I used misty accidentally on a card that didn't need it got 5 heads. Then the next four times I used misty I flipped tails every single time all cards that needed energy. It's clearly rigged against us yes you get that lucky 1/13 chance of getting a energy. Absolutely ruins the game
It's just a matter of statistics. For the carousel, all gacha games work like that - as long as they release the rate on each card, which they did - it is predetermined from when you spend your in-game currency. Regarding coin flips, the game is REQUIRED to do it randomly - players just have a negativity bias. Truth is, most of the time, Misty will give 1 energy, cause that is just basic probability. And same goes for wonder picks. Most people don't register enough wonder picks to even create appropriate datasets, and statistics wise of course it would seem to be against you. Not protecting the big game companies, but just stating the facts - unless it is datamined and confirmed, this video is just baseless.
While it's certainly possible for me to have gotten heads on the first flip only a few times out of a few dozen Misty usages, it's very unlikely if it's truly 50/50. I don't see how that's a negativity bias.
@Graestra oh I mean a lot of times you get one head but still dismissed it, even though one head is as likely as no heads. As you get more heads you are becoming increasingly lucky, but over 2 and it also usually get dismissed when you recall your luck with Misty.
i feel like they should guarantee a 2star or higher per single pack, and definitely at least a 4star or higher per multi/10 pack. actually give some incentive to save up, other than just saving time
Exactly. Like what a waste of time pulling just commons for the last three packs in which you've been waiting forever for. But as shady as Pokemon is, that's how they keep you playing.. well, force you into needing to pay. But even after you pay, it doesn't guarantee anything so you're just running more chances by paying that's all.
I don't remember buying a real booster pack and getting mad i didn't get a rare every 10 packs I bought.. why should this be any different? There's very strict laws around these types of games in EU countries so if the games allowed there, it's not rigged..
It’s rigged. As soon as my premium ran out, I started getting Giovanni and max evos EVERY SINGLE first hand, no professors research. Statistically, with 2 of every card, I should see every card in my initial hand every other game. However, I ALWAYS get Giovanni, x speed, ONE basic, Sabrina, and third stage evos. This didn’t happen over dozens of games when I was on the premium trial, but now that it’s over it happens all the time. It also happens against Japanese players more. The initial hand rigging results in the player in facing always having much more of their cards than me and ultimately winning. The coin tosses changed as well inc my trial ran out. I’m done playing.
The negativity bias, also known as the negativity effect, is a cognitive bias that, even when positive or neutral things of equal intensity occur, things of a more negative nature have a greater effect on one's psychological state.
I love battling in Pokémon TCG, but my goodness the coin flips are just against me while my opponent gets, I want to say 80% of the time a good coin flip. And it doesn’t even matter how good my cards are.
totally rigged from pack opening to online pvp. is disgusting. it's all a joke to players. 0 competitive just waiting that the script work and nothing more.
My knowledge of coin flips is that the first one is player chosen and CAN ( not will ) hit heads every single time while the next coin flips are game decided
I recognize when I go to do higher more expert level solo battles it so happens my coin flips are absolute garbage, vs when I do intermediate solo my coin flips just happen to go in my favor all the time.
Misty feels weird to me. I have never used Misty myself but I feel like AI and players alike are incredibly unlucky against me but on two occasions the AI got 9 and 10 energy when they otherwise are crazy lucky to even get 3-4.
There are two things I'd love to be datamined: 1. If you spend more money does that increase your overall "luck" or probability odds? 2. The longer you play the game in one sitting, does that decrease your overall luck or probability odds? These are two things I've observed, of course theres no data to substantiate.
The wonder pick system is just awful in general. 4/5 times you're not gonna get what you want and it makes you always feel like YOU picked the wrong card. That's why I never intend to, nor do I even feel tempted to, spend money on this system. It is just a feel bad system that is not worth any money whatsoever. I pick for free or don't engage with it at all. It would actually be an upgrade if you couldn't pick a card at all and that the card was chosen at complete random.
it quite literally doesn't matter either way, whether or not you have the illusion of choice its still 20% to get what you want. and i disagree, the wonder pick system is great over a long period of time, where your picks will regress towards the average expected, i.e. you get what you actually want usually every 5 picks. To put it into perspective, this means for a 3 cost pick (36 hours/ hourglasses) (the cost when theres a regular 4 diamond ex, which make up the crux of most meta decks), you will be able to do 168 hours in a week/ 36 hours (3 cost) = roughly 4.67 picks in a week, if you have the patience. That's almost the 5 needed to average out 1 of what you want. And this isn't counting rewards from solo mode, regular events, the monthly hourglass refresh, level up rewards and whatever else they might add. So in reality it more than 5 picks a week, but for sake of ease lets just say its 5. That means you can kinda get an "ex" you want per week, on average anyway. of course your luck in a specific period of time could be good or bad. but the point is, over time all of this ads up. obviously you can speed it up monetarily if you lack the patience which is often rewarded in these types of gacha games.
I know this video is a few weeks old but i just wanted to point out that the pack choice has always been set as even if you look at the videos used for this one there is a skip button at the bottom of the packs. They never really hid that the packs are predetermined.
