Doe anyone else love the different livery on the modificata
It's very nice, but nothing will ever beat the red livery of the race version. It's visual perfection that car is, and especially the 51 bcos of the Le Mans win.
@@tajjohal2841I personally disagree. The design template of the modificata is simpler and more elegant than the regular 499p. If the actual race car had the same design I think it would look much better. (Obviously in Rosso corsa)
porsche and Ferrai are at it again with customer cars.
The rivalry continues.
@@chefboyardee2497he’s right, Porsche doesn’t sell the 963 to regular customers, only WEC/IMSA teams can buy it
I love it. My favourite era of Sports Cars was the late 1990s GT1. When I watched LeMans last year, I felt this was the closest to that era we have had since. I think this is partly due to the rules discussed in this video. Aesthetically, this is the best a grid has looked in a long long time, if ever.
Late 1990s GT1 was mostly Mercedes-Mercedes-Mercedes and most of those were shown in highlights
I like the Modificata, but it pains me that we don’t see this car racing in IMSA
Not yet, AC Course is willing to run a Ferrari in GTP, it's just money and sponsorship they need
@@Lego_Huracan_SuperTrofeo Pretty sure LMH cars dont qualify to be run in IMSA, who only allow LMDH cars (no 4wd hybrid, and a class regulated trans/hybrid drive)
@@theovanbooma8508 that isn't true, LMH cars *can* run in IMSA as long as the the Manufacturer produces more than 2,500 road cars. That was why Glickenhaus couldn't enter, they didn't produce enough road cars to meet the rules.
@@Lego_Huracan_SuperTrofeo Not ever, the Modificata is like the Valkyrie AMR Pro, it's a track car based on a race car. It will not qualify to race.
@@F1ll1nTh3Blanks He wasn't taking about that car specifically he was taking about the 599P in general isn't racing in IMSA.
Track day cars for very rich people. As long as selling cars like that keeps endurance racing more accessible to ordinary working class fans than formula one, I'm ok with it.
5 mil for this
I think it's definitely worthy
Great video and good job again ! Thank you and forza Ferrari 😀
Interesting video. Thank you Laguna seca and the author.
This type of proposition is far more interesting to private owners than a sort of limited edition "GTO", "Daytona" or other special made for the garden party attendees / "custodians" / tax dodging billionnaires.
Firstly, it can be raced professionally by amateurs.
Secondly, the car is upto scratch in that it has won a race outright (unlike some "race winners" who just have class wins: let's mention no names).
Thirdly, hopefully Ferrari will ONLY sell to bona fide racers rather than those I have taken aim at above. Cars are for driving, not speculating.
Ferrari is going in the right direction on this and the 299.
I love how the Hypercar regulation took us back to the good old days of LMGT1. Reminded me of that beautiful Mclaren F1 GTR, Mercedes Benz CLK GTR, Porsche 911 GT1, Toyota GT One, and many more that made into road car.
This is very interesting. The cars look nice in different livery.
Another great video! Glad to be apart of it 😎
Thanks Reece! Big thank you again for supplying some of the footage here 👊
4:42 ayy, it me (blue hat in the back). those 499P Ms were awesome to see in person, the guy in the red 25 was flying (at one point literally). I’m hoping to go to COTA to see the regular 499Ps this year as well.
Hey!! That’s awesome you were there. Totally agree with you, super cool experience and that 25 Ferrari was indeed flying! Hope you had a great time, and maybe I’ll see you at the track one of these days!
Put it simply, its the baseline WEC car (no BoP), without the regulations limiting when you can deploy the electric motor...
The customer cars gonna get crazy
Kind of ironic choice of photo @ 2:08 because those cars are from the season KERS was banned, before they brought it back w/ the addition of DRS for 2011.
4:12 Remember that originaly... the LMH rules said that all manufacture who compite in the WEC have to make a road version of theirs cars. Thats why Aston Martin did the Valkyrie, and only Toyota was the only one to run a Hypercar in its inagural season... beside the privateer Glickenhouse. Ferrari sign those rules aswell, but after the F1 put the cost cap, and then the WEC diluted those rules, to allow others (mainly Peugeot) to enter the championship.
Saddly the GR Hypercar from Toyota had an accident in Fuji (if i am not wrong) and they scrapped that car cuz, there was no need or presure to build it or sell it.
This is very interesting, as it could set a precedent for Ferrari providing 499Ps to teams other than AF Corse. Maybe the return of the MOMO-Risi Ferrari isn't too far fetched now!
