Yonex Badminton Shoes - Eclipsion Z2 vs 65 Z2 vs Aerus Z Review & Comparison
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 вер 2024
- I compare 3 flagship Yonex badminton shoes, the Eclipsion Z2, 65 Z2 M and the Aerus Z. The Eclipsion Z2 is solid and stable whilst the Aerus Z is light and fast. The 65 Z2 combines good support and cushioning alongside a very comfortable fit, a very good pair of badminton shoes.
You can see why plenty of pros such as Kento Momota and Viktor Axelsen choose to wear the 65 Z2 as its ultra comfortable and looks good at the same time.
Plenty of technologies were incorporated into these shoes such as Power Cushion, Power Cushion +, Toe Assist and many more.

What HOW DID YOU KNOW I WAS LOOKING AT EXACTLY THESE 3 SHOES TO BUY THIS WEEKEND WHAT THE HELL THANKS BRO much appreciated again
WHATTTTT?!! 😂😂 I’m glad it’s helped 👍🏼👍🏼 enjoy your new shoes!
He's stalking you man
Why no one uses 65 x
I actually prefer the Eclipsion series, I tried the Aerus Z at club rackets because I needed new shoes and they turned out to fit okay, but the more I used them the more I uncomfortable I felt wearing them. So I decided to get the wide version of the Eclipsion Z2, however they're not in the UK had to get them shipping from Malaysia. Took a risk by not trying them on but so far the Eclipsion Z2 Wide is by far the best badminton shoe that I've worn. They fit my foot very well still giving some room for movement and the design of the shoe I feel helps me be more explosive on court as I get more grip on the sides of my feet.
The Eclipsion shoes are really well built! Very impressed really.
I am getting confusing
Awesome review! I think I'm going with the tank for my next shoe. The stability and durability were great selling points. 😁
Solid choice there 👍🏼👍🏼
Awesome review! First time I put on the Aerus 2, I was immediately blown away by how light it was and how responsive it was. I was very sad when the upper material of the right toe box tore and split. Going forward, would love something more durable, so the 65z3 will be next!
The Z3 looks to be amazing!
That happened to my Aerus 1's because of the light material the toe tip torn.
Many people have the same bad experience, me also.
As usual awesome vids.. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 i would like to ask... for a player, do you recommend having more of the same rackets (like having a collection of all 4 astrox 88d) or having a racket collection of different types of rackets in your arsenal to play with??? Love to hear your thoughts on this.. thankss!!
I’m all for having multiples of the same racket as I want the consistency it brings. Whether I’m training or playing in a match, I can rely on it knowing if anything changes, it’s me and not my equipment 👍🏼
@@CKYew i seee... Thanks for the honest reply ck. Cant wait to see your next upcoming vids.. much love from Indonesia🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩🔥🔥🔥

