Midland Railway Butterley Victorian Train Event 28-08-2023

The Victorian Train Event held at the Midland Railway, Butterley, Derbyshire, over the bank holiday weekend, 26th to 28th August 2023.
Hawthorn Leslie 0-4-0 saddle tank 2859 (Keighley Gasworks No. 2) built in 1911 and visiting from the Tanfield Railway in County Durham, is seen working the vintage train, comprising of Midland Railway Royal saloon 1910 built in 1912, six wheeled party/picnic saloon 1260 built in 1890 and brake third 253 built in 1884, four wheeled third 78 built in 1866, six wheeled Lancashire, Derbyshire & East Coast Railway third 26 built in 1896, and London, Midland & Scottish Railway designed horsebox M42608 built in 1948.
Working the rather more modern British Railways Mark 1 set at the event was 1959 built BR class 44 diesel D4 'Great Gable'.

Thanks Jake. Yes. I watched your video (very good too!) and noticed myself filming from the first diesel departure from Butterley as you were filming from outside of the old shed building on the approach to Swanwick Junction.

@@JakeBSteam Yes. That was me. Last shot of the day, as the vintage train left Butterley on its last trip of the day. You're also stood by the fence filming the diesel departing at 4:30.
