FYI, the "unplug Xbox, plug back in, resume game" thing is a feature on PC with Windows as well. It's called Hibernate. The way it works is it saves the RAM to your SSD or HDD before shutting off, then you can unplug. Next time you start it the contents are loaded back to RAM and Windows continues where it left off You can also suspend individual games and leave them open when starting another one in Windows. In Resource Manager, Process Explorer etc. You can right click a process and suspend it, at which point it no longer uses up any CPU resources. Someone's even made an app called "universal pause button" so you can just hit a shortcut button and the current process will be suspended. Useful for games with unpausable cutscenes Contrary to popular belief, most games don't crash when you do that. Some games will, yes, but the Xbox doesn't allow suspending in every game either. Some games just aren't compatible doing that, even on the console
Sorry to comment after a year but unplugging doesn't mean hibernate. You can unplug after hibernation but the point is when you have 4 games on qs, you can have power outage and you can still continue after that.

Pretty sure, I could do 4K120hz too on my old build from 2011. With half-life 2 or something? My 970gtx is just getting issues to run newer games at 1080p60hz. A card from 2014. Using FSR or downgrading the resolution fixes my issue. Old hardware can still be interesting, if the expectations are reasonable. While I have a 144hz screen, 72fps is plenty for demanding 3D games.
Yeah he is a bot most of his reasons for the Consoles are wrong or are more cons then pros I switched from PS4 to PC last year and it definitely was the best and better option especially when you save a lot of money overtime on top of all the other benefits you get on PC. quick resume is pretty useful when you lose a match so that that you want to switch to forza to relax a bit than switching back without reconnecting to servers again
I have an Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch and an MSI GF65 Thin laptop. I use my laptop more than my Xbox and Switch despite it lacking 4K capabilities. PC is where it's at in my honest opinion and I can't wait to get my graphics card to complete my rig now that their slowly coming back in stock.
@Unknown Nomad I tried using that HDMI port on my 1440p/165hz monitor but no matter what I do the framerate drops badly into 30 and below fps and that's murder in competitive gaming. I've put the settings to make the external monitor the only source of display but it just won't stabilize the fps for some reason.
@Unknown Nomad Rogue Company, R6 Siege, COD vanguard and a few offline games in Borderlands and Batman Arkham origins. These games run smooth on the main laptop monitor but can't stabilize on an external monitor.

I have undervolted and underclocked(boost to 3600mhz from 4000mhz) my CPU though to keep temps down, and added another 8gb of RAM. It was definitely playable. But I get steady 100+ on 1080p so I obviously play apex at 1080p regularly. And to the other guy, I could run it 60hz on my 4k tv, I have a 2.0 HDMI, yet the PC isn't really powerful enough for good FPS while going 4k res.
@Unknown Nomad I put 32 gb of ram and I always kept the resolution at 1080p/high or medium just to make sure the laptop didn't overheat. I do use a Tecknet cooler to keep temperatures down.
Actually that Activision and Bethsada buy out is a pain in the backside for PC gamers, all those billions but i have to pay close to £100 to buy Toyko Ghostwire, Deathloop and Crash 4, or wait years for them to come to gamepass.
Backwards compatibility was definitely not expected on old consoles. There was ps2 to ps1, and wii to gamecube, and wii u to wii, but thats about it. I wasnt playing my genesis games on my saturn, or my saturn games on my dreamcast, super nintendo on my n64, etc. It was definitely appreciated, but was never really a talking point back in the day, because console games were evolving so quickly, it was seen more as a "nice to have". Back in the day, generational leaps were so big, that we werent really concerned with what we used to play, because of the excitement of massively improved graphics, controls, and mechanics. Remember, we went from snes to ps2 in the same timeframe we went from ps4 to current day.
I actually do play my handhelds instead of my PC quite a bit. I'm sure that will change once I get my Steam Deck, but for now, the handhelds have a convenience that I can't get with my PC right now. That unfortunately is just a reality in my life until my kids move out lol. But yeah I actually have an extensive collection of handhelds from both Nintendo and Sony as well as games. I probably will keep them as well for travel because I doubt I would take my Steam Deck with me when I travel. That has more to do with the fact that I have less to lose in that case if they get stolen or something. So I still see the handhelds as having some value to me. I even mod them and put the games on so I don't lose my cartridges and discs.