Let's gooooo. Been waiting for this :D
Let’s goooooooooo!!! 😂😂
CK are you going to review the 65z3 with the new bladed grip design which is similar to the eclipsion, it's the shoe I'm most looking forward to!
I should've let the video finish lol
Will certainly try!
Question "Aerus Z are they true to size or should you go for a half size up? (I know retailers suggest halfsize up but thats partly down to not wanting online returns hassle)"
Hi CK, what could recommend for wide yonex shoes. I've tried the 65Z2 wide, the fit is fine but I'm not a fan of the white/red colour way. So now I'm eyeing the Eclipsion z2 wide, but I cant find it in my local store so there no way for me to try it on. Was hoping you could comment on the fit of the eclipsion Z2 wide compared to the 65Z2 wide.
I've never tried the wide shoes too 😬😬😬
Hi CK, I have a few questions to ask you. I am an intermediate double player, and I always play 3-4 times per week with my friends for social baddies and tournaments. Out of these three badminton shoes, which one will suit me?
They're all good, it depends on what you're looking for. if you want lightness and speed, go for the Aerus, stability, go for the Eclipsion and all round comfort, go for the 65 series.
@@CKYew I see. What about durability? Which one of these three shoes can last longer if I play more?
Also, have you tried Yonex 2022 Power Cushion Infinity 2 as well as the new Yonex Power Cushion Comfort Z 3?
hello CK.. I want to ask about the size of Yonex shoes, before I used Yonex Aerus Z White Size 39/24.5cm, but it feels tight on the right and left and above. I'm planning to take the SHB type, do I still take the 39/24.5cm size or go up the size? because judging from the SHB type, the right and left spaces are quite different from the Aerus Z with a slim fit model. thank you
You should certainly try them before you buy
Cheeky feature 🔥
🔥 indeed!
Which racket can Produce more Power
88d pro or 100zz?
4u
Its down to the player 🤣🤣 However, I prefer the 88D Pro.
Is the Eclipsion's stiff upper still comfortable? I tend to stub my toe slightly more as my legs tire out and toenail bruising creeps in. So far so good with the 65Z2s but can imagine a stiffer toebox would make that worse
Thanks
The Eclipsion is actually really comfortable!!👍🏼
Ecplipson z3 is good 👍 I am using
Previous shb 87 were the best
Shb 87 I am currently using , which one wud u recommend as upgrade
All 3 would be a nice upgrade 👍
I'm currently using aerus z. Sadly, i just dislocated my knee and on point of recovery. Wondering should i continue wearing aerus z?
Sorry to hear that 🥲 focus on your recovery and get back stronger. Work on your movement technique, timing and physicality. I’m currently going through the same with my injury and knows how it feels. Having confidence is key when you’re just coming back from it so if changing gives you peace of mind, change it 💪🏻 good luck 😊😊🔥🔥
@@CKYew Wow, did not expect you replied that fast. From your reply, 1st priority is to focus on movement technique, shoes are 2nd priority. Got it. Thanks.
1st priority is to rest/get better then focus on recovery/technique before thinking about shoes
Raket apa yang digunakan dalam review ini ? Terimakasih 🙏
My normal racket is the Astrox 88D Pro
Would you recommend any shoes for p-e class?
They’re all good shoes, it depends on what you prefer 👍🏼
Iam an indian and 65z2 is not available in india here can you give me any purchase link of 65z2 momota edition or from where I can purchase it
The links in my video description should be able to help you.
Meanwhile me using my Nikes 💀
As long as they're indoor court shoes and you should be fine. Otherwise, there's a chance you might roll your ankle 😬
@@CKYew yup they are ! It specialty is ankle protection :)
Music is stupidly loud and denigrates from your soft spoken expertise unfortunately
After your review i purchased the Eclipson z2, excellent for stability and no chance of fatigue with respect to ankles.
The radial grip is a great innovation by Yonex, helps a lot on court
Nice!!! I'm glad you've found the review useful! 👍
Amazing detailed review, so useful! I currently use the Comfort Z2 and you've convinced me to go for the 65 Z2s next time.

I'm interested to try the Eclipsion Z2 for the new outsole design, but I think i'll wait for the 65 z3 as I saw it has the new grip pattern and is not a massive jump in weight.
I believe it will have the same sole as the Eclipsion Z2 👍🏼
I got the 65X2 instead (the cheaper version of 65Z2) since I like its red colour way. Looks like the only thing missing compare to 65Z2 is the carbon fiber plate inserted inside the midsole but that's something I can live without
I've not tried the X2 before so good observation there! 🙂
I have 3 pairs of the 65z2’s so I think it’s safe to say it’s my favourite.
I used to use the aerus 3 back in the day but I found it lacked enough cushioning for consistent intense training as well as it feel so light at times. Almost like I wasn’t wearing shoes which meant it was easier for me to hurt my feet.
Although I definitely agree with what you said.
It’s like a match day shoe
AMAZING match day shoes! haha
Hello where can i buy the 65z2?
I play singles and doubles about three times a week including matches. I’ve gone through so many shoes and I always find myself going back to the 65Z2 the best all rounders. The specific reason why is the sturdiness in the upper and the flexibility straight out of the box. For example the Eclipsion Z2 felt incredibly clunky and the break-in point seems to take forever!!! 3 weeks is too long in my opinion. I gave up on them in the end because I just want to perform my best and not be conscious and hindered by my shoes when I’m on the court. So I went back to my trusty 65Z2 again. Other shoes constructed with that woven cloth material in the upper, although lite and comfy, they are too soft, resulting in my foot sliding and almost separating itself from the sole, especially in the deep corners when playing singles. Took me a lot of money and time to conclude but hope my research can be if it someone out there… Can’t wait to try out the 65 Z3!
PS: tried special socks with small rubber studs underneath - they gave me blisters as Fffff!
yeah, special socks with studs underneath dont sound good 😬😬🤣 Z3 is even better than the Z2! I've posted my review earlier today 👍
Tested the Eclipsion and the 65Z2 about 6 months ago. Was convinced I’d prefer the Eclipsion as I wanted rock solid stability and cushioning for my ageing joints. .
However my feet just felt wrong in them and it felt like I was wearing clogs!
But the 65Z2 were a dream! Ticked all the boxes and then some in terms of cushioning, support, hold etc. So happy with them and 6 months later they give me so much confidence with my footwork.
I know!! It’s sooo good!
Which is the best shoe I am confuse

