Big salute to Jota, a customer team that is going to challenge for victories. And about Manthey? Pulling off a Bathurst and WEC double.
BoP favored Peugeot more than any other make. Lightest and had the most HP.
Just showed how miserable their cars are. But they did make the full use out of it this time
I watch this race because a lot ex-F1 driver in here, and it's better than watch Bahrain GP F1 itself.
In fact Nyck De Vries Toyota driving was great rather than in AlphaTauri at that time
Mick Schumacher got a slip, but still maintain the car with his Alpine.
De Vries was already very fast in LMP2 so no wonder he is quick from get go in Hypercar
@@michawozniak5492Yeah, even the Toyota get a lot of BOP, he still great in Qualifying.
I think it's solid 8 out of 10 for his race
You should watch for racing instead of drivers. There are top drivers who didn't raced in F1 exist in here like Kevin Estre. Once you fell in to WEC and IMSA, you won't watch F1 I can guarantee.
@@alialibeyoglu7532 I am...
It's fun to see battle Aston Martin with BMW for GT3 and Ferrari fights for Hyper Car
Great recap.
Elation for Porsche, Gutted for Peugeot, Cadillac looking strong (and not just after Daytona), Toyota with a box load of questions, and Ferrari just being, well, Ferrari.
The newcomers show what they initially have, but it's still early. Expect more as this season goes on.
And GT3 looks to be a great series, it'll be fun to see who wins out, and the old favorite takes the first race.
So, here's to a great racing season in WEC. Enjoy the show, folks...
3:11 I don't get that for Porsche, that was literally the most nerfed car by BoP compared to the 8h Bahrain in 2023 😅😅
BoP was cruel with Ferrari and Toyota. I am praying for this to change a bit
And Hopefully more weight for Porsche in the next races
@@user-swvn3ti2d Honestly i Think the weight penalty should be reduced for the teams who received it
BoP is impossible to do do without pissing someone off but without it LMP2 would be the top category right now. There is no easy solution sadly.
Yea I agree, but it was ridiculous to see the gap between all of the manufacturers. Even in practice the Porsches looked unbeatable on their pace. They just screwed over so many manufacturers.
And with lambo
Another thing to point out, is the No.83 Yellow Ferrari (AF Corse) beats the factory team!!
Such great reviews. Thanks man.
You rock.
Thank you so much!
All I see online about WEC is BoP, BoP, BoP, holy crap. It’s a factor yes, but without it we’d have extremely boring domination and like 2 teams. Engineering and development and driving and strategy still makes a big difference. I like close racing. It was just about 10 hours with safety cars and was extremely close until the end. That ain’t bad.
BOP BOP BOP because its weirdos like you who defend DTS which is killing F1.
We are not gonna stop talking about BOP until they remove this from the sport before WEC dies out.
It will likely get worse as the WEC keeps getting more popular. You just have to ignore those people. The race at Qatar was very entertaining which is ultimately all that matters, and I don't imagine Porsche dominating the season either.
BoP made way better than last year. People comes from the F1 is the problem. Their toxicty and ignorance about close racing makes this place worse every day. I hope they won't discover IMSA.
Nice video. This race was fun to watch. Keep up the good work.
Thanks!!
Thanks for a great race recap
Thank you!
Imo with so many 963 Lmdh on the grid and also lmdh replacing lmp2 theres no need for BoP...The Lmdh also have the additional benefit of racing in IMSA.
A power unit balance should be more than enough slapping weight penalties is overkill.
It is a necessary evil in order to bring more and keep the manufacturers in.
Because all the cars look different and produce their power, drag, downforce and handling capabilities in different ways, there needs to be some kind of BOP, otherwise everybody would make exactly the same car and we'd end up with LMP1 again, then almost everyone would drop out because it gets boring seeing 20 cars that look exactly the same. LMH cars are also eligible to race in IMSA as part of the convergence of the ACO and IMSA rules, in fact I believe the Valkyrie will race in both series in 2025, and that's classed as an LMH
LMDh doesn't replace LMP2. And they don't have the advantage of racing in IMSA either, you're inventing stuff. Stop yapping.
@@falinestixiaolong9691 lmp2 was phase out in wec because alot of teams crossed over to lmdh... Only at le mans will the lmp2 race.
As for lmdh advantage teams racing in imsa can gather additional data for their future evo cars and it aids them with quicker understanding of their concepts as compared to those who race strictly in the wec.
@@slevingaius Again, no and no. Your first point makes no sense, LMDh is a part of the overall hypercar program and neither replaced LMP2 as they both coexisted for last season. That some former LMP2 teams operate the new LMDh entries is just a coincidence.
