What do you mean 'when they don't need to'? Do you mean they should allow those morons to impeach someone for partisan reasons? He needed to be there as he took the oak to not allow rogues to manipulate Congress to achieve their personal gains.

💯💯💯 After a c-section, you can barely make it 10 feet to the bathroom for at least a week. This dude is a #BEAST
True story. I was a lawyer working in Al Green's small court around 2000 - he was a justice of the peace in Houston. He would talk to the entire courtroom of people there for an hour before each docket, which wasn't fun to sit through as a lawyer each time he held court. But you could tell that he actually cared about his job, his constituents, the law, and the process. I got injured in his court parking lot once. I didn't have medical insurance at the time. He called a favor into two doctors who saw me at no cost. Why did he do that? Because he felt bad for me and he had resources and connections I didn't as a young, fresh-out-of-law school lawyer who was new to Houston. He's a good man. I will never forget his kindness.

In BC politics today we also had a 'laugh out loud' moment from our Premiere, a guy named David Eby. He was commenting on a trucking company that had hit 6 over passes in 2 years and how they were going to sue the govt to be allowed to continue to operate in BC. The premiere joked that he hoped they took transit to get to the court room so they wouldn't hit any more overpasses (paraphrasing). That made me legitimately LOL, it is nice to see politicians being 'real people' for a change, talking like you would to some dunce you had to endure... Raskin was awesome too... What an awesome burn, and the severity of it I'm sure was lost on that troll MTG.

@@jessice293 I guess the problem with that is the fragility of the human body, and logistics/organization in general. If you required everyone to be present for every vote, nothing would get done, though it seems like it wouldn't change much right now. It doesn't help that a lot of seniors are elected in (generally more fragile obv.), and that they have at least three jobs as far as I've been able to identify: creating and voting on policy, getting reelected, and getting enough funding to win said election. Not only does those three jobs all take time, they can at times work directly against each other. :)

I live in Texas and am so proud of both. We needed a different image of politicians from Texas....intelligent, well spoken, willing to make an unpopular, but correct stand to help someone besides themselves or their buddies. (There are exceptions)

Raskin is fantastic. I love that he dug the needle in about in-DICK-ment. Her mispronunciation proves that she DOES NOT READ. I'm sure she knows what an "inDITEment" is from hearing it said, but she's clearly NEVER read it on the page before and didn't have a clue what inDICKment was. I understand very well how that goes, and if English were not her first language I would be sympathetic. But someone who DOES NOT READ has zero business working for our government in any way, most particularly not in Congress, a place where reading is part of the job. Not sure if this counts as a correction but as a baker I am going to nitpick the cake joke: angel cake (by which I assume you mean angel food cake) is a sponge cake whose only leavening power (i.e. rise) comes from stiffly beaten egg whites (as opposed to most modern cakes, which have chemical leavening agents like baking powder and/or baking soda to help them rise). Because of this, angel cake is baked in a special tall pan with a tube in the center that leaves a hole in the middle of the cake; the cake gets a better rise if the batter can cling to both the outside wall of the pan and the inside wall formed by the tube. Its unique structure also means that it isn’t great for making a tiered cake (because of the hole), nor does it handle heavy frosting well (because the egg white leavening makes for a more fragile cake crumb than one made with chemical leavening). The cake shown in the graphic is 1) tiered, 2) covered in heavy frosting decoration, and 3) clearly doesn’t have a hole in the center, so I’m gonna go ahead and say that isn’t angel cake.
One reason I like Seth, and think he's the best late night host, by far, is that he is so down to earth and humble. The rapport he has with his co-workers AND his audience is so admirable and unmatched by any other.
Funny AND intelligent discourse is gold. Seth is #1.