Wow, I could’ve done with this video a few days ago haha but I ended up going with the Eclipsion! It’s great but I do want to look into the 65z2. Maybe for once the Eclipsion degrade if they ever do :) great video!!
Solid purchase there 👍🏼👍🏼
The new 65z has just been released! Will you review it? Looking forward to the review! I'm planning to buy my first pair of badminton shoes but I'm waiting to see if the 65z3 is significantly better than the 65z2. Also, could you maybe talk a bit about the size differences of wide versions?
Yes I am reviewing it atm! Just gone through the first round of my testing so stay tuned.
@@CKYew will do!! just subscribed with all notifications! keep up the good work! very informative videos
Thanks for the review! It made me make up my mind on which pair I should go for, which is 65z.
May I get your opinion as well. I used to wore a Esclipson Z2 with size 27.5cm but after wearing a sock, my toe felt hurt after few games. As I am getting a 65z soon should I go for 28.0cm instead of 27.5cm? Thank you once again for reading my comment but your reply is much appreciated :)
If it’s too tight, go up in size 👍🏼
I’m using comfort Z2, and I’m 90kg. The shoe feels good for heavy players (like me, lol). Wondering if I’m too heavy for eclipsion z2, lmao
That thing is built like a tank, I think it’ll be great!
I had all three. Eclipson and Aerus got a hole where my pinky toe is touching. Only the 65Z lasted.
Im gay for the Aerus Z, I LOVE IT
How would you rate the comfort Z2 compared to these shoes, your review was very detailed to listen, would love to hear a comfort Z2 review from you
I've not tried the Comfort Z2 before 😬😬
Do the Eclipsion Z2 have a power cushion + on the ballfoot like the heel?
Yes, it does.
All 3 have power cushion +
i saw kento wore a pairs of 65z3 in Denmark open? do u know when will the 65z3 release?
Yes he was. No idea on release dates yet
Waiting for the 65z3 though. I have worn all 3 and the 65z2 is still my favorite. Perfectly balance between speed and stability
Yep! It’s a really good shoe!
hey man did you get the z3? and how much better are they compared to the z2? or is it hardly noticeable?
@@west9383 I decided to go with mizuno wave claw actually, cause I have a good deal and the quality quite the same as the z3. The z3 would have to wait
The last 4 Years I used Aerus Z3, but it gets so fast broken. So I just got my Eclipson Z2. Sadly so late to know 65Zm2 :(
Hey
What is the difference between the Aerus Z and Aerus 3?
Which is the higher end and latest model and how does the Aerus 3 compare to the eclipsion and power cushion???
Aerus 3 is the previous generation. The Z and X are the latest ones.
@@CKYew ohh
So is the aerus 3 good?
Yes
Aerus Z is lighter.
I was using 65z2 and after 10 months the upper part above the great toe got torn.
Therefore, which would be the next best choice??
The Eclipsion or the Comfort might be better
I owned a LCW power cushion 03Z and I love that one. I haven’t tried any of these 3 but for me if I have to pick, I’ll go with the YONEX Power Cushion 65 Z2!
I was very impressed with the 65Z2
I personally own 3 of them. My favourite is eclipsonz2.
Niceeee!! It's certainly a tank!! 👍

@@delwin5433 there's no best shoe
Speaking of badminton shoes, what do you think is the ideal drop?
Drop?
@CK Yew i think heel drop as in difference between height between the heel and the forefoot.
@@vijayendranvijay457 Exactly. Drop in shoes means the height of the heel compare to the forefoot.
How's the sock type approach for the Eclipsion Z2 vs the 65Z2? I came from 65Z2 Wide and got the 65Z2 Kento Momota version recently. As someone with wide feet, the KM version felt more restrictive than my wide one.
So I'm thinking the Eclipsion Z2 may not be for me. Would you advise someone with wide feet to stay away from Eclipsion Z2 given its sock type feature?
there are wide versions of the Eclipsion z2's. It's just not in the same colorway.
The Momota Z2 isn’t a wide shoe. There’s wide versions of the Eclipsion Z2’s available.
Oh wait, it’s been answered already! Thanks Nix!
Hello CK, awesome video. Just wonder if you tried power cushion comfort Z2 before? How does it stack up against 65 Z2? Thanks!
I’ve not tested the comfort Z2 before :(
Switching between 88Dial n 65z, it's certainly lighter for 65z, but with less protection if compared with my 88Dial. Glad that I came across your video as I'm actually very keen on knowing how EclipsionZ2 will feel. Tbh it gave me an impression of a basketball shoes lol
The 88 Dial isnt available in the UK market unfortunately. Was it significantly more expensive than the 65?
@@CKYew Nope, I bought it last year here in Malaysia before the price increase, so I guess 88Dial it was supposed to be cheaper.
👍
Yo ck, just realised they changed the name of the 65zm2 to 65z2 in the 75th anniversary shoe
Too many characters makes it hard for marketing 😂😬
I had the orange ones from momota, I loved them. I wanted to go for the 65 Z2 M blue ones, because I liked the old ones. Without giving it a second thought I ordered them in the same size, but they are too broad :(
😬😬
in your opinion , which has better tracttion the radial blade outsoles or the hexagon outsoles?
I prefer the radial blade 😊

