Did They Fall Apart? - UTV Overland Trailer Shakedown of 3 Unique Designs
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- After months of planning and work, we put our UTV Overland trailers to the test on a 100 mile run to the Grand Canyon. We towed them on rough roads, up hills, and tested our gear and set-up. Did we knock it out of the park or is it time to go back to the drawing board? Watch the video to find out!

All the trailers are bomb. More importantly an awesome trip your sons will remember.
Definitely would love to see more over landing side x side camping vids
Dude!!! Garrets lighting and sink in his kitchen are freaking amazing!!!!
Your video quality is amazing!! Im blown away by how compact and functional the trailers are!!! 👏👏👏
Realizing this is a old video, but love the camp trailers, got me thinking hard but no where we can really use one around here, but I’m still thinking on it hard😂
Congrats on all three builds! They all look awesome. I’d also like to see a video on how each of you transport the trailer with the SxS. Love the channel, keep up the good work.
Freekin' SWEET! I am going to use ideas from all three. Time to get building, if I am not stuck again somewhere. Thanks for the inspiration.
As they said in the comments I'm so jealous, loved the video , it's great to see family's bonding in times like this , beautiful places guys , now the true ? , how they hold up, putting to the test lol
We hauled a trailer 600 miles with our 2 seater Talon R. Was an awesome anniversary in central Oregon
Sounds awesome!
Great job on trailers. Awesome group dads and sons bad Ass
Very impressive & they all have great features. I've been looking forward to this video and you guys killed it! Love the channel and love all three of your unique overland trailers. Among the three trailers it looks like y'all have everything covered that you could possibly want out there.
Awesome trailers my son and I are just getting into the UTV exploring and we’re pretty excited. Subscribed to the channel hopefully we’ll make it out y’all’s way one day.
Way to go... this was an awesome watch... I’m so jealous!
OUTSTANDING! sirs.
All three of these little trailers are awesome, I have a small trailer frame the plan is to build something like this. I'm inspired to get working on mine now. Cool trailers guys 👍🏼👍🏼
Another great video. Love watching the camaraderie when the three of you get together for videos. Now with the next generation of Deranged. Had an aunt marry into the Bundy family many moons ago and spent lots of time in in the Mt. Trumbull area. I'll ask around and see if they have a history of the building. Keep the good videos coming.
Awesome job guys - very interesting to see how the plans came together to make very unique and effective camping rigs!
I like all three trailers! They have everything you need for a weekend camp out, I had a micro trailer with a rooftop tent on it a few years ago, the tent was way to high off the ground for my liking so I sold it, (not easy to get in and out of one when you are in your 60's) but yeah I like them, I like the lowest trailer with the roof top tent on it, would be easier to get in and out of it. Dang makes me want to build one to tow behind my Kawasaki!
Awesome guys! Love this series and how all the trailers turned out. Living out there would be awesome! I'd trade ticks, mosquitoes, and humidity for dust and wind if it meant access to so many beautiful places to ride right out your back door! Definitely on my short list of riding areas to visit!
Thanks for watching!
Always fascinated by old structures/houses like that! If there was only a way to find out the history...
Exactly!
I’m jumping around , and ya see I watched vid of you making trailer ?? Don’t know why took me so long to hit that button , but ya better late than never . I’m big Honda fan . Don’t have talon but I have a foreman and pioneer
All 3 trailers are awesome! but sorry, Dave's still takes the cake! looks like you guys had a blast.
He’s got a great rig! I’ll keep mine though. 😜 -Joe
Be fun to ride on those trails.
Great video fellas I absolutely love all the great ideas keep up the great work and thanks so much for taking the time to share with all of us.👍👍
Great job on all the trailers guys! I really love seeing that each of you can bring your son on a great adventure. All of them and you will remember this experience for ever. 👍👍😎
Thanks 👍!!
Nice trip all the trailers performed great.
Wow awesome trailers. love the tent on top.
great job, guys! now i just have to talk the wife into overlanding with our UTVs. oh, & thanks, joe for the recommendation on the particle separator, which has just been shipped to me. i let them know that you sent me. love this channel.
You all hit it out the park! Sick rigs. Loving the series.
Kool trailers, thinking of doing one myself for sleeping in. I am thinking aluminum to keep it light.
Great option but just expensive.
