Lovely TO have our Saturday entertainment back. Thanks Dan. One does have to say. CATCHES WIN MATCHES. Hopefully the rust knocked off. Looking forward to. SUNDAY VILLAGE????? Will sign up to the fantasy. All. The best Rob D
'normal' Sunday service has now resumed, i.e. watching Sanderstead with a cup of tea in hand - glorious! Hope that you all have a great season and am looking to get my first outing hopefully next Saturday .. Codger power!
Good Luck in 2024. Great to be able to watch / love it from Aus. Played a couple seasons for Sanderstead back in 1993 & 1994 - brings back some great times / memories.
Craig Fittler!!! Those of us who played with you 30 years ago still talk about what a great couple of years we had when you were with us. Dan Allen here - me, Chris Aeschlimann and Andy Isherwood are meeting up on Friday at Hove (Sussex County ground) and will no doubt reminisce. Keith Haynes, Ned Bridges, Bob Hollands, Ian Witchell, Lance Harris are still very much around, but not many others who you played with. Great to hear from you and that you’ve found us on UA-cam.
Hey Dan say gday to the guys and everyone - was great times. Still appreciate how fortunate I was to be able to have the opportunity and also play with you guys and bonds formed. If you ever need photos or that for the club or anniversary’s let me know. Good luck tomorrow to the lads.
Welcome back from frosty NZ! A fine effort (with 3 or 4 guys missing). Love the 2 new spinners. One thing Dan - 4 other teams I watch show a graphic of the team for that day at the beginning, which is v. helpful. Any chance of that, got the technology? 😀
Have to say that your ground and wicket are looking superb. Only just managed to get our season underway yesterday, slow, damp track and plenty of soft patches on the outfield.
Great to see Uncle Phil ambling in again.Must say the ground looks a picture.Looked like a good track...nearly 500 runs! Looks like the boys need some glue on their hands!
It’s back, I played for Sanderstead 4 XI against Purley Saturday, got battered Qaiser, Jason Moore and Haynes all featured, we had 4 youngsters, one called Tom Grehan I believe who opened and batted 25 overs to muscle us to 100 (only yr 8 or 9) Qaiser took 2 wickets early and another youngster, Jason Moore’s son Finn, took one but they chased it off in no time. Great to hear your voice again
It is my favourite channel to watch club cricket videos. The commentary is so good, as if I know the players personally... Sandeep. Cornish Kohli, Uncle Phil etc.
Dan, good to see the boys back in action; certainly some rust in evidence but I am sure some mid week training sessions will put paid to that. Did you see my follow-up comment on the Surrey V Essex over 60's back in July 2021? Cheers from down under.
Hi Michael - I have dug through the old vids and found your comment and sent a reply. Awful news and fingers crossed. It isn’t easy to sift through all the comments, so if you want to contact me directly or if/when you come to UK please email me: sandersteadcctv@gmail.com 🤞
Excellent work Dan your video and commentary is highly enjoyable, always watch when I can. Also ground looks great, I've taken over mowing one of our grounds and I know how much work it is to get the grass low when its wet! Interesting to watch the evolution of the team over the years and I was curious as to your junior program and have you got any young guns coming through?
Is it Johnson or Joseph, or did I mishear/ read your excellent commentary....either that or I'm over excited by the performance at Northants by mighty Gloucestershire.
Smashing channel, just subscribed. Just one thing that might have been mentioned previously, what would be nice is to see replays of the wickets falling. Just to see the delivery and how it beats the bat etc, Just a thought!
Welcome on board! I’ll try and do a few more - it’s just the constant battle between getting the game uploaded by 10pm on Saturday and the time to make such edits. Early finishes allow more replays. I do a shorter version of each match in the winter and include more slo-mo’s in them.
Great cricket both teams. well played. shame about dropped catches and yes would have made this a real tight game had catches been taken. I'm impressed by the two new spinners - they actually turn that ball and can bat a bit. very nice. good luck next game and again thanks for the awesome highlights.
A lovely game of cricket for the first league match of the season. However, catches win matches. We dropped 4 - if held we had a great chance of winning. Still, lets see what happens next week
Great to have the season started and matches back every week, shame about the turnover of players but that brings new players and juniors through, looking forward to some village filth. Great work as always Dan
I think every club has the same turnover issues - especially London based clubs. We’ve got loads of players who have moved away from work/family reasons, but will likely be back at some stage.
While Sanderstead might not have got the right result, they've definitely competed. Always going to be a big ask to win the game but to come this close with a weaker team shows just how much potential the club has for the season ahead!
Looked to be one bowler short. Can't understand the logic of playing Will as a batsman and not bowling him. Might as well open with the left-arm spinner if you don't have enough seamers.
The two new spinners look decent enough but clearly you were a seamer short today. They got into your bowling a bit too much in the first 15 overs and that probably won them this match.
Probably right - though the early bowling was a bit looser than expected. Holding on to easy catches should have resulted in a 220 chase vs 243. A promising start given we were 4 regulars short!
😂 indeed - and I think important ones. Chasing 220 would have been a different game I reckon. Pleased with the opening performance especially as we had a few unavailable.
@@SandersteadCCTV interested to know Dan, are there winter practice sessions done, if so, is it just the usual where players go along & all bat & bowl or is there fielding done too? Only asking as I feel that fielding is a much ignored crucial part of the game when it comes to practice. After all, no one particularly likes fielding.
Where was my Sanderstead batting implosion - very disappointed. New Spinners look v.good. You need a fire-breathing psycho of an opening pace bowler - although, I guess they get poached by the high divisions pretty quick if they appear organically.;
@@SandersteadCCTV the increased batting discipline was nice to see. I did think a certain senior player was going to implode from all the dropped catches [knowing how high his standards are, but as you noted in commentary...early season...]
We had a draw. Bowled a side out for 120. I walked in at 11 … 2 needed off 1. Ran a bye after missing the ball by a mile outside off 😂😂. Cricket doesn’t get better than that. Great to see the saw mill again in the sun
Was a cracking game to be fair. Played in the right spirit. The new signings for you guys look great. Surprised the young left arm pacer isn’t in the ones
Lovely TO have our Saturday entertainment back. Thanks Dan. One does have to say. CATCHES WIN MATCHES. Hopefully the rust knocked off. Looking forward to. SUNDAY VILLAGE????? Will sign up to the fantasy. All. The best Rob D