These shoes work with the Peloton bike+ (April 2022), ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxGPkov2mNjgZfG33r6Bwvies8jKE4AKZB and are of good enough quality. You need to get your heel pain checked out unless its coming from your previous shoe because the cushioning has worn out. The Z3 would have better cushioning as it has more material so i'd recommend that one.

I normally wear Li Ning UK 9 i.e. 27.5cm which feels a little more comfortable compared to the Z2. AND we dont have a half size option here :(. Would the shoe become more comfy after the break in period or rather go 1 size up?
I guess the shoe will have some slack after a while but if you’ve got wide feet, you might want to get the wide models.
@@CKYew thank you for the prompt reply. I actually dont have a wide feet and yeah u might have guessed it, we dont have wide options available also lol. I'm 6ft4, size 12.5 UK been using Aerus 3 for 2 years. They last for me just under a year. I play club level 3-5 times a week. The wear and tear only happens on top of the shoe and thankfully not around the toe area. My main problem is the insoles they wear and tear too quickly after 4 month's the insole slips. Think I will continue with Aerus purely because the preformance and light feeling has been far better for me. I think its best to get a 2nd pair (even though expensive) so that they don't wear and tear so quickly
5 times a week is a lot! haha you can replace the insoles with Yonex insoles or any other insoles that you find comfortable. I used to use Superfeet insoles and they're amazing! A second pair in rotation might be a better option too 👍
You're probably alot lighter than me even though Im shorter. I go through badminton shoes with 6 to 9 months. Currently using the Eclipsion as my mains for going to rec centers but I use my basketball shoes (Lebron 18) for my local club since the floors are essentially concrete and the cushion setup on the lebrons save my knees like nobodys business. I weigh 230 pounds and am 5ft 9.
@@upy0ur5 I weighed 246 pounds back then at 6ft4. But only use one pair of badminton shoes. I was told to try get two pairs
@@CKYew Badminton isn't a sport it's an addiction. I'm an adrenaline junkie and love badminton social 😅😂.
Thanks for the reply. I strongly follow you CKYew. You have a great channel for badminton reviews
100% an addiction alright. 😂👌
I got 1 from my cousin lol
Can you do r view of new Yonex 88d shoes.
I don’t think they’re available where I am :(
Personally use the Tank because it’s a tank!!
Absolutely! 😘 Rock solid!
Nice bro.. tq for your info, which one is more comfortable?
They’re all really comfortable!
@@CKYew thank..🙏
Thank for guiding me I was confused in buying 65z and aerusZ
Thank you 😊
May i know is 65z2 only suitable for ladies?
would you recommend the aerus z to people with wide feet?
Perhaps not my first choice for people with wide feet as they’re better options out there with wide models from the 65 and Eclipsions.
@@CKYew Aerus Z has a WIDE model too.
How does asics cc ff 2 pair up against these 3 I want the best
Hello ck
Hello Daniel 😊
My english is not that good so i may not have understood everything but about the shoes:
Between Eclipsion Z2 and AERUS Z , which one is better do to other sport with it ? (like Running on sidewalk, basketball outside or indoor football )
I need something that can stay for years
Thanks in advance for the answer,
You’re not supposed to use badminton shoes for other sports as they’re not designed for it. The shoes will not last or worst case scenario, you might even get injured playing a sport with the wrong shoes.
Is the country of origin for Aerus Z Vietnam?
please review all yonex shoes that use the boa system, such as the power cushion infinity gen 2
and how to compare SP and JP code shoes?
because I see the difference in the price of the two shoes can reach 800,000 rupiah.
thank you
The infinity 2 review is coming so stay tuned 👍
Use 65z2 ever since I started bmt
It’s a good shoe!
Hi, the new yonex shoes is coming up, the Yonex 88 Dial 2 and Yonex Infinity 2 Boa, it will be great if you could get a hand-on to review those shoes. Waiting for your next shoes review, this one is very comprehensive. Thanks a lot!!!
I will review them if i can get my hands on them but no guarantees at this stage.
Comfort series are still the best for me.
Comfort certainly is key!
Any plan to compare 2023 versions of these shoes? Trying to decide between 65 Z3 and Eclipsion Z3.
Yep!
