We love strange new cameras here at the Flood Light Show, and Canon’s V10 did not disappoint. If you remember the G7X Mk iii from 3 years ago, just imagine all those insides now packed into this little plastic body with a fixed lens of 18mm with an aperture of f2.8. You have a whopping 1 inch sensor in this little tiny cam with mic inputs, USB-C for connectivity, and a mini HDMI port to patch it into whatever you want. You could really make this work for a lot of your video productions. We have been loving it for behind the scenes, shots, and dash cam footage. It does come with some quirks, though, as they always do, let us know what you think about this experimental offering from Canon, are you going to give it a go?

Just arrived yesterday, $349 +tax. So far yours is the best sounding review I heard. Looking at accessories. Just got it to start making videos. I can always get a more expensive camera later.

Hey, Thanks for the video! Needs more doggo!! A cute little guy.
The V10 looks..'ok'.. maybe the insta360 is a bit better (as an action cam) with its size and versatility.
Congrats on the 3k subs. Well deserved.

Thank you Martin!! Really appreciate all your support and checking out all the vids when they drop, love seeing your comments every time 🙏 Will definitely get more Doggo in the next ones, our new FLS mascot haha. The V10 was a fun little camera to run around with but the insta x3 has a lot more tricks up its sleeve. Tough to beat these iPhones also, you really don't need much these days to make great videos and this noise reduction tech is getting nuts. I have a hunch it will just be automatically built into the phone eventually, just click a button for amazing audio anywhere. I give Canon a big pat on the back for this one, they did make a unique little cam. Hope your week is going well and see you at the next one!

@@TheFloodLightShow Hey, no worries.. just try to help you out with the algo.. its hard for the little guys to get any traction.
Yeah, the iPhone is 'good enough' for just about anything..hard to see where something like this fits in. Like you say, got to give them props for trying something new.
BTW - Where did you get that magnetic ball head adapter thing? The ones I can find are all much bigger.
(also check out the Sioti mx20 if you are looking for an exceptional (very strong, small, light, and cheap) ball head.

@@Martin_Edmondson hey there, sorry for the late reply on this, these comment threads are not very well announced when the reply happen. That bullhead came with the MC-Pro , Aputure sells the same bullhead, but no magnet bottom. fortunately you can get something like that here: www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1726221-REG/prolights_pienptwcmagadp_m10_to_1_4_adapter.html/qa I think I searched "magnet thread mount" they had a few. Was nice to attach to have the option to stick it to things, under the microwave, on the desk, etc. Hope that helps and thanks again for all the support Martin, talk to you soon!

Thanks so much Bricks&Mortar! It's a fun little camera for sure but my iPhone 15 has been my go to little cam since September. Still love the design of the canon though, they have a 3d version that looks quite similar to the v10 body in the works. It has been popping up at trade shows recently :). Thanks for watching and the awesome comment!

Additional: Canon V10 requires a specific power adapter for charging which costs up to $150 U.S. @@TheFloodLightShow

I can't wait to get mine for about $350, I think it will make a great little spy
camera, very incognito. Less people that will be freaking out lol. I've seen
one video where the guy was using a Rode mic on the V10 with no problem.

And above of that, you walk with 2 devices

Yeah this tech is really flying and Canon was a little late to the party with this. More like a concept camera 🤷‍♂️ Thanks for watching and the comment 👍

The noise reduction app I was talking about is from Adobe. It's a standalone feature but will probably be baked into premiere eventually. Definitely some cool technology for us video people. You can try it out here: podcast.adobe.com/enhance Thanks for watching and the great comments!

Can the DJI Mic work through the USB-C port?

    • @TheFloodLightShow
      @TheFloodLightShow  11 місяців тому

I could not get any sound through the USB C. Those dji mics are also nice as they let you break up two mics into to left and right signals. The canon has very little sound options, cannot choose stereo, mono, or split :( Good luck and thanks for watching!

What about editing content is this where go pro beats this.

Gopros suck, dont waste your money on them. Also check out those ray ban meta glasses, decent footage and sound from them and really easy to use. Editing the footage isnt hard for any of these options. Thanks for checking out the vid and the comment