Welcome back, great to see the new season. Finally got some good weather too. Good effort, thank you as ever for the brilliant commentary.
Great to see you guys back being following you for overs 3 years from the Dubai. Can’t wait for your Sunday village cricket.
We’ve done 2 Sunday’s this season already - plenty more to come. Thanks for coming back each year!
Lovely to hear your voice again - good luck for the season.
Thanks so much!
Whoo Sanderstead Saturday and I’ve been watching cricket in the sun finally and playing tomorrow. Thanks for the content brilliant as always
Good luck!!
@@SandersteadCCTV Thanks !!
Been looking forward to this, lovely weather too!! Come on Sanders!!!
You and me both!
Great to have you guys back. Always fun to watch. Hope that knocked off all rust and all the best for the next week!
Thanks 👍
Watching your channel for the 3rd consecutive year from Pakistan.
Season started so we will have a good league match to watch on every Sunday.

@@SandersteadCCTV Nice one Dan.
Welcome back Dan. Unfortunately a tough loss away at Hatfield for Aldenham today, 116 all out, chased for 8 down by Hatfield, so we made a game of it
Ouch - there’s always next week
So good to see dev
1 wicket win to start the season! Time to settle in for some Sanderstead to celebrate.
Absolutely!
Looking forward to the new season and hopefully some big results to get you on the promotion hunt. Cheers

Tom looked sharp with the gloves on

Yay! Apart from at least one that I can’t film (22 June)
Great to see SCC back in action... sadly with a lost !! too many butterfingers !!! Lol well still long way to go !!! GO SCC !!!
Thanks Saleh!
There was some good agriculture in some of those shots.....I could hear the moo from Kent 😂
😂
Ah, the sound of leather on willow for the commute to night shifts. A very enjoyable game but catches win matches Dan.
Indeed they do - I had noticed 😂
Did the keeper try and leave an elbow on the batter at 12:52?
Catching practice be hard night that night lol
Practice? What’s that?
Hold those catches and win the game. New spinners look good! Time to get Max in the first XI?

Great stuff - shame about the result. I was there for a few overs... loved it....
Glad you enjoyed it
Will struggle without any quicks this year... Says me following them on UA-cam
Hopefully we get Mikey back soon once the home office have done their admin.
Lacking guns.
Any chance of a replay when a wicket falls or a dropped catch?
It’s a nice idea but it just adds editing time and would mean the uploads would be Sunday not Saturday.
@@SandersteadCCTV I understand the problem. You do a great job as it is.
I think you might struggle this season , really could do with some pace to open the bowling .
Looks and feels like a second team match. I guess Mikey has not signed up😢😢
Hi Mike - Mikey is up for it, we just need Home Office sign off. First time we’ve batted 50 overs in ages and we had 4 regulars unavailable.
Poor fielding both sides. But a glimmer of hope.... the home team cracking 150 has to be good 😊
Lot of new players.
Hi - just the two spinners are new, everyone else has been around a while. Cheers!
Good to have you back. Dissapointed in Harris, thought he was Sanderstead through and through
He’ll be back
Loose bowling at the start and dropped catches doesn't help, but a solid run chase. How does the winning draw work??
This is straight 50:50 - you can get bonus points if you lose for certain wicket/runs milestones. I think we got 4 bowling and 2 batting.
Jawad looks very promising! Where's Ryan Brotherton?
Running marathons and loved up - but he’ll be around at some point
@@SandersteadCCTV he'll be a good addition to the batting line up.. i hope we finally win this season

What team is this? 2s?
No it's their first team.

Keeper in short sleeves... that's criminal 😆
Is young Will injured Dan? Noticed he didn’t roll the arm over?
No - we just had a surfeit of spinners I think
Sanderstead bowling looking a bit light this year
Definitely short of a seamer, you really need three in any team.

😂
An entertaining match, but all those dropped catches in the field came back to haunt Sanderstead unfortunately
Indeed!
Pro tip for Fantasy League - Don't pick Derek Rushfilth.
Pick Stu Ellery.
Haha! Sadly, Sunday cricket isn’t included in The Fantasy league
I'm very disappointed.....I thought Del would have been in the 1st team by now-oh well-----back to my washing mangle .
😂
The decline in the strength of the 1st team looks to be continuing. I take it Mikey is not coming back ?
Admin stuff with Home office - hopefully he is coming back soon. We had 3/4 first teamers not available yesterday.
Catches win matches, chertsey would have been 30 less…..
Indeed…..
No offence but some of these drop catches are awful standards of fielding and the of the overthrows my word 🫣 quite embarrassing
Luckily we’re down in Div 4 where such things happen….