LMDh doesn't have the exclusivity of racing in IMSA, LMH can as well they just decided not to. It's therefore not an advantage per se, so stop yapping about that.
Nice. Any chance of a bathurst review?
Thanks FJ, looks like BOP will play a big part in results this season. As a consequence I expect the Porsches will be off the pace in Imola.
I'm dying to see the next Peugeot.. let's go 🇫🇷. But I'm still cheering for Porsche team Jota, and LMGT3 MCLAREN.
If Isotta Frascini keeps going on that path forever then I would like to see Honda or another Hypercar by a proper and big manifacturer.
3:59 👍🇨🇭
I can see why you got him mixed up. Müller is the most common last name in Germany and other than driving in formula e, he is known for mostly nothing lol.
It was clear that the BoP swung in Porsche’s favour because even at some points of the race, the 5 cars were in the top 10 and 3 in the top 5. Let’s hope by the time we arrive to Le Mans all the cars have similar performance.
I expect BOP be different for imola and remember Toyota get ridiculous buff Bop last year fuji and Bahrain also
It's what the ACO and the FiA think it's the best to minimise the gap based on the data they were given. Porsche just managed to deliver a good package for the race.
@@mrjdmtunerboy.1463it's not the case of buff or not. It's a matter of them who managed to give a good set-up and package for the race
@@scuckplexity well next Imola Bop will be different mix interest on that
It didn't tho. Porsche gets 2 kg weight increase and 9kw power reduction from Bahrain. Ferrari get 2 kg weight increase only. Those 2 fought in Bahrain head to head until the end. Porsche just has better package for Qatar.
Was the BOP applied too extreme this time around?
Nope. Not at all. Toyota has the best overall in qualifying. Ferrari had a less punishment than Porsche from Bahrain. Peugeot and BMW effected a lot. One with good way another is bad.
I feel like Ferrari had pace but they had a plethora of penalties. The customer Ferrari was super quick in their debut and I strongly believe the factory Ferraris ruined their own race. As for Toyota, I’m conflicted because they were able to pull out a 1:39 lap in qualifying with De Vries in the car which tells me that they had more pace than they were showing. I do think they need to reduce the weight but I am not sure everyone was showing their full hand. I think teams may be trying to get a better BoP for LeMans.
Well Toyota were good on quali pace but horrible on race pace. I think that in quali they obtained that time just by eating alive their tires considering the weight of the car...
For Ferrari was just an unfortunate race, the pace wasn't there for the win but definitely for a top5, maaaaaybe a p3
no 8 toyota admitted that the tires they used in qualifying were shot and didnt used them on the race, no info if the no 7 suffered the same
This race was so good but I'm so gutted for Peugeot....
Penske Porsche taking it to Ferrari and the W.E.C. !!!
Ferrari will strikes back in Imola 🇮🇹🇮🇹
i really hope, they have one of the best cars on the field, their team as well
BOP might disagree...
How did Toyota qualify second if they were so heavily BOP’d ??
Peugot lol
I hate this track. It’s a good motorcycle and motogp track but with sports cars and formula cars I won’t be surprised if somebody passes out behind the wheel because of the sustained G forces of all the long fast high commitment corners
Well, at least Rossi BMW could hold position in that position for a long endurance
Remove the BoP
And no one's will be joining
@@scuckplexity Let them leave. Not worth having if they don't want a proper race.
bop were all over the place, they put to much favoritsm for porshe, they dominated the race, only one peugeot could have some similar pace
the comments basically
"BoP bad unless my team wins"
Fr, 💀
How about... BOP is manipulated for the "show"
@@DanzaF1 then surely the manufactures were doing the show in Daytona too right? what a nonsense
@@DanzaF1the whole HyperCar class is designed around the BoP. Otherwise we would have gotten a very epic battle of Toyota battling up against a goated rebellion
I simply can't understand this BOP, Porsche led all the sessions in the preview and almost all free practices and yet nothing was done to try slow them down.
They just got the set-up and delivered a strong package. No different to what Toyota has been doing after Le Mans
You really think BOP can be changed mid-way during the event? Lmao what are you on about.
Porsche has only win with BoP
this can be applied with toyota, or even ferrari with their le mans win last year
i understand BoP is a factor here, but we are forgetting that these teams (yes, even peugeot) had a great strategy as well
Toyota fucked up their race at the start by dropping down in 7th at the start of the race, while the n8 did Poorly in qualy. Ferrari also fucked up while getting a 1 min penalty for a stupid error, and the 51 got unlucky
Yeah 👌🏽
@@Rshoot_ The 2 Penske Porsche has also must get Penalties for collisions
This can be applied with literally any other team
BoP 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾
It's called canadause. 🎉🎉🎉