Oh yeah, they give me only 1 basic, 3rd evolution, sabrina, and 1 heal. How do I'm supposed to do? 3/4 turn i already lost without any bench card. It happen multiple time.
i have 600 cards pulled by playing as a f2p player I have none of the rare cards I've seen people with 400 or 300 cards pulled and that's one thing. I never seem to be able to get the cards i want in online battles too, almost every online battle I'm in my opponents will start with "Professor Research" and "Pokeball" cards but i won't be able to get those till mid game or late game
I'm almost a f2p player (only bought the premium pass) and i pulled like a 1000 cards at this point. For me personally pack openings are not that bad. I got 3 immersive art and 5x 2⭐ cards. But the ingame draws when i play agains somebody is totally shat most of the time. Somethimes the last 5 or 6 cards are the prof research and the pokeball.
I myself have two mistys coin flips (a regular one and a full art version) and there has been only one time I've been able to get a single coin flip for one of my Articuno exs.
The way to test the misty coin flip is play a misty deck and purposefully get the results from using it 500 times very early 500 times on go 5-6 and 500 times later on and after the first pokemon has been eliminate. It will determine if a bias has been set up not to allow 50/50 chance of heads on the first spin in early chances when the card is most useful. If enough people record the results it will provide better data
Even if it's preetermined, it's still random. Users only imagine they can pick the right pack out if a set of packs they have no information to distinguish between.
I started a second ftp account, have under 400 cards, but pulled 2 immersive 2 Charizards, and immersive Mewtwo, meanwhile I have almost 2of every EX on my 100$ account, only pulled 1 Pika immersive 🤷
You spent $100 on this game!?!? That's CRAZY. I have a bunch of dirt lying around. Would you like to pay $100 for the alpha centauri system? 😂😂 In all seriousness, people like you who spend hundreds on garbage games are the reason garbage games exist with gatcha gimmicks
The moment i opened the first pack i realized that the carousel is fake and just a flair for people have the "feel" of opening a proper pack, much like fake dialogue choices in genshin or metaphor, whoever is seriously complaining about this is an idiot. The coinflip is just people being unlucky Wonder pick feels like the choice matter, but even if it doesnt, it wouldn't matter at all for me, in fact I'd rather they skip the picking part and just give me the card to save time
So what the pack wheel is all the same? They are generated AT RANDOM with odds listed. Whenever they are generated after chosing pack or before does not change anything. You are not getting scamed IT IS RANDOM
You clearly missed the point of that segment 😂 he wasn’t doubting it wasn’t random - he was doubting the impact the player has on changing his choice, in which he proved. This video is a discussion point not a yes or no, if no one talking about this stuff games won’t be held accountable!
for me the pack is rigged heres the kicker you can get a good or rare card just check every pack, all you have to do is check every sides of the pack slide it going to the right if you saw like its not straight or like a flick on the top trust me it has a good or rare cards but not everytime you will open a pack that means theres a rigged pack already still there are chances but if it has like a flick or a bit deform on the top it has a good or rare card i just saw it in some reels i forgot if its on fb or ig and it works I tried it and viola a mew ex 2 star😅😅😅 btw im a f2p only.
Lets be honest would the game feel any differently for pack opening if there was a choice if yes then it gives a disadvantage to people that open 10 at a time if no then why complain about them not adding a few lines of code and extra data being transferred betwen the game and the server
The coin flip is fully dependent on how fast you swipe (how far it will go) and how long you swipe (how many rotations), there is a coin flip trick where you hold the coin at the maximum height it can go without being flipped or it goes back to its spot because you went to far or you held down so long, if you hold it and flick ever so slightly, it will normally land in the middle on heads but its still a touchy feely sort of thing because i have gotten inconsistent heads but I've gotten more heads than tales with this trick. The coin system is ran on physics alone i believe.
No, I would like to politely disagree with you, as a Computer Science student. All these mechanics are already predetermined at server-side, before you make any choice. Just like the carousel, even the coin flip is predetermined, the very moment the effect of a card takes place. The server randomly selects the coins and as a result you're made to believe that you have any control over it through physics. Which is not the case. What you are talking about is affected by the fact that as humans we have a negative-bias towards these things. Truth is, statistically speaking, if you were to flip coins approximately to infinity you would have 50% chance for both heads and tails. Props to the developers for accounting for the flip design, it makes it look more real to us, as if we are in control of anything. It makes the game more immersive with our little traditions before flipping coins.
I have no doubts it's rigged. I got nothing more nothing less than 6 Celebis EX but no second Mew, no Gyarados, no Druddigon, no second Serperior, nothing at all... TCG Live is way better than this piece of sh**.
Pack offerings in app states how packs are drawn. Not rigged. @elijahwilliameby2030 If you use normal distribution curve, you'll get roughly equal 3heads and 3tails. But this game is rigged more to the 3tails, its keeping cards like zapdos ex from being op I guess.
Its absolutely rigged, 1rst account good drops untill level 16, from then, 12 packs and not a single holo or rare, 2nd account all good drops at the moment, lets see when i level up a bit more...
I will say this about the wonder pick just as something I've noticed, 7/10 times the card I want which is usually an ex alt art or something of higher rarity is almost always in the in the same spot or the spot right next to it. If say the card is shown on the wonder pick at the bottom left before it shuffles it usually ends up in the same spot or in the bottom right in that scenario. So with that being said I always choose the spot where the card was originally and like I said 7/10 times I get the card. I can only loosely confirm this on ex cards or higher rarity cards not basic rarity cards. would be cool if someone could legitimately test this.