That event was crazy, I was stoked to see those things on the track. I found out after that the black one was speculated to be Lewis Hamilton's, as a gift for moving to Ferrari, hense the "44".
The Glickenhaus is also planning / already has an road car version the SCG007s with like 25 cars
The Vanwall also was planning the wich was wingless for some reason
With the push to pass system mentioned in the video, could there be a racing series like Ferrari challenge in the future and that utilizes the modificata?
It’s possible. It would be interesting if that were to happen for sure, and I would like to see it
@FormulaJonah can you review in the future about rb17 which is about to revealed on goodwood festival and if the rb17 participating in wec and le mans is rb17 a lmh or lmdh?
If the RB17 were to race in hypercar it would be an LMH, since it doesn't use one of the four LMDh chassis
But it's not currently planned to become a le mans hypercar, so that won't happen
Great idea Camp! The RedBull RB17 has definitely peeked my interest, and I would love to do a video on it one day!
Are there plans by Ferrari to set any hotlaps, for example on the Nürburgring Nordschleife?
I dont think hypercars can break the lmp1 record since hypercars are very slow, unless they make the unrestricted version of it.
Hamilton hasn’t even joined the team yet and he’s already got his own signature Ferrari 😂
Obviously, the owner of the #44 499P Modificata is their ugh... newest F1 driver for 2025 (Not Sainz).
I have to say, I find the LMdH rule about no road cars a little odd. How are they going to stop a private business doing what they want? Would they limit participation in IMSA/FIA events off the back of it?
They also won Le Man's 2024. Its not pricey for a track only race car
0:40
Black with no 44. I wonder if this is Lewis' model?
Imma be honest we need this car in fh5 or fh6
I remember that Toyota at 90s had the GT One "road version" which was never really functional. It was like an 499 Modificata at that time. The F1 and disaster at Le Mans plus change of regulation between the GT1 and LMGTP standards made any rich guy to not have the chance of have one Le Mans prototypes at that time yet.
"Cash or check?" Professional drivers.
Wish it was road legal !!
5 mln? pfff next yeah will take for me and my friends and family!
Why did I think it was a Ferrari 499P LMdH for IMSA
@@rahkinrah1963
-compete for a championship in two different series at once (winning 2 championships in one year = huge marketing victory)
-advertise your brand in a new market (360 million people in america)
-like 10 more races per year we'd see this car, aka lots more advertising
Why not?
Oh how I wish Ferrari went full BONKERS with it just like Porsche did with 919 Hybrid
We need this thing on the nordschleife asap
good christ its a beautiful car
So you're telling me we can buy two and run a customer ferrari team in IMSA? Following all the bops and everything.
@@R4M_Tommy it is 95% of the way there. Just have to remove the front wheel drive electric motor. Ezpz
It’s more for customer use for track day events. It would more likely be a the same Ferrari 499P that competes in WEC that would be in IMSA
How many Ferrari orders do you have to make to qualify for this 😂
Another great example of how the disparity in income is way out of hand. Some percentage of billionaire, deca-millionaire pay zero in taxes. Part of the reason they can afford to by this sort of hyper-expensive toy. This country needs to tax the wealthy appropriately. Close loopholes for the rich. Redistribute wealth so that we move away from the Plutocracy we currently are.
@@lovelehstuff Obviously you do not understand the huge negative impact of wealth capture on a political system. You come across as an economics illiterate. Yes, guys like you, simpletons are a pox on the nation.
So it's just a track car for rich people? Is it for IMSA racing by a private team?
Just a track toy for rich people, like other cars like for example Ferrari FXXK , Pagani Zonda R and others
It’s a ‘track toy’ for rich people who’ll keep it locked away as investments, then when they die, their offspring’s will throw it at RM for you all to watch via livestream whilst some rich sods run a bidding battle
5 mill safe to say I will never own one
Ye but it's ModificaTa, not ModificaDa 😆
I wonder who that 44 car is for......
É para a collection 44. Uma coleção baseada nos Estados Unidos, onde o proprietário ama correr. Não é para o Lewis Hamilton, como muitos pensam.
44
Interesting
Hi
U cant own it. Ferrari owns it and let u drive it at their events for 5 mil.
They also like to refer to as trackday car instead of customer car.
Most diffrences are just setup.
Like there is no latency for the hybrid to kick unlike the Race car
And offcourse the Pirelli tires especially made for it