That's the way to go...
Greetz from germany
that looks like a lot of fun
Just awesome guys. So cool to get the boys out with you when you do this. As for the trailers, I'm sticking with my original vote for Garrett's. With the extra adds since the original versions, I think he would win if there was another vote. The sink, water tank w/pump, full time solar charging, mounted outdoor light and the slide out stove put it over the top.
Thanks, I’m thinking the same thing 👍 😀 -Garrett
I would like to say all of you did amazing . It's good to see all the different Personalization paid off they all had their benefits. Any time outdoors With family and friends Is a better than Any day in the office. Can't wait for the Next aventures with the Overland trailers
Thanks and you’re exactly correct we need to do this more! 👍
Oh ya I dig the shirt dave🤙🤙
Whatever the shirt sucks 😂 -Garrett
Nice job 👍
I want to build one, and I appreciate the good ideas 👍
Really liked this content. Great job on the trailers!!! Was that Honeymoon to AZ?
Love them
Thanks for watching 👍
Good job all the way around 👏👍
Killee job guys! They all came out great super cool definitely something I would love to do in the future. I like em all but Dave's is pretty dope.
Entertaining videos and have given me a few do and fonts when I build mine!! But those fenders on that red trailer are absolutely re-fu&$ing-diculous!🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
😂😂
What kind of ATVs y'all have looked pretty cool
At the time a Honda Talon, CanAm XCR and a Kawasaki KRX. -Garrett
Congrats to all of you. You killed it with your engineering. I am curious how the trailer weights will take a toll on belt life?
Overtime not sure, but for this trip they seemed unharmed. 👍
Great video 👏 Trade off ? Trailers are very rough, like towing a ball and chain in real offroad conditions. The extra weight limits your off-road ability. Not ideal... You have to choose between base camp and cross country. If you prefer base camp, you have many options like toyhauler, etc. Those particular UTV won't hold up to towing. Cross Country, think backpacking gear and maybe cabins / Hotels along the way. You will need fuel every day if driving any distance. Maybe that stop can provide 1 good meal vs packing it. I've been there... did you go to ride / relax or. ? There isn't a big demand for off-road trailers in the USA. Buy a 4 seater like the new SPEED UTV EL JEFE coming in 2023 an turn it into a expedition UTV. It has the frame and components to handle it better than any other UTV.
Question guys, how do you all transport both SXS and the trailers?
Great idea for videos, love it!👍
I rented a 20’ trailer. I’ll likely sell my 14’ and buy a 20 footer. I’m towing it behind my SUV without the Talon this weekend. -Joe
I have a 2 seater Talon, and I've often wondered, how did your Talon do at pulling a 1000 pound trailer on the trails? Keep it in high or low mostly?
Towed in low mostly. There were some long groomed dirt roads where I put it into high though. Towed great. -Joe
They all look fantastic! For the guys that have gas/water cans on the front of the trailer - any issues with kicking up sharp rocks that puncture the cans?
I had serval rocks on my trailer and not one issue, it didn’t even dent my cans at all. 👍 -Garrett
Cool video guys!!!
1 question...
Why's Joe the only 1 with 4 seater? The other guys have full family too, why 2 seaters??🤔
Dave had a Defender and I had a Teryx4 while having these machines. We both sold those and plan of getting something in a four seater soon.
Looks like the back way from Fredonia
You can go that way, but we went through the Arizona strip side out of Southern Utah.
@@DerangedOffRoad power lines in the background gave you away.
At 3:00 I could not understand what you said about clutch weights & tune. Can you please clarify?
I’m running aftermarket weights and a tune on the KRX. It seemed to work extremely well pulling the trailer with that setup I had. -Garrett
planning on building one of these for my 2012 xp900. Has there been any problem pulling these? Not sure how big I want to go and how much weight I shouldn't exceed. If anyone has any info on this please lmk. TIA !
Built my trailer from total scratch. I have horrible vids.
What camera are you useing?
All GoPro 7’s
@@DerangedOffRoad thank you! Good quality
We could upgrade but they have work well. 👍
@@DerangedOffRoad ya no need to!
"What's going on guys"
Just on the hunt for a killer propane salesman
Sound inconsistent

I think you guys a Awesome job. I liked the 2ed place. But that is just me.
The second one is the best! -Garrett
