just left. still im surprised that someone didn't keep it going with all the family involved
Loved this post. Thank you. I love the creek and the 4 leaf clovers. Lucky
Lovely peaceful home. Keep up the great documentaries. 😍
It absolutely blows my mind that people just disappear from their homes leaving everything behind 🥺Don’t the police and detectives get involved to locate these individuals? I’m sure there’s enough information about the property and owners to start investigations.
Happy thanksgiving 🦃
Many people leave home feet first in a box.
I wondered what happened to them also, especially being near the railroad tracks. And the Illuminati poster with the one eye hanging on the wall?
The creek is magnificent flows to protect the house from fire! Kids beds and toys really make anybody sad… Nice video, thank God Luca is safe, is he still okay? Take care but you people goes careless sometimes
Curious explorer, thank you for your positivity and breathing loving light into your adventures! 🦋
Omg that basement is what nightmares are made of😬
I feel like the last bedroom was the horror scene for me.
Amo suas aventuras nessas casas que já foram lares de famílias com muitos momentos felizes! Paraná, Brasil.

That looks scary doesn't it
Que lindo lugar... encantador...😘
Cudowne miejsce. Pozdrawiam 👍❤
Wow, no electric, only oil lamps and candles. Truly a hunters cabin but with all their kids also. Very basic, very sad actually as they probably had so much fun outside. Lovely place and still very possible to renovate. Such a shame the railway line is so close.
Thank you for going to this old 🏠 . They sure had fresh water
Family home perhaps, grandparents passing on. Great video! 🎥
I have never seen those kind of stoves, and I've seen a good bit of them. But those are new to me lol, thanks for another beautiful home
That's a wonderful vacation house. I would like to get away to something like that once in a while.
