Thank you Jarvis for your great work on this piece :) gonna enjoy playing this ‘dark horse’ for church worship thanks to you. Also enjoyed your composition. Your playing has evolved over the years since your first video review. ❤
@@samuelwwr1 my pleasure .. it was alot of work . I strongly suggest you fit a LR Baggs HIFI Duet pickup system on this guitar as a great pairing for an outstanding sounding piece : Contact me when you are ready
I have one of these from the 90s. It was someones gigging guitar and it had a run in with the TSA. This is why I could afford it, but its unreal how good it sounds. FYI, pre911 guitars might not have TSA approved locks.
I have a 2009 HD28V and a Martin Custom 0000-18 I designed and another Martin 000-16 StreetMaster and a Gibson L 1 Robert Johnson........but if I could only keep one,,.. would be the HD28V I believe!!!c, incredible from fingerpicking to flat picking to strumming of course... it does it all.... well maybe not the best Slide guitar, but it could be!!!!
Thx for sharing this nice video. I understood that from a dealer in Germany that Martin will come up with new specs in 2025 that will impact the bracing, neck, etc on certain (high-nd) models. Do you know more?
@@RobinDaelman never heard of that and i doubt that Martin will do that to their standard flagship model as they stand the risk of loosing market share
In 2018 they change all most of the Standard Series specs and they are now called "Reimagined" which is essential the specs of the Vintage Series (like this HD28V).. mainly the forward shifted (some scalloped) bracing and open tuners etc... This change was very well received and Im almost positive they will stick with these new Reimagined specs for a long time to come. One of the best places to get everything Martin is the podcast Martins and More with Spoon Phillips. It's Maury Rutch's (of Maury's Music) podcast and they would have mentioned what your were asking about if it was happening. They work with Martin directly often. Anyway, their podcast is on YT as well as everywhere you get your podcasts.. Ill link an episode with this comment if I can: ua-cam.com/video/heK0JOZ5lK0/v-deo.html
@@TheGuitarSpaSingapore Not sure what you mean because a new regular Martin D28 is 'Reimagined"... you can't buy one that isn't.... unless you design your own in the Custom shop.

Great review. I had a ‘99 Martin D-18vs. Terrific guitar with a great modified V neck. I love the Vintage series.

jarvis, maybe you said and I missed it. Are those monel/retro/nickel strings? They look silver.
@@VanInhalin yes they are as it was sent in with the strings and owner didn’t want to change it even though i had to work on it