I will say, a lot of people don't buy used GPUs because a lot of them flooded the market after the crypto boom. Those cards were running on full blast 24/7 and those prolonged temps shorten the life of the card. Love your content lol just wanted to point that out

The Xbox games that you mentioned our multi platform, are technically multi platform, but you gotta understand who makes the operating system you’re using, along with the application, that a lot of people with PC game pass are going to be using, which are both made by Microsoft, which kind of still makes them exclusive to Microsoft
This is why I love my thrustmaster controller. It has a removable cable and interchangeable modular sticks and dpad. I can set it up as a playstation or xbox style configuration

I always wanted to do an 'anti-streamer' type video where I make fun of all the tropes that typical streamers do. I have a feeling you might feel the same way I do about a lot of streamers. I don't watch streamers because they are absolutely shitty game players in most circumstances. They are constantly looking at their chat trying to appease their every demand missing key parts of the game they are playing and when they're done talking and thanking someone for subbing or donating they're lost and have to ask chat what to do because they weren't paying attention. A lot of them just either rush to or through the main story line missions ignoring any and all side quests and then spend most of the time complaining that there is nothing to do and the game is boring and short. Then you have the ones that can't get past a minor glitch or bug in the game and shit on the game the rest of the time because of that river that was missing some water textures so they "just can't keep playing this buggy mess of a game." Stuff like that. I'm sure you can come up with more things in your style. Maybe that can be a video topic for you later.
Xbox games come to PC the same day as Xbox, or even sooner than Xbox in some cases like Baldurs Gate 3 and Black Myth Wukong. Xbox controllers work great with PCs and you can easily hook it up to a TV and get that same console convenience, not to mention all the advantages of PC like more exclusive and obscure titles, mods, Emulators, etc. There's literally no reason at all to get an Xbox. Regardless of whether you like modern consoles or not you can make arguments for getting a PS5 or switch over a PC but there's absolutely no reason to choose an Xbox over PC.
i can think only one reason, to buy an xbox over pc, and that is to mod it, put a ton of games in it, then resell it for a bit of profit, so now you can buy a slightly better PC. other than that, i won't buy any newer console than my PS3 or PS2... they are perfect. Why get a Nintendo Switch, when you can get a GPD WIN 3, an AYA NEO, Smach Z, or a Steam Deck (which run circles around the Switch, and imitate its portability)? I know that the GPD WIN 3, AYA NEO, and Smach Z (the Windows 10 version), have full PC powers. That means if you buy one of these three machines, you reap the benefits of PC gaming.

I'll definitely agree that the DS Lite was amazing. I loved it because aside from the original DS, it was the only one that could play GBA games.

The only thing I see consoles good for in this day and age is a glorified media player (Xbox and PS mostly.)

Why get a Nintendo Switch, when you can get a GPD WIN 3, an AYA NEO, Smach Z, or a Steam Deck (which run circles around the Switch, and imitate its portability)? I know that the GPD WIN 3, AYA NEO, and Smach Z (the Windows 10 version), have full PC powers. That means if you buy one of these three machines, you reap the benefits of PC gaming.

@@jamesjohnXII ALL the current Nintendo games, other than Super Mario Odyssey, are NOT worth my time. Especially since there aren't any known cheat devices/programs for the Nintendo Switch.

@@starscotten You need cheats to play games these days. I haven't used any cheats since the good old ps2, gamecube, xbox days and I've haven't had too since playing without cheats is a lot more fun IMO.

I'll say this PC doesn't have the greatest BC just try running any game from the early 2000s and you'll spend the whole day googling fixes, patches and workarounds and BC wasn't something that people expected it's something simply that some companies did once in a while while most didn't.
a couple months ago i wanted to play watch dogs 2 with my friends,it turns out all rtx40 cards have problems causing constant flicking image
yeah at least on console you wouldn't suffer from severe bugs and broken visuals as much as some pc games(only assassin's creed syndicate on ps5 has such problem if i recall right)
