Although the Ignika has the silhouette of a figure in its face, at the right angles, the legs take on a quality that look to be like a beard, almost like classical greek gods would have, which adds a whole new level to it. In the story, it even took life as much as it could bring life, just like one of the gods of myth and legends. There's also a look of wisdom that can come with the right style of facial hair, and although Toa Ignika is young, he appears to look older and wiser with the mask. There's a certain regality the Ignika possesses in its aesthetics that would command respect, and then it also just so happens to be a legendary mask of power.
Yeah, I'd agree, I love that there is that figure, while I was never into Bionicle and I wasn't even born then, but it's so sick, it is the spirit of Mata Nui? I think that is what I heard whenever I heard that
@@drowned2204the 2008 version is actually a body the mask made for itself after matoro sacrificed himself to use the ignika to revive mata nui back in 2007.
What your thinking of was what haooened in 2009 version which is a body the mask made for mata nui who was trapped in the mask and blasted into desert planet at the end of the 2008 story
The Ignika used as hip armor feels like heresy, but the effect was nice!
Additionally, the gut punch of the piece named "Shoulder Armor Matoro Mahri" being used on Toa Ignika. 10/10
good to see a vido on the toa ignika!
also RIP those 2008 joints
Another great video. I love when you dip into older creations, like fsnorglepuff's design here. I remember seeing that one on Brickshelf back in the day and being inspired to build and modify parts. I also love how you acknowledge those brittle connectors. I'm trying to restore my copy currently and finding those parts undamaged is impossible!
Oh good glad someone else has fond memories of seeing MuffinToa's MOCs back in the day, glad it brought you joy to see it again now :)
i love the sets that kinda represent the whole series
like ignika shows the heros parts while icarax shows the villain side
same with hydraxon and nocturn
That mask is indeed has some pull to it, I wasn't really keen on getting something from the glatorian wave, but after seeing Mata Nui with the Ignika there, well, I'm currently hunting for a one that's priced reasonable for a mortal 😃
Pretty sure the Ignika revamp has a 3-D printed or resin cast replica of the silver Mask Of Life. It has a rough texture to it that the original mask doesn't have. Would make sense to print the damaged version instead of tearing up a new one.
I was wondering if anyone else noticed it.
I'm also pretty sure on like Shapeways or something you can get a printed damaged version of the Ignika
I quite like the dragon MOC's face.
5:57 i dunno. The texture of the piece seems 3d printed
The world would be a better place if even a limited version of the toa ignika set came out with a golden ignika.
And no, I'm not going to stop ranting about pearl gold ignika prices and the situation behind them because they're still _absurd._
5:14 I just noticed that his mask has a little indent of a person in it.
Amazing grace fir the broken sockets got a laugh out of me.
I have the set, incredible build
Though I won't be taking it a part because, well, it's incredible!
Silver Blade is 100% inspired by Guyver, I'm sure of it haha
1:37 Socket redesign in a nutshell. Biggest mistake Lego ever made.
"Abdomen" < "Bug Butt"
That first moc is just a silver Guyver
Im going to be 26 next month and decided I'll buy a bunch of bionicles because past me decided to listen to his parents and throw old toys that I stopped playing with.
Just yesterday I placed an order to Ignika, never had him before.

Ben, I was watching your last video, and there's a Tower of Toa (8758) being sold for 27 Euros, and I wanted to ask if the pieces there are good for building backgrounds and stuff, since from what I can see, there are a lot of structural pieces in there, like 2x2 4 tall bricks (18 of them if Bricklink is correct) and such, and that would help me out, I have been thinking to use my system pieces for building structure parts for my CCBS MOCs; I think overall, I do like it, but that is a pretty big factor in my decision to get it (probably will do so anyway, there are so many good pieces in there, but just wanted to ask about that, you for sure know better, thanks for the help, been loving all the latest videos, keep it up ❤ (Also I have that blaster and it. is. SICK.))
It's got decent parts for that sort of thing, I'd say it's worth grabbing it for that purpose. But you'll likely need other misc pieces too, the pick a brick wall at the LEGO store could help with that, or getting assorted pieces from Bricklink
Perfect
